CHAPTER 59

Riven

SouthBound - Artemas

Iwant to throw up.

I feel my throat tighten.

Suddenly, Evren presses a hard kiss to my forehead.

His hand shifts from my cheek, clamps and tightens at the back of my neck, the other grips my jaw, his fingers digging.

“Fucking look at me, Riven.” He growls dangerously.

A shiver runs down my spine, warmth spreading through my entire body despite the horror.

He pulls back just enough to rest his forehead against mine.

Slowly, I look at him.

His eyes glow like they're on fire, his breaths ragged.

His thumb brushes over my lower lip with pressure.

My lips part on a soft, shaky breath and my gaze drops to his lips and snaps back at his eyes.

For a full minute, we do nothing but stare at each other.

Our ragged breaths mingle in the silence.

My hands, which had been hanging limply at my sides, slowly rise until they grip the bloodstained collar of his dress shirt.

Hard.

My heart pounds so violently I swear it's about to burst from my chest.

His eyes narrow and then he chuckles darkly.

“There you are.” he whispers. “You are unbelieva—”

I yank him down without warning, shutting my eyes and cutting him off by crashing lips against his.

For ten seconds, his hands don't move. His entire body goes rigid, frozen in place.

Then I feel him relax.

The hand cupping my chin slides to my cheek, while the one around my throat tightens ever so slightly.

I feel his lips slowly begin to move against mine.

My eyes snap open, I realize what I just did.

No.

No.

“Fuck.” I hiss through my teeth.

I just kissed Evren, the monster, the psychopath. The man I use, I hate.

I pull back abruptly, my eyes widening, watching his face.

Evren looks stunned.

I need to get the fuck out, I shouldn’t have done that, it was impulsive.

I watch the corner of his mouth twitch before slowly curling into a full smirk.

Absolutely not, I don’t have the mentality to deal with him, I just stabbed a person and kissed him.

I turn my back on him and press the back of my hand against my mouth.

I start walking away, blushing furiously, mortified by what I just did.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

That isn't normal, I can't just kiss monsters like it's nothing.

Oh my God... This is—That was our first kiss.

I just stabbed a man's eye and kissed the very man I’m supposed to despise, who killed him, who cut Liam's wrist, who kidnapped me and forced me to work on his car, who—

Suddenly, a hand clamps around my wrist, spins me around, and the other tangles in my hair at the base of my skull, yanking me back until my spine hits the wall.

I gasp in pain, my back is probably bruised from earlier.

His lips crash into mine with bruising force.

I freeze for a heartbeat.

Then I completely melt.

I kiss him back, my lips moving with his, it's all teeth, desperation, and angry heat.

A fucking collision.

His hand slides from the back of my head to my throat, while the other releases my wrist to hook beneath my thigh and lift me.

The dress hikes up with the movement.

I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, one hand tangling in his hair.

It's messy, violent, the blood covering both our faces smears together.

A low, approving sound vibrates through his chest, half growl, half grunt.

I feel him deepen the kiss instantly, claiming the space I willingly gave him.

The warmth of his lips against mine...I can't think.

I want it, I need it.

We finally break apart when we need air.

Our forehead presses together.

I can’t believe what the fuck is happening right now, but I don’t want it to stop.

“Don't you fucking dare run now.” He leans in, brushing his lips against mine. “You can't kiss me and then walk away like it never happened.”

“Shut it... I’ll run if I want to…” I mumble, still panting.

His own face is flushed, his lips are swollen from the kiss.

“Mmh...” he grunts roughly.

“That’s bad, we can’t just kiss in the middle of bodies.” I whisper.

“Yeah, that’s bad.”

I pant, completely fucked by my actions and his.

I want it, he is… Him.

“Fuck it.” I say.

“Yes, fuck it.”

He kisses me again, our lips clash together.

His hand holding me on his waist slides backward and grip my ass, before he dips his head and trails hot, biting kisses down my jaw to throat.

He growls before biting down my neck and sucking it leaving a mark.

I gasp and tilt my head on the side, giving him better access.

He releases my skin with wet pop and his teeth grazes my pulse point.

The sensation of pain is fucking addictive.

He grinds his already-hard length against my inner thighs.

“F… fuck…” I murmur, shaking.

“That’s right, fuck.”

The hand around my throat slides between our bodies.

I hear the zipper of his suit pants—now stained with the blood from his gunshot wound and the guards' blood—being yanked down.

I look down, his cock is out, the piercings harsh under the lights.

I look back at him.

His hand moves between my legs, hooks my thong aside, and plunges his finger in.

I start to moan, completely forgetting about my period but I feel a sudden pressure and a yanking, he just took out my menstrual cup and tosses it aside before aligning himself.

The thick, pierced tip of his cock pressing against my entrance, already slick with my arousal and my own cycle.

“E-Evren…”

He doesn't answer.

He just thrusts in a brutal motion, burying himself to the hilt with a groan ripped from his throat

I cry out and dig my nails into his skull.

“Fuck!” he shouts, his voice strained. “You feel so fucking good.”

He doesn’t wait, he pulls back and slams into me again, setting a brutal, punishing rhythm against the wall.

His hand grips my hips, his fingers digging into my skin enough to bruise, holding me steady.

It feels too good, fuck.

“Mine.” His voice is low and raw.

One of his hands leaves my hip and reaches between our bodies and I feel his thumb rubbing my clit and sliding his fingers between my slick lips, plunging his fingers in before bringing them back between our faces.

His fingers are stained crimson.

Moans escaping my parted lips, my half-lidded eyes widening in shock.

Before I can even speak, he brings his fingers in his mouth, smearing it across his lips and sucking it.

Then he crashes his lips against mine, kissing me and making me taste my own blood.

I kiss him back eagerly, the taste is metallic, intimate.

His pace increases and turns punishing, not fast, but deeper, harder.

Each thrust feels like he tries to brand his name inside me.

My eyes roll back, the sensation is too much.

“Every fucking part belongs to me, all of you.”

I tighten my grip on his hair, my other hands scratching his neck.

“Yes!” I shout.

His thrusts don’t stop, I feel the pressure growing and about to explode.

“Come now.” He growls and slides his hand again between our bodies and starts rubbing my clit roughly in circles.

It’s too much, the feeling of his piercings already grinding inside and outside, his cock pounding in me and the fingers now.

With a guttural scream, I reach my peak and my body arches off the wall and I feel myself clenching and gripping him.

“Riven!” He roars, his own voice echoing mine.

He slams into me one final time, burying himself so deep like he wants to merge with me.

I can feel his cock throbbing with each pulse in time with my own orgasm.

His forehead drops against mine as our bodies tremble together.

I lift my eyes and kiss him again.

He kisses me back instantly, his free hand cupping my cheek, his thumb brushing gently across my skin.

The kiss is still intense, it’s still a collision but now it feels more like an agreement.

Neither of us is walking away.

He pulls back just enough to speak.

“Ren,” he calls.

Oh shit.

He heard us fucking, I'd completely forgotten about him. My face floods crimson.

“How much time before we get the fuck out of here? The fastest way, before anyone else comes and finds their little friends.” He pauses, listening.

“Who the fuck do you think I am? Get it ready. I want it in five.”

He sets me back on my feet, tucking himself in then he looks down at me and grins.

I tilt my head, confused, smoothing down my dress even though it's already ruined.

“Well,” He says, flicking my forehead before clearing his throat, “We're leaving. Now.”

I rub my forehead and punch him in the ribs.

“And how do you intend to leave? We’re surrounded by cameras, guards are coming, you’ve been shot, I got hit, we can’t just—”

Evren's arms snake around my waist, bends down and throws me over his shoulder.

“What are you doing?!” I gasp in surprise. “Put me down right now, Evren!”

“Ren? Ready?” I feel his grip tighten around my thighs. “Hold on to me.”

“What? Why?”

I don't even have time to process the order before he starts running.

I lift my head and see guards turning the corner of the corridor.

Their faces shift from horror to lethal determination after seeing the bodies of their colleagues.

But we're not running toward the elevators.

“Where are we going?!” I shout.

“I said fucking hold on!” he snaps.

Suddenly, he leaps, a deafening crash drowns out the pounding footsteps and the guards' shouts.

For a heartbeat, I feel weightless.

What the fuck is happening?

I look up—a shattered window and no floor beneath us.

My eyes widen in pure terror, I scream and wrap my arms around his waist as tightly as I can.

“Fuck yeah! That’s right baby!” Evren howls, laughing.

He just jumped out of the fucking window, in a suit with me slung over his shoulder wearing a dress.

From the hundredth floor.

We're going to die.

I hate him, I fucking hate him.

I'll hunt him in Hell, I swear I'll make his afterlife worse.

“You are a psychopath!” I scream, pure hatred and fury tearing out of my throat.

The wind tears the scream from my lungs.

The city becomes nothing but streaks of harsh colored lights beneath us, the government tower rushing past in a blur of glass and steel.

My stomach lurches into my throat.

Every instinct in my body tells me this is it—that this is how I die, thrown over a psychopath's shoulder after crashing through a hundredth-floor window.

Evren only laughs, the sound swallowed by the roaring air.

He is happy to die? Good for him.

I’m not.

Something flashes below us.

A massive steel platform rockets upward along the side of the building, riding recessed magnetic rails embedded into the facade.

Blue warning lights pulse across its edges as hydraulic arms unfold beneath it, far too fast for any maintenance equipment to move.

We slam onto it.

The impact rattles every bone in my body.

Evren hisses through his teeth.

The platform drops several more floors under our combined weight before magnetic brakes shriek against the rails, throwing a shower of sparks into the night.

I cling to Evren with everything I have, my heart hammering so violently it hurts.

Before I can even catch my breath, the platform surges downward again.

A startled cry tears through my throat as we fall again.

We rocket along the side of the skyscraper, windows whipping past close enough to touch.

Wind lashes my face and tears at my dress while the broken window high above disappears into the distance.

I risk one look over the edge and instantly regret it. The streets are impossibly far below.

“We're still falling!” I scream.

Evren's laugh vibrates through his chest beneath me.

“Nah,” he says. “Now we're just taking the express.”
