24. Gemini Black #2

Amina stood in front of me, and I could feel her hands trembling, as I held them in mine. The moment was happening. It was actually taking place. I told her this morning that I was the problem solver, and I meant that.

I had a way with words, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve always been able to get my way.

Since the resort that we were at specialized in destination weddings, all it really took was a conversation with the manager, telling her my plans, and of course a lot of money.

I got deep with the story, telling her how I’ve been on my truck with my girl for almost two months, and that we wanted to get married tonight.

I wasn’t sure if it was because the manager was a woman, who was probably a hopeless romantic like a lot of women are, but she worked with me.

She put a small package together for me, and once the bill was paid, she immediately got to work.

She reserved a private area of the beach for us to have this evening, right when the sun was setting.

They were able to get in touch with an officiant, and even though it was short notice, he agreed to it.

Amina told me earlier that it was important for a photographer to be here to capture this moment between us, so we were able to have a photographer come out as well.

We had flowers, but they were simple white flowers.

A small arch of white flowers that overlooked the ocean.

Nothing about this wedding was extravagant, but we had each other, and that was the most important thing that we could have.

“Please repeat after me Amina,” our officiant said to Amina in his thick, Spanish accent.

We’ve already been through the part where he shared words at the beginning, spoke a little bit about our love story, and now we were at the part where we would repeat the vows.

Even with this being something that was super last night, Amina was able to find a white dress.

She was easily the most beautiful bride that I’ve ever seen in my life.

It was a simple, yet elegant satin material dress.

It had sort of a tight fit to it, so you got the chance to really take it in and appreciate the beautiful body that she had.

The dress had a slight train. Her curly hair went perfect with the dress.

She did her make-up so beautifully, too.

No lie, standing before her, I felt like I was the luckiest man in the world.

I was able to snag a cream- colored linen suit.

There was a crisp, white button down underneath.

I always thought that I would be in a white tux on my wedding day, but I would take this too.

Nothing about what I had on right now was flashy, but a nigga was clean.

The suit was fitted, and it’s exactly how you would expect a man to dress at a beach wedding.

“I, Amina Sinclair, take you, Gemini Black to be my husband,” he said. Amina smiled through her tears, right before she took a deep breath, and she repeated after him.

“I promise to love you, faithfully. I will honor you. I will stand beside you through the ups, and the downs. I will choose you every day for the rest of my life,” he went on.

Amina looked me in my eyes, repeating everything to me with confidence. I could tell that she actually meant what she was saying to me. I believed her.

When she finished, that’s when the officiant turned his head, so that he could look at me.

“Please repeat after me Gemini,” he stated, and I nodded my head.

I had a certain kind of confidence about me this evening.

Not a confidence in a cocky way. It was one of those things where I didn’t have any doubts on what I was doing.

I knew that I was making the right decision.

I knew that I was standing in front of the woman that God had sent for me.

That’s why I could stand before her proudly, ready to repeat after whatever he was going to say to me.

“I, Gemini Black, take you, Amina Sinclair to be my wife,” he went on to say. With a smile on my face, I repeated after him, staring Amina deep into her eyes, so that she could feel, and believe everything that I was saying to her.

“I promise to love you, faithfully. I will honor you. I will stand beside you through the ups, and the downs. I will choose you every day for the rest of my life,” I repeated the exact same vows to Amina that she repeated to me.

Now that we’d gotten the vows out of the way, we were able to exchange the ring. Since all of this happened in a matter of hours, Amina didn’t have a ring for me yet, which was cool. She already told me that she couldn’t wait to get back to Miami, so that she could purchase a nice ring for me.

Since I had her ring, I was able to slip it onto her finger. Once it was on, the officiant looked at us both and smiled.

“By the authority vested in me, it’s my honor to pronounce you husband and wife. Gemini, you may now kiss your bride,” he said the words that I had been waiting for.

I stepped up to Amina, placing both hands on the sides of her beautiful face, and we put on a fuckin show.

You would have thought that we were in the privacy of that truck from the way that we were kissing.

She slipped her tongue down my throat, and I did the same.

The photographer was right there, snapping pictures of all of it.

We pulled away, and the pictures didn’t stop there.

He took multiple pictures of us, and once it wrapped up, I wrapped an arm beneath her legs, lifting her up into the air.

Amina was dying laughing, as I ran with her, taking her out into the water.

You could hear the sounds that the waves were making, as I continued to run toward the shoreline.

“Geminiiiii,” she squealed my name, once we were in the water together.

The suit I was wearing was soaked, and even though I was holding Amina up, the bottom of her dress was wet too.

“We’re married, baby. We’re married,” she screamed it to me through laughs, and happy tears falling from her eyes.

“Hell yeah, we married! Mrs. Black. That looks good on you, baby,” I told her, putting my face right in front of hers, so that we could kiss one another.

It’s so crazy the way life works. I’m not going to lie, that first night on the truck with Amina, listening to her crying, I was ready to put her ass out. We were able to make it out of that stage.

At the most, I thought that once the drive was over, we would come back and at least be cordial with one another. I never thought that she would end up being my wife. I was glad that it played out this way though. I promise I wouldn’t trade a single moment of the way our love story went down.
