Chapter 65

SIXTY-FIVE

JONAH

Baby Girl: Congrats on your big win tonight!

Baby Girl: I’m so freaking proud of you!

Baby Girl: I’ll meet you in front of the arena *kiss face*

T he roar of the crowd still rings in my ears as I step into the hall, sliding my phone back into my pocket.

Tonight’s game clinched the deal. We’re heading to the semifinals and the adrenaline in my veins matches the jeers and raucous celebrations still echoing throughout the locker room behind me.

Everyone’s headed out to the club tonight to party but I couldn’t care less.

Sutton’s here.

She actually came to cheer me on. Ever since that game our Freshman year I’ve been careful not to push her, but tonight she surprised me.

I never would’ve asked her to show but she knew how important this game was, how big a moment this win is for me.

All I want to do is grab my best girl, throw her over my shoulder and go find a way to celebrate just the two of us.

We haven’t spent as much time together lately between our hectic schedules and her hanging out with that new douchebag she’s been seeing. But tonight, she’s here alone, just for me. And we’re gonna party it up like we used to. It’s gonna be the perfect -

“Oh my goodness! There he is! Our sweet boy!”

I freeze, shock rocketing through me as I see the last people I ever would have expected to be waiting just down the hall.

“ Mom. Dad. Keagan ? What are you guys doing here?”
