25. Amina Black #2
Gemini laughed, while he pulled the empty chair out that was next to me.
“Corny ass nigga. Fuck was you thinking?” he asked me in a joking kind of tone, but I knew he was serious.
“It was never on my bucket list to run into him. I really thought that I would never in my life see him again,” I was honest.
“He about to go to the room, hide out in the bathroom, and cry. I know he sick to his stomach. Look what the fuck he walked away from. Stand up for a second,” Gemini went on, and I just waved him off.
“For real, bae. Stand up,” he kept it going.
I listened this time, standing up from my chair, and instead of turning around to look at him, I continued standing, facing the bar. I only turned my head to look at him.
“Look at this view. Pretty ass face. Banging ass body. You smart as hell. You nasty too. You got a dope personality. You’re kind.
Ambitious. College educated. Got your own career.
Man, call the bartender over, and lets order some shots.
Cheers to that nigga being stupid, and not valuing you, so I was able to get you,” he said, pulling me to him by my arm.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, while his wrapped around my waist.
“Ay, if I ever leave you with anything, let it be this. You ain’t nobody’s second choice,” he told me, and I nodded my head to that.
“You hear me?” he asked.
“I know, baby,” I told him.
I don’t know if he was telling me this because I was face to face with the woman that Jacob left me for or what. I wasn’t in my feelings about it though. I promise I didn’t care. I was right where I wanted to be.
“Aight. Just gotta let you know that you are the fuckin prize. Notice when I introduced myself to him, I said that I was Amina’s husband.
I say that shit like it’s a badge of honor.
I know exactly what I’m looking at. I know how to handle you with care too,” he spoke life into me like he always did.
I looked in his eyes as he spoke to me, and during that, my eyes got a little misty. The second I blinked, a tear fell.
“Come on, crybaby. Let’s order shots,” he said, wiping the tear away that had fallen.
Gemini had a way of saying the most beautiful things to me, and it would cause me to get very emotional.
I got it together, kissed him one last time, and Gemini flagged the bartender down, so that we could order drinks. This was our last day in Mexico, and I wanted to take shots with my husband and continue having a ball with him.
Later That Night
9:49 P.M.
My head was resting on Gemini’s chest, as the two of us watched a movie together. We’d just got back from dinner a couple of hours ago. We took a bath together, and instead of being outside with the rest of the crowd, all I really wanted to do was lay up under my man and watch TV with him.
Gemini was down on his back, with his hand in my hair, massaging my scalp.
It’s something that he did out of habit, and I loved everything about it.
He didn’t want me falling asleep. He wanted me to stay up, and watch the movie with him, but the way he was massaging my scalp, I kept finding myself dozing off, and then quickly opening my eyes, trying to finish the movie that we were watching.
The vibe in here was so nice. The balcony sliding door was pulled all the way back, so you could hear all the fun that was taking place outside.
We had the TV turned up high enough for us to hear it though.
The light was on in the room because I told Gemini that if he turned the lights off, I was going to fall asleep during the movie.
While I was lying here, Gemini’s phone started buzzing on the nightstand.
He used his hand that wasn’t massaging my scalp to answer the phone.
Seconds later, the call connected. I had no idea who was calling him but out of the corner of my eyes, I could see him holding the phone up to his face, so I knew that it was a facetime call.
“Oh, both of ya’ll on here. What’s up?” he asked.
“We were calling to see what you and Amina were doing,” that was Gemini’s mom’s voice.
Gemini didn’t respond to her because he lowered the phone, putting it down on me. I had my head resting on his chest, but the second he put the camera on me, and I saw his mom, and Gianna on the phone, I sat up.
“Nah. Don’t get up. Show them how you be in my skin 24/7,” Gemini talked trash, calling me out.
I laughed at him, while taking the phone out of his hands, and held it. I posted up with my back resting against the headboard, while looking at the two beautiful women on the phone.
“I can’t wait to curse you out when you get back to Miami,” Gianna immediately said to me.
I laughed at her words, while rolling my eyes at her.
She was happy for Gemini and I, but at the same time, she was annoyed as hell that she didn’t get invited to our shotgun wedding.
She was carrying on like everyone else got an invitation, and she didn’t.
Because we were best friends, I did understand her annoyance though.
I probably would have been annoyed with her too if she had a shotgun wedding, and I wasn’t invited.
“Here you go. Hey ma,” I said, referring to Gemini’s mom.
It was a three-way facetime call that we were on. Gianna looked to be home, standing inside her walk-in closet, while her mom was at her own house, standing in the kitchen cooking.
“I’m not mad at the fact that you two pulled a shotgun wedding. I know my son. When he wants something, he’s so anxious to keep it and hold onto it. I think it’s beautiful,” Gemini’s mom said to me, and I sat here, smiling at her words.
While I was sitting, Gemini took my right foot, and he held it. He literally couldn’t keep his hands to himself when it came to me. His eyes were focused on the movie, but he was using both hands to massage my feet.
“You’re so much more lenient when it comes to Gemini. If I would have done a shotgun wedding, it would have been world war III,” Gianna stated. I laughed at that, and so did her mom.
“If I didn’t know Amina and Gemini went and got married in Mexico, I would have been pissed. I know Amina though, so that’s the only reason why it doesn’t bother me, Gianna,” she stated, and as if Gianna didn’t believe her, she just waved her off.
“Guess who we saw earlier at the bar? Baby, can I tell them what happened?” I asked Gemini, taking my eyes off the screen, so that I could look at him.
“Go ahead. Why you asked me that like I was going to get mad at you for sharing that?” he asked.
“I don’t know. I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to talk about it,” I said to him. He assured me again that it was cool, so I focused on the facetime call.
“I ran into my ex. Jacob was here with his girlfriend,” I told them, and they both let out squeals, as if they were shocked that that’s who we ran into.
Gianna even placed her hand over her mouth. She looked as if she couldn’t believe what I was saying.
“What? What happened? What did he say when he saw you with Gemini? Hell, what did the girlfriend say?” Gianna wanted to know.
