Chapter 6
What would you think about going to a little B+B this evening and spending a night in a nice soft cushy bed. There is a shower big enough to fit two people and you will never be able to beat the breakfast we’d have in the morning,” I suggested.
“That sounds wonderful, Jack. Does that mean we’ll finally get to sleep in the same bed?” she asked. “Considering what we did in the forest a half an hour ago, I think we could sleep together now,” I answered with a grin.
I saw old man Charles gazing at us out the front window after I locked up the RV and grabbed the overnight bags that Bella and I had packed for tonight and tomorrow. I could see the wide grin on his face as we approached the front steps.
“I can show you my driver’s license if you don’t believe us,” Bella rasped with displeasure obvious on her face. “No-No, Jack has been coming here for years. I thrust him completely,” Charles answered. “Sorry if I upset you miss,” he added.
“What was that all about?” Bella hissed once we were inside of room number 4. “Charlie has never seen me bring anyone here with me before. I guess he was just surprised that I had someone so young and beautiful with me,” I answered her. “You are legal…right?” I teased.
I was happy that Charlie gave us room number 4 which was on the opposite end of the hallway where the other couple in room 1 are staying.
Besides that, this room also has a second room with another bed in it just in case Bella changes her mind. There is the added benefit that that we can show brochures to Bella’s parents that there were two rooms which we could claimed we used if they asked.
Since it was already getting to be dinner time after we stowed our overnight bags, we went out and unhitched the jeep from the RV so we can drive into downtown forks to have a nice, cooked meal at one of the diners.
There are 8 restaurants in Forks. The first one that really caught our attention was the Pizzeria. After 3 days of eating dry goods and frozen food, a nice cheesy pizza with everything on it sounded delicious.
Heads turned when Bella and I entered the restaurant. The fact that her name was the main character in all of those vampire movies didn’t escape me. At least these locals wouldn’t know her name.
As everybody stares at us while we found a booth where we sit across from each other like the other diners keep a 6 foot space between us, I hoped that some of that was because we were outsiders.
But I’m sure the fact that she is so gorgeous and I am obviously older than her is a big reason many are gawking at us.
After I ordered a large combination pizza and a two huge take out cups of iced tea to go, a young man about college age came over to the table.
“Did you and your dad just move into town?” The boy addressed Bella. “What happened? Did you draw the short straw to come over and pump us for information?” I chuckled.
“Well, I guess it is sort of that way,” the boy admitted. “I guess I was the only brave enough or curious enough to come check things out.
“Well then,” I chuckled as I reached over and placed my hand on top of Bella’s left had.
“My girlfriend and I are just visiting for a day or two. We have been testing some camping equipment out at Crescent lake this week and we thought we’d come in for some real food for a change,” I told the fella.
“Girlfriend hugh? Dang, I was gunna be the first boy to ask the new girl out,” he said.
