CH 21 - #generations
Rhys
THE PASTURE PARTY ended around 2:00 a.m., but I didn’t take Riley back to her parents’ house. I took her to mine because I wanted to fuck her like Chad was watching us. She also wanted me to.
Walking to my front door, we were all over each other and nearly stumbled to the ground a couple of times, laughing when it happened. After we made it inside my house, we took off our clothes as fast as we could, then I fucked Riley up against my living room wall until she came. Next, I carried her over to my dining room table, laid her across it, and demanded another orgasm from her body. We were out of breath and covered in sweat, but neither of us was done.
With Riley’s legs still wrapped around my waist and my dick deep inside her dripping pussy, I picked her up off the table and walked into my kitchen with her, sitting her fine ass on the edge of the counter. She leaned her head back against the cabinet, closed her eyes, and I fucked her once again until she came.
“Are you ready for me to stop?” I breathed against her face.
“Did you hear me scream for you to stop?”
I smiled. “No.”
“Then don’t.”
We were in my bed and about to go another round when Riley said, “Wait. I want my cellphone.”
“Now?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“You’ll see. Would you get it for me?”
I nodded, got off my bed, and hurried down the hallway to Riley’s purse on the floor in my entryway. After grabbing her cellphone from the side pocket, I returned to my bedroom and handed it to her.
“Don’t freak out at what I’m about to do,” she said. Seconds later, she showed me a picture of Chad. “I need this prop. I want to see him watching you fuck me like a man should. I know it’s not real, but it’s the next best thing.”
“Okay.”
She leaned her cellphone against the lamp on my nightstand, with the screen facing my bed. Then she motioned for me to get on top of her. Balls-deep in her pussy once again, she and I looked over at Chad’s smug face. After a few seconds, we focused back on each other, and round four of sex between us began.
It wasn’t long before Riley’s cellphone screen went black; however, my bedroom wasn’t dark. Moonlight was streaming down through all the windows, making everything glow, especially Riley’s beautiful face.
Still moving inside her, I thought about us having sex in the cemetery and how some folks would’ve thought it was wrong. The same applied to Riley and me looking at a picture of her ex-fiancé while we fucked. I could imagine the scoffs of others if they knew the kinks that Riley and I shared. They just didn’t know what they were missing in their vanilla lives.
“Harder, Rhys. Harder,” Riley breathed.
With her hands against my headboard, I gave her what she needed, making her cum for the fourth time and screaming for me to stop afterward. I didn’t, though. I kept going until I came and then collapsed on top of Riley—her body and mine spent to the max.
I glanced at the clock on my dresser: 09:58 a.m. Riley and I hadn’t left my bed since the last night. She was still asleep with her head on my chest, and I watched her while wishing time would slow down. Sunday was fast approaching.
Once Riley was back in Fort Worth, the reality of how far apart we lived would set in. My high school sweetheart hadn’t even left town yet, and I already missed her.
“Silverman,” she whispered, her eyes still closed.
“Ma’am?”
“I’m not going to be able to walk for a week. Holy shit, I’m sore.”
“You’re welcome.”
She started giggling and looked up at me. “What—a—night.”
“Another one for the books, just like I thought it would be. Are you ready for a cup of coffee?”
“Please. And an icepack for my hoo-hah.”
“Really?”
“No, I’m kidding.”
“I can make one for you.”
“I’ll be fine. Thanks, though.”
After snagging a good morning kiss, I got out of bed and headed to my kitchen. When I returned to my bedroom, Riley had fallen back asleep. I set her coffee on my nightstand and looked down at her, remembering the day we met.
I was at daycare when Riley’s momma walked in with her and Rachel. They were placed in the preschool class with me and five other kids. One of them was my brother.
He and Rachel became instant buddies. Riley and I also did. Our connections continued throughout the years—Jackson and I never having viewed the Martin sisters with romance in mind. But all that changed during Rachel’s sophomore year and Riley’s junior year.
My brother, some of our guy classmates, and I were walking down the hallway on the first day of school when we rounded the corner and saw a cluster of cheerleaders talking and laughing ahead of us. My attention went straight to Riley, and Jackson’s went to Rachel. Then he and I looked at each other with raised eyebrows.
Later, we discussed how much Riley and Rachel had changed over the summer. They were no longer skinny tomboys. They were beautiful young women with curves that their cheerleader uniforms hugged in all the right ways.
During my conversation with Jackson, he and I decided to pursue the Martin sisters. A few weeks later, they were ours. Still looking down at the eldest one lying in my bed and smiling in her sleep, I was going to do all I could to keep her happy, and hopefully, this time around, she’d let me give her my last name.
“Rhys, thank you so much for bringing me here,” Riley said. We’d just arrived at the nursing home where her grandmother had been for the past two years.
After getting out of my truck, I kept my hand on the small of Riley’s back as we walked toward the building. When we reached her grandma’s room, she took a deep breath, looked up at me, and nodded. Then I opened the door.
Although her grandma was asleep in bed, Riley went over to her and lightly kissed her cheek. After staring at her face for a long moment, she placed the bouquet of daisies we’d gotten for her on the table beside her bed.
Walking over to me, standing next to the window, Riley shrugged. “I wish my grandma was awake. I wanted to see her pretty green eyes.”
“You see them every time you look in the mirror.”
She softly smiled. “We can go now if you want.”
“That’s your call. I’m happy to stay here for as long as you need.”
“Okay. Just a little bit longer.”
She walked back over to her and sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her again. When she started wiping her eyes, I went to stand beside her.
“I know this is hard for you,” I whispered, rubbing her back.
“Alzheimer’s is such a cruel disease. My grandma is right here, yet she’s not. When she passes away, I don’t know what my grandpa is going to do.”
I searched Riley’s eyes, thinking I wouldn’t know what to do after spending a lifetime with her and then losing her.
“What is it, Rhys?”
I shook my head. “Your grandpa will still have you and the rest of your family. He’ll probably lean on you the most since y’all are so close.”
“And I’ll be there for him. Whatever he needs.”
“I know you will.”
Riley looked back at her grandma, kissed her cheek again, and whispered, “I love you and miss you.”
Leaving the nursing home, I kept my arm around Riley’s shoulders, holding her close. After we got back in my truck, I looked over at her.
“Do you need a break before we go to see my parents? Want to get a cherry limeade at Sonic? Cheese-tots?” I asked.
“No, I’m okay, but thanks. Seeing your parents will be a mood-booster.”
I leaned over, kissed her, and we were on our way.
“Knock! Knock! We’re here,” I said, opening the front door.
“Come on in!” I heard my mom say as she and my dad rounded the corner, smiling. “There’s my Riley!” she continued, holding her arms out toward her.
After they hugged, my dad greeted Riley with a kiss on her cheek.
“It’s so good to see y’all again,” she told him and my mom.
They said the same to her and invited us to join them in the living room. We’d just sat on the couch when my mom asked if we’d like a glass of tea.
I looked at Riley. “I know you do.”
She grinned. “So do you.”
“Be back in a minute,” my mom chuckled.
When she returned to the living room, she and my dad asked Riley how she liked living in Fort Worth and if she liked her job, the same as I’d done the morning she came to my house the first time.
She told them, “I love both, but especially my job. My boss, coworkers, and patients are wonderful.”
“That’s such a blessing,” my mom said.
“And I have thanked God for it so many times.”
“I don’t know if you’ve heard of or ever been to the botanical garden in Fort Worth, but it’s gorgeous out there. Rob and I went to it a few years ago, and I want to go back.”
“I’m not believing this!” Riley chuckled. “That is my favorite place in Fort Worth! I’ve been to it several times.”
“Small world, isn’t it?”
“It most certainly is.”
My mom’s mentioning of the botanical garden made me think about Chad videoing Riley dreaming about having sex with me and her leaving his house to go to the botanical garden because she was hurt and angry by what he’d done. I hoped that talking about the location now wasn’t triggering for her. Although she was smiling, I was still concerned and reached for her hand to hold it.
“Rhys told me that the B&Bs are still doing really well,” Riley said.
My dad nodded. “They are. It won’t be long before Janice and I hand them over to Rhys and Jackson to take care of full-time, as well as the cattle. We’re ready to retire and see the world.”
“Where would you like to go?”
“The first place is Ireland since my ancestors came from there.”
“And I want to go to France because of my ancestry,” my mom added.
“I can only imagine the beauty of both places.”
“If you could go anywhere today, where would it be?”
“Australia.”
“Now, that’s a beautiful part of the world. I hope you get to go there one day.”
“Same to y’all about Ireland and France.”
“Come on, retirement!” my mom cheered, making everyone laugh. Then she glanced down at Riley’s hand still in mine. “Sweetheart, I want you to know how sorry I am about your broken engagement.”
“I appreciate it, but I’m doing fine.” Riley glanced at me. “Ironically, Rhys has been my strong shoulder to lean on.”
“It looks like you’ve been his, too, since the catastrophe with Trisha.”
“She has been,” I interjected. “Mom. Dad. I know I told y’all that Riley and I were friends again, but we’re more now.”
“We know, son,” my dad said, grinning. “It was showing on both of you when you got here.”
‘This is fast, but—”
“Neither of you could help it.”
I looked at Riley. “No, we couldn’t.”
“I feel like I have my daughter back,” my mom said. She had tears in her eyes. Hell, we all did.
Riley stood up, walked over to my mom, and hugged her. Watching them, I was reminded of how they used to be thick as thieves. They were so close, and I knew they would be again.
As Riley and I were getting ready to leave my parents’ house, my mom said, “The next time you’re in town, Riley Dawn, come see me and leave that handsome boy beside you somewhere else. That way, we can enjoy a little girl-time. I’ll make my seven-layer bean dip and frozen margaritas for us.”
“Can we watch one of our favorite movies, too?”
“You know it! Steel Magnolias, Hope Floats, Fried Green Tomatoes, or whatever you want.”
“I’m so excited!”
“Me, too, sweetheart. Rob and I love you.”
“I love y’all. It’s done my heart a world of good seeing you two again.”
