KRUZ

While Onyx and my dad were talking, I went to my office, opened my computer to call my customer to let him know that I needed a few more days to fix his Harley.

He was cool with it, and I am glad because I didn't want to cuss his old ass out.

I hacked into Kingston's system, ordered the correct part for delivery tomorrow and left him a nice message.

His ass is probably stuck on stupid right now.

I had to admit he was a fine ass piece of chocolate.

Picking up the phone, I called my best friend Mya to tell her about the sexy aggravating man that came to my shop today.

“Bitch,” I said when she picked up. I could hear her yelling through the phone.

“Hold on real quick. I need to cuss a bitch out.

Who the fuck you talking to with your bitch ass?

I was really nice to your bad built ass when I placed my order.

Even though your ass was rude. I said to myself, she probably pissed because she working in fast food and her line is crazy.

But now that I'm up here, your ass still acting like a rude ass bitch and I'm not the one. I will pull my car over come in there and beat your ass and smile for my mug shot when them people book me.” She yelled at the girl.

“Yeah bitch, that's what I thought. You billy bad ass until a real bitch come through. Bestie boo what's up?” she cooed into the phone like she didn't just cuss that poor girl out.

All I could do was laugh. My bestie is crazy as fuck “Yoooo, ya ass better start waiting until you get yo food before you start cussing these people out. One day they gonna spit in your damn food.”

“That will be the day I really go to jail because I will fuck a bitch clean the fuck up.”

“Why the fuck this fine ass chocolate sexy dude came in my shop today.”

Bitch I'm listening, you had me at chocolate sexy dude. Did you get his number?”

“Hell the fuck no. He pissed me the fuck off. His ass brought me the wrong part. You know I don't like missing a customer deadline.”

“Damn, you so hard on a nigga. How you expect to get a man if you always yelling at them?” She laughed.

“After that fuck nigga, I'm good on them for now. I hacked into his system, ordered my own part and expedited it too.”

“No, you didn't.” She giggled loudly.

“Yup and I left him a nice little note so he would know that it was me.” We both laughed.

“What you getting ready to do? We hanging out tonight?” I asked.

“Yeah, we can. I'm going to go home eat, take a nap, and then get ready. What time you thinking?”

“I'm going to text Ryda and Harli to see if they want to hang and I will let you know. Aye bitch later,” I said as I hung up.

I’m in a racing mood today and want to pull out my baby. I missed her. Not being able to ride my bike during my recovery and physical therapy was so fucked up. A bitch almost went into depression. Luckily, I had my smoke to keep me mellow.

Me: Bitches we riding out tonight. I'm cleared to ride my bike.

Ryda: Fuck yeah

Harli: Is there money involved?

Me: lol Harli always about the money

Ryda: yup, money and throwing that ass in a circle lol

Me: y'all off the chain but my bitches tho

Ryda: Magnolia Bridge?

Me: Yeah

Deciding to work on another customer's bike before I left for the day, I went to my computer and pulled up the work order for the next bike on the list. Before I had a chance to get started, I heard a buzz and looked over to see my phone ringing again. It was Mya so I answered.

“Hello?”

“OMG guess what just happened to me. Why the fuck my car cut off when I was about to turn. I put my hazards on and kept trying to restart it, but it would not. then my hazards stopped working too so I think it's my battery.”

“Damn, you good? You need me to come and get you?” I asked in a panic.

“No, I'm good. I called AAA and they are sending a tow truck out to test my battery and give me a jump. If it doesn’t start from that, they will tow me home.

But check this out, since my hazards are not working, I got out the car and sat on the sidewalk and left my door open.

Thinking this would prompt people to go around my car.

Some did but some just sat there waiting like dummies.

Why the fuck this Karen gonna holla at me talking about you know you shouldn't park there. The way my head turned around you would have thought I was the exorcist. I said you think I want to be parked here? If I could move, I would have. Then she says, you should have your hazards on. Fuming I said, BITCH if I could turn on my hazards I would have.”

I was bent over laughing so damn hard I could not catch my breath. This damn girl has no chill.

“Do you know what this fuck ass hoe said to me ohhhh do you need help? Lady you should have led with that no I don't need your fucking help move around bitch. I wanted to punch that bitch right in her nosy ass throat.”

“Yoooo I can't with your ass, you are a hot ass mess, but no for real are you good friend?”

“Yeah, I'm good. The tow truck dispatcher said that the ETA will be here in a few minutes. I will call you when I get home.

“Ok friend. You better call me and if you decide not to come out, I will understand,” I said and hung up the phone.

Turning around, I could see my dad coming back into the shop after walking fine ass Onyx out.

He was so tall with smooth chocolate skin, with soothing brown bedroom eyes.

He has a high curly head of hair and the whole time I was looking at him I could picture his head between my thighs and me pulling it.

Oh no Kasey, snap out of it we will not be going there.

“Dad, I'm about to work on this bike and I putting my earbuds in, so if you need me you have to come get me.”

“Ok, I'm waiting for the security company to come and give an estimate on installing the security cameras. With all the recent vandalism and graffiti, we need it now. Magnolia Valley is still a safe and good place to live; however things are changing. Which bike you about to work on?” he asked

“The 2008 Kawasaki Cruiser Vulcan 900 Classic it's experiencing transmission Issues.”

“That Smith's bike, right?”

“Yes, your homeboy.” I giggled because him and my dad did not get along at all.

My dad gave me the ‘if you don't get your shit together you know I don't like that man’ look. He just went to the back and ignored the fuck out of me.

Picking up the service order paper, I read the customer’s comment about what made him bring it in. It stated it's been experiencing difficulty in shifting gears, delays, and jerking movements during gear changes. Judging by what he said it needed a new clutch.

Putting the bike on the lift, I grabbed my tools and began taking the old clutch out.

Getting under the bottom of the bike I loosened the screws that secured the chrome cover at the bottom of the right side of the bike.

Once I removed the cover, there was access to the clutch.

After unscrewing all five of the bolts and the discs, I was now able to remove the clutch.

After removing the old clutch discs, I was able to insert the new replacement parts, then resecured them with their bolts.

Finally, I closed everything by screwing the cover back on. It only took me 2 hours to get it done.

“Dad, I'm done and about to take the bike on a test ride,” I yelled. He just nodded his head at me, and I grabbed the keys to the bike and my helmet.

Being that this is my first time back on a bike I would rather it be on my baby, but it is what it is.

Getting on the bike, I adjusted the mirrors, put my helmet on and took a breath.

I started and hesitated for a second then pulled off.

Started off slow to see how it's riding.

It seemed to be riding smooth. Changing gears went well also.

I got the speed up to 60mph. Still going well, I pulled on to the highway ready to let her rip, but it was the middle of the day, and the traffic was not really good for speed.

Just when I was about to get up there, someone pulled up next to me gave me the head nod to challenge and I ain’t no punk.

They counted down and we took off. I was weaving in and out of traffic picking up speed then I noticed the cop car up ahead.

I tried to signal the other rider, but they went faster.

I saw the exit coming up. I had to remember that this is not my bike and I shouldn't be racing anyway, especially with a customer's property.

It was just instinct to take the challenge when it was issued.

I went to the next exit changing gears and it was not having any problems. Pulling back into the garage, I parked the bike, took off my helmet and put the keys away.

I went back into the front of the shop to search for my dad and see if he was ready to leave and he was. We packed up everything and locked up and started making our way home. Halfway home, I realized I left something and had to turn back around and go back to the office.

“Why you turn around?” my dad asked.

“I forgot something and didn't want to wait until tomorrow to get it.”

I pulled up to the shop and got out of the car, as I was walking, I kept hearing this noise coming from the side of the building. It was a spraying sound like from an aerosol can or something. I know the fuck not.

I took off for the side of the shop. I heard the car door open and close.

My dad must have heard and saw my concern and followed me.

When I got to the side of the building, I could see a person spraying the wall and drawing graffiti on it.

I stepped up behind them and touched their shoulder making them jump and turn around with frighted eyes.

A beautiful young girl no older than 12-13 was staring at me.

She had on earbuds which explained why she didn't hear me come up.

“What the fuck are you doing?” I yelled.

“This is private property and you are trespassing and destroying our shop.” Although she really wasn't because what she had painted was an absolutely beautiful rendition of clouds and raindrops that looked like it could be clouds crying.

I almost felt bad for yelling at her. It was clear she was battling something and expressing it the only way she knew how.

She just stood there looking at me as her frightened look turned to one of anger. “I'm calling the police.”

Just as I was pulling out my phone, my dad came up on the side of me. He tapped me on my back.

“Hang up.”

“Why? She needs to go to jail!”

“No, she does not”

He looked at her and asked, “King is your grandfather, right?”

“Yes,” she murmured and put her head down.

“Call your brother.” he told her.

“Do we have to call him? Can I just go home? I'm sorry I messed up your wall. I just saw it was blank and wanted to make it nice.”
