Chapter 15
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
KAI
“ G od, ReRe, you feel so good.” I cup her full, soft breast in my hand, pinching her nipple between my fingers. Serena throws her head back, resting it against my shoulder as she writhes in my grasp. Her back arches, grinding her ass into my length. Her shirt is half-off, and the only thought running through my head is how badly I want to rip it off her body and taste her.
“Kai…” My name on her lips sounds like a prayer. Her lips ghost my neck in the softest of kisses, and the last remaining shred of control I have snaps. I turn her so she’s facing me, capturing her lips with my own and swallowing her moans. We break apart only long enough for me to finish pulling the hoodie over her head before we crash back together, frantic, desperate, and on fire. Her skin is so soft in my hands. How have I never noticed how soft she is?
I push her down on the couch, hovering over her, peppering kisses along her jawline, down her neck, between her breasts, as I explore every inch of her beautiful tawny skin. I capture one of her dark mauve nipples in my mouth and suck, pulling another keening, needy moan from her lips.
“Oh…God…Kai. Yes…” Her pleas are lyrical and the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. I switch my focus to her other nipple, and her hips buck up, seeking more friction. I give her what she wants, moving back up her body until my aching dick is lined up with her needy pussy, and I grind into her, her thin leggings and my gray sweatpants the only barrier between us. We are making out and dry humping like a couple of teenagers, and I am the most turned on I have ever been in my life. Fuck, she feels perfect under me. She feels like…mine.
I feel precum dripping from my tip, and I know I’m only minutes away from coming in my pants like a virgin, but she feels so good under me I can’t stop. I won’t stop. She’s everything I didn’t know I needed. Serena’s body tenses under mine, her nails digging into my arms as her orgasm barrels through her. It’s enough to push me over the edge, and I come in my sweats, not even a little embarrassed.
My eyes fly open as my orgasm rocks through me. My hand is gripping my dick as I fuck into it, coming in my pants, just as I did in my dream. “Fuck.” I haven’t had a wet dream since I was a horny sixteen-year-old and had my first crush on Beyoncé. I have definitely never had a wet dream over my best friend before.
At least not until this week. Now I’ve had two—ever since Sunday night I haven’t been able to get Serena off my mind. When my hand brushed against her bare breast, it was like a key opening a lock that unleashed a Pandora's Box of new, unrequited feelings for the woman who was…is…my best friend. Grumbling, I throw off the covers and head to the bathroom to shower and clean up the evidence of my embarrassing new habit.
I decide to skip my morning coffee from Brewed Awakening, shame still spiraling through me over my dream about Serena. I can’t face her until I get these feelings under control. We haven’t spent much time together since Sunday night. She’s been showing up to class late, sitting in the front of the room and skipping our usual lunch dates, claiming to be busy. I haven’t pushed, giving myself some space from her while I work through my shit. I know she feels guilty about what happened, even though it’s not her fault. I’m the one who crossed the line.
On the drive to campus, I’m lost in thought over my new feelings for my best friend when the flashing of blue and red lights in my rearview mirror brings me back to reality.
“Fuck me. Not again.” Glancing down, I confirm I’m not speeding. I know all of my lights are functioning, and the license plate is up to date. I stay on top of my car maintenance in an effort to stay off the cops’ radar in town. I refuse to give them any reasons to pull me over. Grudgingly, I pull over into an empty church parking lot, turn off the car engine and place my hands on the steering wheel in an automatic reflex. I know the drill by now. Keep my mouth shut, do not argue, and keep my hands where they can see them.
I watch the officer approach in the side view mirror and dread starts pooling in my gut when I recognize Serena’s new boyfriend, Dominick, approaching my car with a smug as fuck grin on his face. I wait for him to tap on my window before lowering it.
“Can I help you, Officer?” I keep my tone neutral, voice calm. I will not give this power-hungry jackass a reason to give me shit.
“Do you know why I pulled you over?” Dominick Reeves’s eyes are cold and unfriendly as he gives me a once-over, casually inspecting my car in one quick glance.
“No, sir, I do not.” I keep my eyes trained forward, hands still on the wheel, jaw clenching in effort to remain calm and collected. Dominick must sense my seething frustration; it is strong enough to be palpable.
“You were going a little fast back there through the school zone.” Bullshit is my immediate thought, but I bite my tongue and keep my mouth shut.
“I’m sorry, sir; I didn’t realize I was speeding. My speedometer showed twenty-five for me.” My grip on the wheel tightens as I take in a deep breath, fighting the urge to call him on his bullshit.
“I clocked you at twenty-eight on my radar. Look, Kai, I know you’re friends with my girl, so I’ll let you off with a warning in exchange for a little favor,” Dominick says, as he leans down, resting his elbows on the car door, invading my space. The way he emphasizes the word friends is patronizing as fuck. “Do me a favor, and stay away from Serena. I don’t want to hear about any more movie-watching parties with just the two of you. She’s mine now, and I don’t want people getting the wrong idea about the two of you. Or about her. She has me to take care of her now. You can take your little unrequited crush and move along.”
I turn to look at him, eyes narrowing at his audacity. “Excuse me? Don’t you think that should be Serena’s decision to make?” So much for remaining calm and not arguing with the officer. I’m more than ready to get out of my car and get arrested for assaulting a police officer.
“Kai, we both know Serena is too fucking sweet to hurt your feelings by telling you to move on. But that’s what you need to do. You drug your feet and missed your chance with her. Now let her live her life and be happy with a man who is willing to take care of her the way she deserves. Do what I say, or next time I won’t let you off with a warning.” Officer Assgoblin raps his knuckles against the door and backs away. “Oh, and be more careful in the future. I’d hate for someone to get hurt because of your actions.”
A shudder runs through me at his parting words. They don’t feel like a warning at all. They feel like a threat.
