Dear Alice,

I’m thrilled to hear that college is going so well for you. I can’t believe you’re a sophomore already. You mentioned that meeting new friends has been challenging, but you seem really happy, so I bet you’ve met more people than you let on. I can’t imagine someone not liking THE Alice Sinclair.

But if I were being honest, I’d tell you that I think I’m depressed I get down sometimes. And that I’ve seen horrible things that make me question whether people are worth saving some bad things. I’d tell you that I sometimes wonder what I’m doing here and whether any of it makes a difference.
