Chapter 47
Vip I was officially jobless because that same nigga fired me after a petty argument.
Whatever. Backpage always kept a steady stream of cash in a bitch's pockets anyway.
Besides, I sent my kids to live with my mom because she was simply a better, more stable fit for them right then.
A mother needs to have a life too; I couldn't let my whole world stall out.
“Damn, Red, I ain’t even know Silk was built like that,” I muttered, my eyes lingering across the VIP section.
“Bitch, please, he's straight!” Red snapped, waving a hand dismissively. “I don’t look at him like that, that’s my brother.”
I sucked my teeth, rolling my eyes. Red would fuck literally anything with a pulse that crossed her path; Silk just happened to be the one man with enough sense to leave her alone.
“Not too much on my man,” Jas piped up, flashing her big, dizzy face with an irritatingly smug grin.
“Why the fuck is that skinny white bitch hanging all over him, then?” I shot back, clocking the tea in real time.
“We’re in an open relationship,” her big, desperate ass replied, trying to sound sophisticated. I couldn’t even lie, though—the big hoe was well-funded, and she played the part.
“So who’s the fine-ass nigga sitting over there with Mercedes?” Red interrupted, her attention already shifting as she scanned the booth. “All of them niggas look entirely too good. It’s like a whole new character just unlocked in this bitch.”
“My thirsty-ass ex is just trying to hurt my feelings,” I yelled over the heavy bass, crossing my arms. “He doesn't want that broke hoe for real!”
“Nah, girl, that man genuinely loves Mercedes’s crackhead ass,” Jas chimed in, leaning forward with the gossip. “She completely lost her mind and got on that hard shit right after my man walked out on her.”
“Oh, so she used to be with Silk, and now she’s out here fucking the homie?” I asked, settling back into my seat, completely ready to stir the pot.
“Yup. Them hoes ain’t no better than us,” Red said with a dry laugh. “Matter of fact, I bet you right now I'm going home with Donnie tonight.”
“Girl, that little strong-ass hoe is gonna beat your ass into the pavement,” I warned Red, shooting a sideways glance at the muscular girl currently holding Donnie’s attention.
“Please, they’re basically in the same weight class. I don’t know why you trippin’, Red can throw hands,” Jas immediately defended her friend, crossing her arms defensively.
Across the dimly lit club floor, the little skinny bitch sitting next to Donnie caught us staring, shot us a vicious middle finger, and made a crude clutching gesture right at her pussy.
The entire section erupted into loud laughter.
I wasn’t even stunting that little rat; I knew for a fact I would mop the floor with her face and drag her across the tile.
I’m a certified hood bitch. Red knew how I got down from day one—we actually met three months ago in county.
She was doing a one-year stint, while I was sitting comfortably on a five.
I was locked up for popping bank accounts and running a clean five-decade lick on a high-roller client for fifty grand straight.
Red was in for prostitution. We clicked instantly, our frequencies matching the second we walked out the front gates the very same day I hit the streets.
Suddenly, the speakers shifted, dropping a heavy Sexy red track—Mad at Me.
That was all the cue Red needed. She kicked off her heels and hauled herself right up onto the leather couch, letting the entire club get a panoramic view of her silhouette.
She started working those hips, putting that heavy little BBL to immediate work.
That ass bounced with a hypnotic rhythm.
She looked up toward Donnie’s booth; his new girl was too busy looking elsewhere, but Donnie noticed.
He caught her eye, let out a slow smirk, and deliberately shook his head.
Encouraged, Red dropped lower and shook harder.
I reached up and slapped hands with her in mid-air.
I knew the drill—she had that nigga completely trapped in the palm of her hand.
“Y’all, I’m telling you right now, I am leaving with Don tonight,” Red declared over the music.
“Girl, please, it’s his main bitch’s birthday,” jas yelled back over the music. “He’s not walking out of here with you.”
The DJ smoothly transitioned into Quiet on the Creek, and the heavy bass vibrated right through the floorboards.
We all surged up, losing ourselves in the movement.
But right in the middle of dropping it low, I caught the Spanish chick sitting nearby pointing directly at Red.
I squinted, following her line of sight, and froze.
There was a bright, undeniable red stain bleeding right through the light fabric of Red’s pants.
I leaned in close, whispering urgently in her ear. “Sis, your period just broke through. Let’s move, right now, to the bathroom.”
We slipped through the crowd and locked ourselves inside the cramped stall.
Working fast, we scrubbed the blood out using the harsh, industrial antibacterial soap from the dispenser, then stood hunched over, blasting the hand dryer directly against her pants to bake them dry.
Red frantically ripped open a cardboard box and shoved a tampon in.
My good sis wasn’t about to let a simple monthly cycle stand between her and bagging Don.
That nigga looked entirely too freaky anyway; no little red light was going to stop him from claiming his prize.
We marched right back out to the section, and Red didn’t skip a beat, immediately sliding back into her seductive rhythm on the couch.
I watched them for a moment, the alcohol and the heavy atmosphere finally dredging up my own frustrations, making me want to throw my own weight around and remind Rizz what the fuck he was missing out on.
“I know for a fact that little nurse bitch can’t fuck Rizz the way I do,” I blurted out, speaking straight from the chest. “I genuinely miss him. I need that back!”
“Wait, who the fuck is even a nurse?” Jas asked, wrinkling her nose. “All them other hoes are just regular housewives. Dream is managing this bar, and Mercedes is working down at some sketchy strip club.”
“No, the Mercedes girl works at Oakland Medical,” I corrected sharply, memories of my recent headache flashing back.
“I was just in there two weeks ago because I found out I had chlamydia. She was the one who pulled up my file, told me my insurance coverage had lapsed, and tried to set me up on some rigid payment plan. I know it’s her.”
Jas whipped her head around, staring at me with an absolute stank face, her lip curled in utter disgust. “Wait. Girl, you actually had chlamydia?!”
Red immediately stepped in, mugging Jas hard. “Girl, why are you acting like you’ve never had it in your life? I’ve had it three damn times!”
“Yeah, bitch, and I’m sick of it!” Jas screamed back at Red, completely losing her composure.
She reached into her designer bag, yanked out three hundred dollars in cash, and shoved it straight into Red’s hands.
“And for the record, I have never had an STD in my life. Silk makes sure we have top-tier corporate health insurance, so you already know I get tested on the regular.”
With that final declaration, she snatched her jacket, turned on her heel, and stormed out of the VIP section entirely.
“Good riddance,” Red scoffed, watching her leave. “Girl, that bitch was never your real friend anyway. She clearly walks around thinking she’s better than everybody else in this room.”
“I don’t give a single fuck,” I said, tossing my hair over my shoulder. “She’ll be running right back to me the second Silk gets tired of treating her like the absolute nobody her big ass really is.”
