Now #2
That finishes getting my dick hard, and my hand by her ass lowers to squeeze it. She jolts out of my lap with a giggle, then walks back to her chores.
Like a little tease, though, she flips the skirt of her dress, barely half a second, but enough to let me see the pink lace covering her perfect butt. “Come on, Hot Wheels,” she orders, looking over her shoulder. “More refilling the dispensers, less ogling.”
This girl … I can’t fucking wait to give her everything she deserves. Not only when we get home tonight, but also in the future.
I have six months to make it possible. Six months to ensure her investment all these years won’t be for nothing. I can do it. I will fucking do it. Not because it’s my dream, not because I’ve wanted to become an F1 driver since I was five years old.
I’ll do it for her. Because it’s what she deserves.
This is like a ride in the past. It smells the same, sounds the same, feels the same … Suddenly, I’m sixteen again, brimming with hope and love, with the entire world left to conquer.
With a tight grip on the wheel, I push on the gas harder.
Winifred roars exactly as she used to, gliding on the road with elegant ease.
So much happened in this car. I can’t believe I ever thought selling her was a good idea.
It ended up being the right call, but I can’t help but wonder if I could have made it work.
All that matters is that I have her again, and she’s all fixed.
Now that Winnie’s back, there’s really only one place I want to go. To the one person who’ll get how important this moment is for me. So that’s where I go. I drive straight there and pull into the driveway, behind the car that’s already there.
Once I’m parked, I get out before leaning back in to honk twice. Then, with my arms crossed over my chest, I rest my side against the frame and wait. I see the curtain at the window by the entrance move, then the front door opens.
“Hey,” Evie greets me with surprise as she steps out. “You’re done with her?”
“She’s as good as new. Well, probably a little better, even. My budget for parts this time around was more … substantial.”
She steps down from her front porch and walks up to the car. “I can’t believe you finished her so fast.”
“The part from Japan finally came, and I thought I’d finish the work before coming here. So you can be reacquainted with our old friend.”
Evie passes a hand over the car’s roof, eyes full of awe. “You’ve never looked this good, old girl,” she tells Winnie.
“Wanna go for a ride?”
“Now?”
“When else?”
She hesitates, looking at her front door, the car, me … After she’s done a few of those back-and-forths, she decides, “Let me get my things.”
Less than a minute later, she’s back with her bag and a jacket, and has locked her house. I open the door for her to get in, then return to my seat. “So, where to?” I ask.
“Hm … I don’t know. How much time do you have?”
“As much time as it’ll take. And the tank is full.”
She grins as she says, “How about the Great Lakes? At long last.”
“Don’t tempt me. You know I’ll do it,” I warn. “Especially since we’ll cross so many state lines.”
A pretty blush blooms over her cheeks at the insinuation. “I have to go to work tomorrow morning, so that might not be a great idea, actually. You know what? Surprise me. Take me wherever you want.”
“Alright, buckle up, princess.”
I know a place that’s perfect for this. I took her there once, in the first few months of being together. I’m not sure if she’ll remember it. But with the sun setting soon, it’ll be the perfect getaway.
The drive that follows is almost hallowed. With her here, it’s even more of a step back in time. It almost feels as if the last eight years never happened. Like we were always like this, always content, just the two of us in a fast car.
I can’t stop glancing to the side to admire her delicate profile.
She’s always been such a beautiful girl, but she’s matured into a gorgeous woman.
When I notice the earrings she has on, a grin stretches my lips.
Not only does she still have those, but she still wears them.
I spent what felt like a fortune on the gift, and seeing them and how small they are only reminds me of how far I’ve come. Both of us.
When I rest my hand on her thigh, over the beige fabric of her pants, she doesn’t swat it away. She lets me keep it there, like she did back then. And I swear, I could do this for the rest of my life. Drive us toward the horizon and never stop.
She even rests her hand over mine, which is how I catch a small yet mighty detail. The puny ring Nathan proposed with isn’t on her finger anymore. It’s gone. That doesn’t fail to send a rush of questions through my mind.
A narrow dirt path leads us to the place I picked out.
I peer at her when we arrive to see her reaction.
The open stretch overlooks a small lake wedged between the mountains.
Its surface glows under the evening light, streaks of gold and orange rippling like melted metal.
I park Winnie facing the horizon, and for a second, neither of us moves.
Then we climb out and lean against the hood side by side.
