Chapter 34

Mikey

Ilook over at Julia, my jaw damn near on the floor. The amount of emotions running through me is unheard of. Not only did she kill her dad like some bad ass in a movie, but she also dropped a fucking atomic bomb on me.

She is pregnant... Is it mine? Not that it matters, because genetically, Kai and I are the exact same. But when did she find out? Why is she here if she is pregnant? What the fuck is going on? How did they find us?

The questions don't stop, as Julia hands Luca the key. He walks over and undoes the chain attached to the floor. First Kai's, then mine. I get up, and my legs wobble, but then Julia is there, tucking herself against my side and grabbing Kai on her other side, holding us up.

"What the fuck was that?" Kai says. I turn and look at him, then see Julia smile.

"Surprise..." She tries to shrug under our weight.

"Surprise? That's all you got to say?" My voice cracks at the end.

"What do you want me to do? Fall to my knees and ask for forgiveness?" Luca laughs behind us. I turn and glare at him.

"You fucking let her come here while she is pregnant?"

"You try telling that little hellfire, no." He bites back. He isn't wrong, telling Julia no is impossible.

I turn back around to her and wrap her in a hug, bringing her head to my chest, and kiss the top of it. I feel Kai behind her, sandwiching her between us in our perfect little bubble.

She looks up at me and wraps her hand around my neck, kissing me gently, like I might break, then turns her head and pulls Kai down the same way.

"Alright, love birds, as much as I love seeing this family reunion, we've got to go." Luca crosses his arms, looking impatient as ever.

As soon as I pull away from Julia, I miss her touch already.

I grab her hand, and we follow Luca out of the house. When we exit the front door, I see several of his men standing there with a gas can and one of them holding a box of matches.

"Light it up, boys," Julia's voice sounds so confident; it fills me with pride.

The men start to douse the house, and as soon as we turn the corner, the whole thing is engulfed in flames.

"Well, that took really fast," I say. Julia looks up and smiles at me, "Good thing this house isn't near any others. This place looks like it used to be a cute neighborhood, and then it was abandoned. It makes sense why my dad chose it."

We get into the SUV and head back to our penthouse. Everyone is quiet, minus the low hum of some rock music.

"I'll get someone on the paperwork about your dad's death." Luca turns and looks at Julia. She nods, but doesn't look him in the eyes.

"Hey," I lift her chin with two fingers to get her to face me. "What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"

She smiles at me softly, then sighs.

"I am just... trying to figure out life right now. It doesn't feel real. I am the last remaining De Luca." A tear slips down her face.

"Yeah. You are, and in my opinion, the best looking one also." Kai says from her other side, making her slightly chuckle.

"I just don't know what to do with my life now. My whole world has been following my dad's rules, then it was about not pissing him off, then avoiding him. What do I do now?" Another tear slips down her face.

"Whatever you want, baby," I grab her face again. "You have the whole world at your fingertips, and we will gladly stand here and watch you conquer whatever you want to."

Julia starts to sob, and my chest tightens. "What's wrong, baby? What did I say wrong? I take it back."

She shakes her head, confusing me even more.

"I—I am just so glad to have you two... well three... I think." She reaches down and places her hand on her stomach, rubbing slow circles. Kai reaches over and places his hand on top of half of her, and I reach out and put my hand on the other half of her hand.

"My family," Julia whispers, and my heart jumps out of my chest.

I look up at Kai, and I can hear him say in my head, Our family.
