Jake
Afew days later, once the team returned from our break, Coach sat us all down and informed us that an official investigation was being launched against Eric and that he was suspended until the investigation concluded.
He didn’t tell the team the specifics because he couldn’t disclose such personal information, but as it always happens, and hockey players are a bunch of gossip girls, rumors started to spread and theories started to form.
Once we were back, Kailyn and I agreed that she would pull her brothers aside and tell them about everything by herself. So, after practice she pulled them into her office and told them the story from the beginning, while I stood behind her and let her take the lead.
Her strength and resolve in that moment was so beautiful and powerful to watch. She held her head high and even when her brothers were filled with rage and frustration, rightfully so, she remained calm and centered, handling everything with so much grace.
Once they both calmed down and relented to let Kailyn handle this how she wanted, Brayden walked over to me and pulled me into a bone crushing hug.
“Thank you for standing behind our sister and being there for her. I’m grateful that it’s you she has by her side.”
Brandon also hugged me, sharing similar sentiments, and in that moment, any insecurities or doubts that I didn’t even realize might have still lingered vanished.
I truly feel that we’ve come full circle, and everything is slotting into the right space just as it was meant to.
She also filled in Lainey on her own time with the girls, and I trust that they all have her back with everything, which I know she’s grateful for.
It’s been a couple weeks since then. Of Kailyn spending all her time at my place, waking up to her in my arms or the smell of breakfast in the air and walking out to see her in one of my t-shirts as she listens to one of her many audiobooks.
My heart warms at the thought that she’s so comfortable in our life now.
That she’s in a place where she can let her guard down and know that I’ll be right there to catch her when she has a bad day or when she needs that reassurance.
With the way our schedule was set, we ended up having Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, and are celebrating the holidays with her family at their house.
It’s the first time I’ll be seeing them as their daughter’s boyfriend and while I know that the Taylors love me like a son, it still means a lot to me to do things right this time around.
I pull my truck into her parent’s driveway, putting it into park before turning towards the passenger seat, where she sits already facing me.
Today, she’s wearing a long sleeve white sweater that hangs off of one shoulder that’s tucked into an above the knee length burgundy skirt.
Her make up is simple, a small dusting of eye shadow to match the color of her skirt, and just the sight of her right here next to me makes me want to reverse this truck right back to my place so that I can toss her on my bed and have my way with her.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” She asks with laughter in her voice.
“I’m tempted to take you back to my house and rip these clothes off of you,” I rasp.
“Hmmm,” she hums, unbuckling her seatbelt and hopping over the center console, straddling my lap. “I have an even better idea.”
My hands come up to her ass, holding it up so that she doesn’t accidentally blare the car horn. As they slide underneath the hem of her skirt, I push the fabric aside, slowly teasing her entrance. She reaches down, her hand pushing back my seat until there's a bit more room for both of us.
“Someone’s feeling adventurous.” I love every side of her, but over the last couple weeks, it’s like something has shifted with her. She’s more confident in herself, more assured in her actions and movements, especially when it comes to her body.
Last week after a shitty loss, she came home with me, and she spent the night taking care of me.
As soon as we walked in the door, she dragged me to my bed, where she then proceeded to strip tease for me, giving me the sexiest lap dance I’ve ever had in my life, before riding my cock all night long.
Let’s just say, it was some of the best sex of my life.
“What can I say, there’s just something about you that really gets me going.” Kailyn slowly grinds down into me, my cock straining against the fabric of my pants.
“Baby girl, you’re going to make a mess of me before we go inside.”
She slows her pace, looking up at me with flushed cheeks and heavy breaths leaving her lips. We sit there for just a few moments, and as I try and will my erection down, there's a hard tapping at my window followed by a loud yet muffled “Really? In the driveway?”
Kailyn laughs, her head resting on my chest before I join in, because of course all three of her siblings would catch us in a compromising position like this.
This will definitely make it into the Blaze Squad group chat in no time.
I push the strands of hair that have fallen from her fishtail braid behind her ear, cupping her cheek and giving her a small peck on her lips, making sure she’s presentable before opening my door and helping her out.
We both straighten our clothes, and I look over to see her brothers have their backs to us as they face the street.
“You can turn around now. Nothing to see here.” I tell them as my arm winds around Kailyn’s waist.
They all turn to face us, Brandon’s cheeks flushed a pink color while Brayden wears a look of pure horror. Lainey is the only one to fully smile at us, happiness shining in her gaze.
“Seriously?! I thought you’d keep it tame for five minutes.” Brayden yells dramatically, his hands outstretched to his sides.
“Oh come on, Bray. You didn’t actually see anything, so quit whining. And as far as I’m concerned, it’s payback for all the things I walked in on you doing over the years with girls or the stories that I had to hear about.” Kailyn throws back.
Brandon snickers beside him, and Brayden gasps in mock horror.
“You’re really turning on me, twin?”
“No,” Brandon says, turning to Bray. “But Kailyn does have a point. I mean, I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten the worse end of the stick with being next to you all day every day, so I’m just gonna sit this one out and enjoy from afar.”
“Oh hush, you. Let our sister be happy for once. This is her moment, not yours.” Lainey walks up to Kailyn, lacing their arms together before dragging her up the driveway.
We all laugh, even Brayden, before the three of us follow the girls towards the front door of their house.
“Alright, everyone dig in!” Sam exclaims, as we all start passing around dishes, the sound of utensils hitting plates echoing in the room.
Everyone piles their plates high before we all start to dig in.
As I take the first bite of mashed potatoes, I taste a perfect balance of creamy goodness mixed with buttery richness.
Ugh, I’m in heaven.
There’s not much said for the first few minutes, until Nathan decides to break the silence.
“I’m glad the schedule worked out for you boys this year.
It’s really nice to have all of my kids home for the holidays, especially you, sweetheart.
” He looks right at Kailyn when he says the last part, no harm or ill intent in his words.
While she was home for Thanksgiving, this is her first Christmas home since she left for school, and I think they all recognize the significance of this moment.
“I’m happy to finally be home and be with my family again.” She smiles at him, her hand reaching under the table and lacing with mine.
“Yeah, it’s nice not to feel so outnumbered by the men in this house anymore,” Lainey teases, and we all laugh, because even with Kailyn back home, they’re still outnumbered since I’m here.
“Where did you learn how to count, Lain? You realize there’s three of you and four of us.” Brayden gestures to the table as he speaks, and it feels really nice to be included like this.
“Fuck off,” Lainey sasses, throwing a roll at her brother across from her.
“Seriously, what the fuck?!” Bray ducks, and the roll flies over his head towards the wall.
“Language!” Their dad yells out.
Then, their mom gets in on the fun. “Stop throwing food in my house.”
There’s laughter filling the room from every angle, and my heart warms at the love this family has for each other.
“As annoying as Bray is, he has a point, Lain. Technically speaking, there are four men in this family and only three women.” Brandon chimes in after everyone has settled.
“Yeah, but us girls still rule this household, right Kay?” Lainey asks.
Kailyn looks at each of us, before her gaze stops on me. “Yeah, I think that sounds fair.” She’s smiling so bright, and I have to hold myself back from leaning over to kiss her right in front of everyone.
She winks at me, and I decide now is the time to tell her parents about us.
“So, I hate to ruin the mood, but I was hoping to talk to you both about something important.” I turn my chair slightly so that I’m facing her parents head on.
“You can always talk to us, Jake. My children might joke about things, but they are one hundred percent right in saying that you are part of this family. You always have been.” Sam reaches her hand out, placing it on my forearm, and I smile gratefully at her.
“I’m so happy to be part of this family. You all have done so much for me over the years, especially after my dad passed, and it means the world to have you all in my life.”
Sam softly smiles, while Nathan looks on, his eyes bright and attention fully on me.
