Chapter 12

Rhinestones, Remy, and Retaliation

After all that shit happened, Mellow called me to tell me the club was packed and he wanted me to come in.

I went in—none of the very important dancers were able to work, so I knew I was about to make bank.

I headed to the locker room, got dressed, and looked in the mirror at my bone-straight forty-inch wig, a rhinestone-studded matching set, and my rhinestone nipple covers. I was leaving with a bag.

When I first got on the floor, Asha the bartender flagged me down.

“Hey, girl,” Asha said, pouring me a double shot of Rémy.

“Hey, bookie, what the fuck happened tonight?” I asked, trying to get the whole rundown without being biased.

“Girl, Jaz and Cedes got into it the other night, but to me, it sounds like her and Red jumped the new bottle girl. I’m just mad Mellow fired her ass. She’s pretty and can for-sure bring the bag in,” Asha said.

“Everyone knows Red is my best bitch, and I love Mercedes—that’s going to be my brother's wife. This shit is stupid; my sis in jail, my best friend in the hospital.” I downed my shots and walked the dance floor.

Juice was looking at me like he always does—fucking creepy.

I hit the stage and got the DJ to play BossMan Dlow ("Shake Dat Ass").

I started winning slowly. This brown-skin nigga started making it rain.

I bit my lip and started rubbing my titties while grinding hard, looking him straight in the eyes as he threw a wad of cash that looked like five hundred dollars.

I blew him a kiss and started paying attention to everyone else around the stage.

I did a handstand while clapping my booty and shaking my thighs; money was coming from everywhere.

I did a cartwheel, ended up in a split, and they were making it rain some more.

I dropped into the crybaby position and started rocking back and forth.

The brown-skin nigga from earlier started smiling, his gold teeth flashing at me.

His waves were swimming; I could tell big daddy had some money.

My stage time was over, so I grabbed the broom and a bag and started to sweep my money. I took the cash back to my locker, then hit the floor to see if I could pull a couple of dances.

Old boy from earlier walked up to me. He was taller than me, and I had on six-inch heels. “Let me get a dance, I got two hundred.” I wasn’t complaining when a dance was only sixty dollars. I took him back to VIP.

He sat down, and I straddled him. He snorted a line and asked if I wanted some. I took a sniff and got high as hell. I fuck with the white every now and then, so it was nothing.

“You’re so fucking beautiful, ma,” he said.

“Thank you. What’s your name, big daddy?” I asked.

“My name is Trent, ma. What’s your name?” he said.

“My name is Dream, baby,” I said, smiling at him.

“Dream, it’s nice to meet you. I just moved down here with my aunt. I had too much going on in my hometown; I needed a new atmosphere,” he said.

“Nice to meet you too, king,” I said, smiling.

I got up, ready to leave. He handed me a thousand dollars. I hugged him and kissed him on the cheek.

When I walked out of VIP, Juice grabbed my hand. “Stop touching me,” I yelled, yanking my arm away.

“Bitch, you must've forgot who you belong to,” he said.

“Juice, we are over. You chose Gina. I don’t know what the fuck happened to her, but you can’t come back, bro.” I walked off, grabbed my bag, and headed out of the club.

When I got to the parking lot, right as I reached my car, Juice punched me in my eye and tried to take my bag. I fell, and all I heard were gunshots followed by a loud ringing. My body went into shock. I looked over at Juice, who was bleeding out.

Trent picked me up, grabbed the bag of money, and put me in the passenger seat. He rubbed my face gently and asked if I was okay. I was so shocked I couldn’t speak. He pulled over to the side at a Waffle House and called someone to meet him. A moment later, Donny jumped in the back seat.

“What the fuck just happened?” Donny asked.

“Nigga was putting his hands on her and tried to rob her. I wasn’t thinking, so I popped his ass. Go to your cousin's club and get the tape before someone sees his body. Grab my car, here’s the keys,” Trent said.

Donny left. Trent sat there, fired up a blunt, inhaled, and blew the smoke into my mouth. I caught the smoke and relaxed.

“I just don’t understand what just happened,” I said.

“That pussy-ass nigga tried you, and I felt the need to protect you, queen. Are you hungry?” he asked.

“Yes, I can eat,” I said.

We went inside the Waffle House. Trent and I both ordered an All-Star Special.

We sat down, ate, and talked a little. I knew he was paid, but now that I was talking to him, I could tell he was a little throwed off.

This man saved my life, though. Not to mention, he was handsome as hell; I just sat and admired his brown skin and honey-brown eyes.

He would smile at me, and his gold grill would shine. My pussy was so wet.

Donny came back and sat right next to me. I couldn’t help but notice they had the exact same eyes.

“Little cuz, tell me you got something good for your favorite cousin,” Trent said.

Donny reached inside his jacket, pulled out a tape, and handed it to Trent.

“So where are those thangs at you were telling me about?” Trent said.

“A crooked cop pulled us over and took them. I’m not gonna lie, I’m sick as hell right now, fool,” Donny said.

“How are you bout to pay your pops off? That shit's crazy. I can front you $150,000 to pay the nigga off,” Trent said.

My eyes got big because I couldn’t believe he had that type of money.

“No, nigga, you the last nigga on earth I will owe some money.” They both started laughing.

“Well, I am just glad I’m around in case a fuck-nigga gets froggy. You know I ain’t scared to die 'bout mines,” Trent said.

“I just pray we don’t come to that. I’m 'bout to go talk to my pops. Where you crashing tonight?” Donny asked Trent.

“Probably your mother's house. You know she’s the only person on this side of the family that loves when a nigga comes around,” Trent said.

“Nah, nigga, roll with me tonight. I’ll meet you after I tell pops what the fuck just happened,” Donny said.

He got up, walked toward me, hugged me, and kissed me on the forehead. “I would tell you to be safe, but you're with the most insane motherfucker I know. Be dangerous, sister,” Donny said, and walked out the door.

“You ready?” Trent asked me. I nodded at him. He walked me to the car and opened the door for me.

“So I guess I’ll be seeing you around, beautiful,” Trent said.

“You should come over to my place and have a drink,” I said.

He grinned and said, “Then lead the way. Tell me where I’m going.”

We pulled off, and I pulled out my phone to call my brother. It rang for three seconds before he answered.

“Dream, what’s going on? Is Red okay? There's too much going on for me right now,” he said.

“I don’t know, I had my own bad night. Mellow called me in to dance, and I made good money tonight. I met this dude that happens to be Clo and Donny’s cousin—he was tipping me good. I tipped out early, went to my car, and Juice punched me in my eye—” I said.

“Where the fuck that bitch-ass nigga at? I’m 'bout to kill his ass,” Silk said.

“Silk, we don’t have to worry 'bout his ass,” I said.

“I know you ain’t trying to protect that nigga. Out of all the people in that club, he decided to put his hands on my sister? I’m going to kill this nigga.”

“Silk, you cut me off. I was trying to tell you I think he’s dead. I might need a lawyer because I’m not going to jail, and I most definitely ain’t snitching.”

“What the fuck happened, Dominique?” he said. He called me by my government name, so I knew he was highly irritated.

“Juice tried to rob me after punching me in my eye. I was on the ground, heard shots and ringing, and looked up to see Juice's body hit the ground. The guy from the club lifted me up, put me in the passenger seat, and pulled off. We went to the Waffle House, and Donny met us there.

He got the tape from the club.”

“So this nigga you don’t know was ready to murk someone for you? Dream, don’t be lying to me. I’m your big brother, you don’t have to lie to me—I’m with you right or wrong,” he said. I sighed. “You said Donny was with y'all?” he asked.

“Yes, I saw Donny like thirty minutes ago.”

“Damn, I don’t think you're lying. How did the cousin look? Was he Mexican or Black?” he asked.

“Oh, he was a boss man—brown skin, waves, and he had eyes like Clo, though. I can really tell they are related,” I said.

“That sounds like that crazy motherfucker Trent,” he said.

“Omg, yes, that’s his name!” I said.

“Damn, I gotta holla at him and tell him thanks for saving my sister.”

“He’s actually following me to the house. I told him to come have a drink with me.”

Silk burst out laughing. “I’m gonna give you some time alone. Don't tell me you're trying to give Superman some coochie.”

I hung up the phone on his ignorant ass.

When we got to my house, me and Trent had a nice drink of Henny. We vibed for a while, but he had to go—he said he had a family emergency.
