22. Bea

When I walked out of work at the end of the day, I didn’t expect to find Corvin and Ezra waiting for me. Usually, only one of them came for me, the others sticking closer to work until dinner-time.

“Oh, what’s this about?” I teased as I walked towards them.

“It’s date night.” Ezra said. That was when I noticed they had dressed up a little. Ezra was wearing dress pants and a green, short-sleeve button up. Corvin was in all black, and they were both equally as delicious.

“I’m not dressed up,” I started to protest.

“You’re perfect, and if you’re not happy with it, you can change at the hotel,” he said with a grin.

“‘The hotel?’” I questioned, confused now. “We can’t, we have Phoenix and what about Apollo?”

“He’s staying behind with Phoenix,” Ezra said. “She said something about having a secret phone call with Holt tonight, and this date isn’t really Apollo’s style, so he offered to watch her for us.”

“But I didn’t pack anything.” I tried to protest again, but they weren’t having that.

“It’s okay to let us handle things,” Corvin said gently. “This isn’t a trap.”

All his gentleness hit me square in the chest. I really did have a problem holding myself back with them at times. Without even realizing it.

Ezra gestured at the SUV behind them. “Don’t worry, we’ve already got you covered.” Another way of saying they were taking care of me. Something they promised often.

More than that, they followed through.

“Alright,” I said, shaking my head, but excitement started to bubble up now. “What are we going to do?”

“We heard that there was this orchestra over in the city, one that’s putting on this huge performance dedicated to popular books. Tonight’s theme is magic.”

“Oh my gosh,” I said, excited now. I’d never been much for classical music, but I had a feeling that was about to change.

Ezra pushed off the car before taking my hand and leading me towards the door.

Once I was buckled in, they both climbed in. The inside of the car was freshly cleaned. I could smell the faint trace of cleaning agents, but not enough to steal away the scent that always lingered in here from my pack.

“Hopefully, you like what Apollo picked out. We thought you should have something new. We looked at what everybody wore to these events and tried to find something that matched.”

My chest ached. It was so hard to get used to how perfect they were.

“No, no more worrying,” Corvin accused playfully.

“For once, I’m not,” I promised him. “I’m excited.”

“And don’t worry, we already stopped for snacks,” Corvin said, changing the subject. “For tonight, all you have to worry about is enjoying yourself and relaxing. It’ll be good for the baby,” he said, giving me a wink.

He may be acting like it’s no big deal, but I knew my alpha well enough to realize that he meant what he said.

Of course, they didn’t just book any hotel. They booked a pack suite at one of the most expensive places.

“I don’t need something this lavish,” I gasped as I stared up at the chandelier in the lobby. They squeezed my hand in reassurance.

“We know,” Corvin said easily, “but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to make sure you get spoiled the way you deserve from time to time.”

I bit back any response, knowing it was useless. They were adults, and I had to trust that they weren’t going to go over the top. He was right. It wasn’t like they did this kind of thing often.

“This is a once in a lifetime event,” Ezra said. “We didn’t want you to miss it, and we wanted to make a whole evening of it.”

“Well, I appreciate it,” I said as they led me to the check in kiosk.

“Then that’s all that matters, siren,” Corvin said before tapping the screen and starting our check in.

While he secured the room and brought us upstairs, I let all of my insecurities fly away.

Once we were inside, I snagged my bag and went to the bathroom, turning on the shower. It was one of those waterfall-style ones, but there were also shower heads coming out of the wall with massage settings. I didn’t hesitate to step inside and let them work out all the tension in my body.

The dress they picked out was gorgeous. It was a red dress with a flowing skirt. The top was draped around my shoulders in a delicate wrap that was both pretty and accentuated all of my features.

I felt confident in it. Truly, I felt every bit the goddess Apollo liked to call me.

Not wanting him to be left out, I let him have the first peek, setting up my camera and posing, taking a picture before sending it in a private message to him.

His response was almost immediate.

Apollo

Gorgeous, Goddess. You look stunning. I knew the red would look great on you.

Me

I feel like one right now.

Apollo

Good. I want you to always feel that way.

My throat tightened as I fought off tears. I swear, these hormones, mixing with how sweet these men were, was a constant battle.

“We need to leave soon,” Ezra called out, knocking gently on the door.

“Coming!” I called back, glancing at the clock. I hadn’t realized that I’d been in there for almost two hours.

And not once had they complained. They truly were too good to me.

I slipped on my matching red heels. The ones they’d picked out of my closet. They were just wide enough that they didn’t bother my feet, because I swear, things were already starting to swell.

When I walked out, both of their eyes widened.

Corvin was the first to move, stepping closer and sweeping me into his arms, kissing me deep enough that he bent me backwards. My face flushed and my scent swelled around us, the caramel and toasted almonds thick in the air.

He groaned against my lips. “Don’t tempt me, siren.”

“That’s my job,” I teased, nipping at his lips before he released me.

Ezra didn’t hesitate to pull me into his arms next, teasing his lips along my neck and making me shiver.

“You guys have to stop before I can’t walk out of this room,” I argued, “I’m not missing this.”

“We’ll be on our best behavior,” Ezra lied, but he at least released me.

“Later,” Corvin promised. “When we get back, we’ll make you feel so good tonight, siren. Just be patient.”

“‘Patient’ isn’t my strong suit,” I complained, even though I was the one who told them no.

“Oh, we know,” Corvin said as he led me towards the elevators.

I tried my best to not think about their promises as we drove across town towards the concert hall where the symphony was taking place. I started to get nervous as we filed in.

The crowd was big, and the last time we were in a crowd like this, I’d spotted Cameron.

I wouldn’t let him ruin tonight.

Every worry fell away as the concert started. There was a large screen on stage behind them that projected the book covers and art associated with the scenes as the orchestra played.

Between the lights, the art, and the music, it brought the scenes to life in a way I’d never seen before.

I’ve read most of the books. By the end of the concert I had a few extras for my ridiculously long to-be-read list.

When it finished and the applause died down, they directed us toward the lobby where they were selling merch and soundtracks. I made sure to snag one, holding it up to the guys with a grin.

“Me and my friends will have one heck of a girls’ night with this,” I said proudly. “Oh, or maybe book club. It’s been a while since we’ve had a meeting.”

“That sounds perfect,” Ezra agreed as he led me through the crowd filling the lobby.

“Are you hungry? Should we get dinner now?” Corvin asked as we pushed outside again. The fresh air was perfect, but then they were close, one on either side of me so their scents chased away the smells of the city.

My mind was already going in a very different direction than food.

“Aren’t I always?” I teased. “But I think I’d rather order from the room.”

Ezra’s embers, oak, and vanilla mixed with Corvin’s stronger, warmer scent of amber, orange, and smoky cedar. It already had me salivating, and it was like no time had passed since they were teasing me on the way out of our room.

My body was on fire for my mates. This pregnancy had everything heightened, and my omega was more needy than ever.

She needed this more than dinner.

“Your wish is our command,” Corvin said. “Let’s get you home, sweet omega. I can’t wait to peel this dress off of you. It’s been killing me all night.”

“Remind me to thank Apollo,” Ezra agreed, his voice deeper now.

The moment the car door closed behind us, our scents intensified, filling the space. My mouth went dry, heat licked at my skin, and my body ached. Keeping my hands to myself was a struggle.

I let out a yelp as soon as I stepped out of the car when Corvin rushed around and swept me into his arms, holding me bridal style. His strides were quick, carrying me towards the front door and then into the lobby.

“You can put me down, you know,” I teased as he pressed the button for the elevator.

Ezra moved in closer, pressing his body against my front, sandwiching me between them.

“Not a chance, omega. No one else gets to scent you when you’re like this.”

I should’ve known they were scent marking me. The way Corvin held me against his chest, his face nuzzling into mine, and Ezra was doing the same to the other side, drowning out my scent in theirs was a dead giveaway.

Before I knew it, the elevator doors were opening, and we were locked inside, our scents thick around us again, filling the tiny space. Thank God we were alone.

I don’t think I breathed again until our door was closed behind us and he finally put me on my feet. But not before Ezra carefully took off my heels, rubbing the arches of my feet and making me groan. It was funny how quickly I could go from independent omega to putty in the hands of my pack.
