CHAPTER NINETEEN

– KENZ –

“Archer’s here,” I murmur as I look at the window to see my cousin parking his bike. “He brought his VP, Wyatt, and Austin with him. Oh, they’ve brought Veloz, the guy they patched over from Blennies Hitch MC, along too.”

Livi rushes to my side to see for herself. “Why the hell are they here?”

We watch Midas leave the front door to meet them and take the guys around back. Livi tugs my shirt and when I give her my attention, she jerks her chin in the direction of the hallway. I bob my head.

One step in that direction and Lenz is there blocking our path. “I don’t think so, ladies. I have orders to keep you two safely inside the clubhouse.”

“We’re going to Kenz’s room in the basement,” Livi lies.

Lenz snorts. “Sure you are, after seeing those Broken Deeds fuckers arrive. Blow shit up someone else’s nose, Livi. I know you two want to go to the warehouse and see what they’re doing.”

Fuck.

A hint of anger flows through me and without thinking I shove Lenz’s shoulder. “Are you telling me we’re prisoners? Did my old man tell you to chain my ass to a wall if I wanted to leave?”

Lenz’s eyes grow wider with each word I throw at him.

Livi adds a little more to his shock when she says, “I’m the president’s old lady. You can’t keep me locked up in the clubhouse. Now fucking move. We’re going to have a little chat with our men.”

Lenz’s hand comes up and I growl, “Think before you put your hands on me. Or need I remind you my old man is the club’s enforcer?”

I feel a little bit sorry when he pales at my words, but it’s long forgotten when we brush past him and head for the warehouse. A few brothers are standing in front of it and our cousin, along with the other guys of Broken Deeds, are about to enter.

“Wait up,” Livi states.

“You girls can’t be here,” Macsen states.

Our cousin grins in our direction and steps to the door Macsen holds open for him while everyone else stays outside.

“Fuck it,” I grumble and storm straight ahead.

Macsen steps in my way and I snap, “Don’t fucking touch me.”

“Not touching you,” Macsen grumbles and shoves his hands in the air while he rumbles loud, “Falcon, help me out, man. Your old lady is–”

I narrow my eyes at the fucker. “I’m what?”

Movement behind him drags my attention to Falcon who is striding toward me. Blood spatters cover his naked chest, his arms, his face. Oh, his eyes. Fierce and completely focused on me. My belly experiences a roller-coaster effect, and my veins fill with lust.

“Horny,” Macsen mutters. “You’re horny and just as twisted as that fucker.”

He steps aside and without thinking I run straight into Falcon’s arms, grab his face and kiss him. I don’t care about the blood staining my clothes or anyone else witnessing my cravings for this man. Fuck them. I’m selfish and take what I want because life is short; the blood on Falcon’s body is a vivid reminder of this little fact.

“You can have my enforcer at your full disposal after we’ve handled club business.” Thorsten’s voice makes Falcon stiffen against me.

Dammit, he melted so perfectly against me, and I could feel him getting hard against my belly.

Shooting a glare in Thorsten’s direction, I snap, “Only if I can watch.”

I can see his lips twitch, and he shakes his head to hide his smile. “Falcon, your old lady, your call.”

“Strong women run in the family,” Archer remarks, and I feel pride hit me due to his words.

Falcon keeps his arm around my waist and guides me into the room. Kayden is tied to a chair. His hands and legs are all bloody. The hammer on the floor explains the way Kayden’s hands and shins look smashed to bits.

“I’m glad I don’t have to clean up the mess this time,” I mutter and then notice something. “No knives?”

Thorsten is the one who says, “Not yet. He knows how to cut, where to cut, how deep and shit, but we still need him breathing ’cause we’re killing him as a brotherhood.”

Kayden’s eyes widen, and it’s Livi who asks, “Aren’t you going to get into trouble? Killing a former cop?”

This time it’s Archer who answers, “He signed his own death warrant when he kept up his biker appearance, wearing club colors while he isn’t a fucking part of the club, and for damn sure not a member.”

“Oh, fuck,” Livi and I mutter in sync.

Falcon snaps his fingers to get his brother’s attention.

Thorsten nods. “Falcon also got a confession from him. Kayden here told Amadeo the assassin he was about to hire didn’t go by the name listed in the email. He knows it’s Archer, the fact he’s Livi’s cousin, and that all of us are working together.”

Livi picks up the hammer and takes a swing at Kayden’s knee. His head comes up and the fucker screams. Thorsten quickly takes the hammer from his old lady.

“Why did you do that? I wanted to hit him again,” Livi growls. “He deserves to die for screwing up again.”

“He deserves to die,” Thorsten agrees. “Especially since the fucker also confessed he was hired to become the cartel’s new Loverboy. He’s been hunting for chicks for the cartel to either sell or put to work in their underground brothels wearing our damn club colors. It’s safe to say Amadeo has completely taken over his father’s business. It’s not just as simple as taking this fucker out to keep Falcon and Kenz safe. We need to gather all the information and find every single one of these fuckers still working to end everything.”

It’s quiet until I state the obvious. “Which means you need Amadeo alive.”

Falcon nods, eyes angry as he stares at Kayden.

“It’s why we’re officially working together on this case,” Archer rumbles. “Not just assisting, our MCs will be working side-by-side until we’ve unraveled the human trafficking side of their business.”

Thorsten snickers. “More paperwork all around.”

Archer shoots him a glare. “Don’t fucking remind me.”

“You guys have a plan yet?” Livi questions.

Archer raises his eyebrow. “Club business, cousin. You know we can’t discuss shit with old ladies present. Besides, wheels are already in motion.”

Falcon tightens his arm around my waist, and I glance up to see the muscle in his jaw jumping while he glares at Archer. The wheels are already in motion…if what Archer mentioned is true, then the plan of offering me to Amadeo is still on.

“Unless it’s an old lady wrapped in the shitshow,” I state, wanting to know the details. “It’s not hard to guess what you guys are up to so you might as well throw it out there. Besides, there are only two old ladies. I’m the one involved in it, and the other one is the president’s old lady. Livi doesn’t seem the type to function without details, which means Thorsten will tell her most of it anyway.”

Archer rubs a hand over his face. “Sometimes it’s fucking annoying to have strong women in the family.”

Falcon takes my head in his hands and places his forehead against mine. He breathes in our closeness, and I can practically feel the raw emotions vibrating off him.

“Don’t worry,” I muse. “I can handle anything with you by my side.”

He shivers and brushes his lips so fucking tenderly against mine, it creates gooseflesh all over my body.

Pulling back, Falcon gives Thorsten a tight nod.

Thorsten returns the gesture and states, “We received a reaction on the photograph, showing we have you. He wants to meet tonight for a trade, an abandoned building on the edge of town. Ideally, we’d like to have you with us because the fucker could have eyes everywhere and not show up if he doesn’t see you.”

“Then I will come with you.” I don’t have to think twice. “I would like to have a gun and a few knives, though.”

Archer snickers. “You don’t need knives, Kenz. With your mother and twin brothers being champions in boxing and all…I happen to know you’re able to kick their ass any time, any place. So, if anyone is in knife reach? You’d be able to take them out with a punch so fucking hard…to the nose or throat, for that matter…it’ll knock ’em out cold.”

I can’t hide my smile, and I add in a serious tone, “I’d still want a gun, though.”

“You’ll get it,” Thorsten tells me. “Now, let’s untie this fucker and drag him into the backyard. Time for him to stop breathing, and for us to handle more pressing matters.”

Reaching for Falcon’s wrist, I keep him close and whisper, “Do you need to be there for the killing part?”

He frowns and gives a small shake before raising his eyebrow in question.

Licking my lips, I place my hand on his chest and say, “Maybe we could fool around a bit while they’re busy.”

Falcon grins, making my belly drop at high velocity. The man is ruggedly handsome, and always manages to set my bones on fire, even if it’s a mere photograph. A garbled growl rumbles from him, and I swear I feel it in my clit.

Bending his knees, he places his shoulder in my belly and gently throws me over his shoulder. The man is insane, he was freaking shot in the arm a mere few days ago. He’s not using his injured arm, though, but still. Falcon only snaps his fingers in Thorsten’s direction, doesn’t even explain or wait for a reaction before he walks right out of the room.

Placing a hand on Falcon’s ass, I use my other one to give Livi, Thorsten, and Archer a quick finger wave along with a huge grin. Living in the now is my motto with the shit we’re surrounded in, one Falcon shares.
