I was standing here, fighting for my life trying not to smile.

I don’t know if I was going crazy, or I had reached a point with Gemini where I was just turned on by everything that he did but seeing him stand there and check this dude was sexy as hell.

It was attractive. I loved that Gemini was ten toes down in who he was, and how he didn’t play when it came to his respect.

He didn’t have to threaten the man, he didn’t have to yell, didn’t have to raise his shirt, and show the gun that I knew he had resting there.

I loved to see a man move with confidence and self- respect, and Gemini just so happened to be the epidemy of that.

After Gemini finished checking the dude, of course he didn’t have anything else to say.

I mean, he was a total mute after that. No more slick remarks from him.

No more anything. They went through the checklist, where Gemini checked off the remaining boxes on the tablet.

He had the dude sign over all the documents, and as if that moment never happened, he walked away, going for my side, so he could open the door, and assist me in getting inside.

Usually, when Gemini completed business with someone, he would shake their hands and even ask to take a picture of them standing next to their new car, so he could add it to his profile, but he didn’t do any of those things.

He got in the truck, and I watched him as he started logging on the screen, documenting that the delivery was complete.

“I really thought that you were going to beat his ass,” I let him know, reaching in the cupholder, so that I could grab my bottle of water.

When I said that to Gemini, he laughed, while keeping himself busy on the screen.

“Man, I wanted to slam him on his fuckin head. We in country ass Alabama though, and I ain’t trying to get arrested for beating a white boy ass in his own driveway.

I felt like he was trying me. Over the years, I’ve met so many people that’s interested in my career.

They respect what I’m out here doing. Don’t get me wrong, coming to these parts of town, I’ve been stereotyped before, but I think I got so angry with him because I felt like he was talking to me in a sense of him being better than me,” Gemini went on to tell me, and I nodded my head, agreeing with what he said.

I had the same perspective as him on this entire situation.

“You can have more money than me. Shit, someone can even have less money than me. I don’t care about that shit.

I care about respect. I give respect to a fuckin dog.

I’ll respect a homeless person on the side of the street.

I’ll never in my life stand back and let somebody talk to me as if I’m beneath them because of how I make my living.

I worked too hard to get to where I’m at.

With every humble bone in my body, I can assure you that I make more than his ass anyways,” he finished.

“And you don’t have to be humble for saying that. You worked hard to get to where you are,” I let him know.

We dropped it from there, and he eventually finished logging the delivery.

I think Gemini was still a little upset about what happened because for the duration of the ride, he didn’t say much of anything.

We drove in silence until we pulled up to a truck stop.

He was able to snag a spot in the back. It was after six now, and the sun was beginning to set.

“Ima get out and sit on the back of the trailer. I need a blunt,” he let me know.

I nodded, and he quickly got out of the truck.

I could hear Gemini raise the liftgate, so I’m sure he kept his weed stored somewhere in there.

I rose from my seat, so that I could go to the back for a second.

I tossed my book on the bed, and grabbed my phone, that I had sitting on my bed.

There were messages from my mom, and Gianna.

Both wanted to know how it was going. I texted each of them back, letting them know that we were in Mobile, Alabama, and that Gemini was done working for the day.

I kept in touch with them every day. If I didn’t talk to them on the phone, then we would communicate with each other through text messages.

My mom missed me so much. Every day we texted, she wanted to know if I was going to come back to London once I was finished being on the road with Gemini.

Every day, my answer for her stayed the same.

I would tell her that I wasn’t sure yet.

Truth is that I had no desire to go back to London.

That became my life by force. She wanted us to move from Miami when I was a kid because of my father getting killed.

I got my education in London, found my dream career, and I thought that I even found my dream man.

London wasn’t a life that I was in a rush to go back to.

I missed my mom. Of course I did, but if anyone knew what it felt like having to leave a place because it no longer brought you happiness, I would think that it would be her.

Instead of staying in the truck, I decided to get out, so that I could join Gemini in the back.

I found him, sitting on the back of the truck, with the blunt in his hands.

I watched him as he took a long pull from it and then exhaled the smoke.

This was my first time seeing him smoke.

Again, this was usually something about a man that would have turned me off if it was anyone else, but sitting here, watching him do it, it was sexy.

You would never know that Gemini smoked unless he told you.

His clothes never smelled like weed, neither did his truck.

He didn’t have black lips like a lot of weed smokers.

Maybe it was because he didn’t smoke often.

I’ve been on this truck with him for days now, and this was my first time seeing him hit the blunt.

I came over, sitting right next to him. Times in the past, when I knew that someone was smoking weed, I would make sure that I was the furthest from them. Look at me now. All up under him, getting secondhand smoke from the smoke lingering in the air, and coming my way.

“You don’t give me the type that will sit around someone while they smoke. You look like you’ll complain about the smoke getting in your hair, or lingering on your clothes,” he called me out, hitting the nail right on the head.

“You’re right,” I responded.

“Why you came out here then?” he wanted to know, and I chuckled.

“Because it was too quiet on the truck,” I lied, knowing that that wasn’t the reason why I came out here with him.

“Yeah aight. You came out here because you like being around me,” he hit the nail on the head with that too, but of course I wasn’t going to let him know that.

“Cocky much, aren’t we?” I asked, picking my legs up, so that I could sit Indian style. Waiting for an answer from him, I turned my head, wanting to hear it.

The blunt was in his hands, and Gemini was boldly looking back at me.

You could tell that he was very much attracted to me.

His eyes were looking me in my eyes, but then they dropped, looking at my lips.

They dropped even lower, looking at my breast. I removed the sweater that I’ve been wearing today, so right now, I was in a white tank top.

I didn’t have a bra on. I didn’t feel the need to put one on because I knew that the plan was to be on the truck all day.

I looked down to see if my nipples were hard, and they were. That explained why his eyes dropped, staring at my breast.

“Never cocky. I’m just stating facts. You like being around me.

You had the chance to stay in the truck, and probably lay in bed, finishing your book, or simply hang out in the passenger seat.

Look where you at. Sitting on the back of a trailer with me while I smoke, getting weed all on your clothes and in your hair,” he said it with confidence, removing his eyes from lingering on my breast, so that he could look me in the eyes.

I didn’t have a response for that. He was right and I didn’t want to argue with him. He held the blunt out in my direction, as if he was offering me to hit it with him. I made a face, looking at him like he was crazy, while shaking my head no. My response caused him to laugh.

“Absolutely not,” I said, knowing that I wasn’t going to go anywhere near that blunt.

“You’ll be surprised when you see that this shit really does calm you down. Someone like you, that’s always uptight and on edge, it’ll probably be beneficial for you. Suit yourself though. I don’t want to be the person in your life that’s influencing you to do drugs anyways,” he said.

“Does it really calm you down though? What’s the science behind it? I feel like that’s just something that weed smokers have convinced themselves to believe,” I responded. With the blunt in his hands, he kept his eyes on me.

There was so much tension between us. Good tension.

A lot of sexual tension going on. I think we were both still on a high from the kiss we shared last night.

That kiss was nasty as hell. When he picked my ass up from the bed, carried me, and then lifted me again, sliding me up and down, so that I could feel how hard that dick was, I could have lost it.
