Falling for My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend
1. Jasmine
Chapter one
Jasmine
“Jas, hey.” Riley peeks into the kitchen, a tentative grin on his face. “I forgot to tell you that Alec is in town and will join us for dinner.”
The napkin falls from my hand as my heart slams into my chest with anxiety. “What?”
“I don’t know how I forgot,” Riley says, scratching his head. “Do we have enough food? Or do I have to order some more?”
I blink, my mind muddling up any coherent thoughts. It’s not about the food being enough; it’s about Alec being here. It’s Alec. Alec Lionheart, the man I am madly, irrevocably in love with, and my brother’s best friend.
“Jas, are you okay?” Riley walks into the kitchen, and I nod, hurrying to the door. “I’m okay.”
“What about the food?” Riley asks as I run up the stairs. “Should I order some more or…? ”
“No!” I yell. “We have enough.”
Inside my room, I hurry to my closet and sift through the clothes on the rack for the perfect outfit for the night. I want something demure because Riley will be at the table, but also something seductive enough to grab Alec’s attention. I’ve been trying to get him to look my way for a year, but nothing seems to work. I may have found something that will though.
I choose a black, short-sleeved ribbed dress that hugs my gentle curves and highlights my bust, hoping it’ll be enough for Alec to look at me twice. I’m a beautiful girl, but that doesn’t seem to crack Alec because I have never caught him looking in my direction. Riley introduced me to him about 5 years ago, but they’ve been best friends for eight years. The story is they ran into each other in the admissions office in college and have been close ever since.
I don’t really care about the intricacies; all I knew was that since the first day Alec and I were introduced, I’ve been unable to stop thinking about him. I fell for him hard, and he didn’t seem to notice. Whenever there was a link-up, which was rare, Alec would talk to me casually, like a friend. It had never gone beyond that.
I haven’t seen Alec in seven months, and now that I’ve overcome my nervousness, I’m excited to see him again. I rush into the bathroom, ensuring I use my best-smelling shower gel so that I can layer the scent with my perfume. When fully dressed twenty minutes later, I hear the doorbell ring, followed by raucous laughter. He’s here!
I hurry to the mirror and take a deep breath, trying to still my heart. I can hear the deep timbre of Alec’s voice as he talks to Riley, and as I walk down the stairs, it gets louder. Riley sees me first, and his eyes light up with brotherly affection.
“Damn, Jas. You look great,” he says, then he glances at Alec. “I just realized you haven’t seen Jas since the Christmas party; that’s about seven months?”
“No. It’s seven months, three weeks, and five days.” He whirls gracefully toward me, and my breath hitches in my throat when his blue eyes sweep sensuously over my body. “Hello, Jasmine.”
My plan was to seduce Alec, but now that I’m in his presence, I’m suddenly at a loss for words. Alec is the embodiment of gorgeousness. I always joked with my best friend that the god of beauty and desire, Adonis, molded Alec in his image because there is something exotic and ethereal about him.
“Jas?” Riley frowns at me. “Are you okay?”
A blush creeps up my face at being caught blatantly staring at Alec, and I wish I could disintegrate into dust. “Hi, Alec.” I wave at him and walk into the kitchen to save face.
Alone in the kitchen, I lean my head against the fridge and suck in a deep breath.
Seven months. Three weeks. Five days. Alec is correct about how long it’s been since we saw each other, but why was he counting? It’s not like he’s attracted to me or anything. I hear footsteps approaching the kitchen and perk up, pretending to grab a water bottle from the fridge.
“Can we eat now?” It’s Riley. “I’ve been starving for hours. ”
“You’re always starving.” I roll my eyes. “You can make the table; I’ll bring the food.”
“You’re the best.” He kisses my cheek, and I playfully push him away.
Ten minutes later, we’re all seated at the table, ready to start dinner. I’m struggling to focus on my food, but my gaze won’t stop sliding to the man seated beside me. He has discarded his suit jacket and now has only a white dress shirt on. The sleeves are rolled up his forearm, revealing a sexy network of veins and muscles. I didn’t know it would be this hard seeing Alec again after all this time. It’s like my crush on him has exploded into something more powerful. I’m intensely aware of him and every move he makes.
A loud shrill rings through the air, and I flinch before realizing its Riley’s phone. “Sorry, it’s so loud,” Riley says, taking the call.
“Hi, Mr. Wickham.” He pauses, eyes widening like saucers. “Right now?” I cannot hear what the caller says, but Riley isn’t too happy about it. “Okay, sir. I’m on my way.”
“What’s up?” Alec asks when Riley hangs up with a groan.
“There’s an issue with the products being delivered at our facility,” Riley explains. “I have to sort it out.” He leaves the table.
“You’re leaving right now?” I ask, dreading being left alone with Alec.
“I’ll be back as soon as possible,” Riley says. “I promise.”
He turns to Alec. “Are you going to be here when I get back?”
“Not likely. I have some things to sort out,” he says. “But I’ll be in the country for a few weeks. ”
“Okay.” The men hug each other. “It was so good to see you, man. Let’s hang out tomorrow?”
“Sure.”
I stay frozen in my seat as Riley walks out the door, slamming the door shut behind him. The table descends into silence, and I can almost hear my heartbeat in my chest. My first thought is to run to my room and remain there until Alec leaves, but something keeps me in my seat.
“Why are you scared of me?”
I turn to Alec, meeting his startling blue eyes. “I’m not.”
His gaze roams my face, and I’m aware he’s sitting so close I can count the wispy strands of his lashes. “I didn’t expect to see you here,” he says.
“Yeah, I’ll only be here for a month until I find an apartment.”
“Here in New York?”
“Yes,” I remember that my plan is to seduce him, and the best time is now since Riley is absent. But an icicle of fear lodged in my heart at the thought of being rejected.
“I like your dress.”
I meet Alec’s gaze again, and my lips slightly part at the fire in them. If I didn’t know better, I’d think he is attracted to me, too .
“Thank you.
“Damn.” He suddenly rises to his feet. “I should leave before I do something we won’t be able to return from.”
He starts to walk toward the door, but I shoot to my feet and grab his arm. I’ll probably regret this in the morning, but all I care about is now. Alec freezes, his eyes darkening as he stares down at me. He jerks his arm away, and I’m about to crawl away in rejection when he sinks his hand into my hair and tilts my head back.
Before I can act, he claims my lips in the fiercest kiss I’ve ever had. I melt into his arms, kissing him back with equal vigor. Alec’s hand sweeps down my body sensually, setting my blood on fire.
“Oh, Jasmine,” he groans into my mouth while his arm falls to my waist and drags me against his body. “I’ve wanted to do this for years.”
The confession sends a shock wave to my brain, and I realize that our attraction is mutual.
Alec pulls away with a gentle growl while running his hand through his hair. “I should go,” he says. “I don’t want to—”
My hand reaches for the zip at the back of my dress, and his eyes widen when I gently drag it down. The dress falls down my body, revealing my matching silk lingerie set.
“Fuck!” Alec pulls me close again. “Jasmine…”
He looks torn, and I can tell he’s struggling with himself. However, I’m not letting this opportunity pass by without taking full advantage. I unzip the fly of Alec’s pants and drag down his briefs. His dick springs free, and I gasp at the sheer size of him. I should have expected it from a man like Alec .
“What?” He grabs my face in his hands and leers at me. “Does my size make you want to change your mind?” He teases, his hands sweeping down to my crotch and pulling my panties aside.
“Alec,” I gasp when he touches my clit before sinking his finger into me. “You’re so tight,” he growls, blue eyes dark with lust. “Let’s get you ready for me, hmm?”
He picks me up and lays me on the couch, dragging my panties down my legs until I’m bare before him. He spreads my legs, his tongue running over his bottom lip like he’s staring at his favorite meal.
“You are so pretty, Jasmine,” he says softly, lowering his head to my pussy. He teases my clit with his tongue until it hardens into a tight little nub. Pleasure erupts in my body, and I delve my fingers into Alec’s hair to keep him there. This still feels like a dream, but the rush of pleasure provided by his tongue grounds me in reality.
“Fuck, you’re so wet,” Alec growls, pushing up to kiss my lips. I’m desperate for him, and I reach between our bodies to touch his erection and guide it to my heat. He grabs both my arms and holds it above my head, his eyes roaming my face.
“This is better than I imagined,” he says, pushing into me. My eyes drift closed as he impales me, filling and stretching me beyond the usual. I clamp my legs over his body, urging him to go deeper. Alec’s arms surround me, and the gesture touches my heart, sending it into overdrive. I can already feel an orgasm swirling in my belly, and I know it’ll be the most groundbreaking one I’ve ever experienced.
“Oh, fuck,” Alec growls, his teeth sinking into my neck. “I can’t hold this anymore. I can’ t.”
He continues to thrust into me, hitting my pleasure spot each time he drives in. “Alec.” My eyes roll into the back of my head, and my muscles go taut. “I’m cumming.” I get the words out just in time for the euphoria to burst behind my eyes and catapult me into an ethereal plane.
In the corner of my mind, I’m aware that Alec is groaning and thrashing above me as he experiences his orgasm, but my pleasure is so intense that I cannot comprehend any other reaction.
“Jasmine…” Alec slowly shakes me, bringing me back to reality.
“Hmm?”
“We should—”
The sound of a car engine interrupts Alec, and my body grows cold with fear. I struggle to sit up, grabbing my dress from the floor and running to the window to see Riley descending from his vehicle. “It’s my brother.”
“Relax,” Alec says, looking unfazed.
I gape at him. “Alec, zip up your pants. Please.”
He rolls his eyes and thankfully obeys. I take one last look at him before running up the stairs.
“Jasmine—”
I’m tempted to go back to him, but I hear the door open as I round the curve in the stairway, and Riley’s chirpy voice slams the truth into my head. I’ve just had wild sex with his best friend, Alec, and I do not regret it one bit. I hurry into my room and slam the door shut, still in disbelief at what happened.
