I had thought taking her on a run would’ve terrified her. Instead, she matched my howl with one of her own and outright laughed at the whole thing like some lunatic.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, she had the audacity to look at me like I was something other than a murderous animal who could tear her into a hundred little pieces in a matter of seconds.
Like I was someone with a soul. Someone she felt safe with.
And the worst part about it was that for a moment, I almost believed it myself.
The mark’s influence has grown dangerous. It’s twisting my perception of her. Making me see her as more than just my pet. But I refuse to be controlled by some bond.
I’ll make sure she learns to fear me. To obey me.
