Chapter 56
Paying in Blood
Adrenaline pumped through my veins. It was time. Me and Silk were going in through the front door, while Trent, Don, and Clo hit the back at the exact same time.
When we breached the front, Rox was sitting in the living room, busy snorting powder. Trent jammed a gun to his head.
“Be fucking still. If you make a sudden move, I’m gonna blow your motherfucking brains out.”
He shut up and dropped straight to the floor. His own piece was sitting right there on the counter, but he’d been way too distracted trying to get high. I kicked him hard, and he squealed.
“Shut the fuck up,” I said. “You made this shit way too easy.”
I moved down the hallway toward a bedroom. A young girl, looking no older than fifteen, was in bed with an older man. Silk raised his piece and lowered his voice. “Shut the fuck up.” They instantly went silent.
Finally, I found the master bedroom. Me and Clo walked in. Ronnie was in bed with Juicy’s no-good ass.
Clo laughed. “Damn, Juicy. I thought you wanted me to hit that motherfucker. You out here fucking with a foot soldier.”
“Why are y’all in my house?” she asked, scrambling to cover herself.
“Bitch, this is my house. My apartment. When the hell have you ever paid a bill?” Clo snapped.
Ronnie suddenly busted out laughing.
“What the fuck is so funny, pussy?” I demanded.
“This is exactly how I found Rio before I blew his shit back,” Ronnie said, glancing at Donny standing in the doorway. “If y’all only knew who he was dicking.”
I pulled out my gun and shot him straight in the head, his brains splattering across the room. Clo drew his piece and put one in Juicy’s head.
“They’re better off without you. I’ll make sure they’re good,” Clo muttered, likely talking about her kids.
He walked into the living room and put down Rox with a shot to the head. Meanwhile, Trent looked at the young girl in the other room.
“How old are you?” he asked.
Panicking, she stammered, “I’m only fourteen.”
“Get out of here,” Trent told her. “If you say a word to anyone or I ever see you in these streets, I’ll kill you.”
Silk pulled his piece and took care of the older man who had been with her. We grabbed what we needed, set the whole unit on fire, and walked away into the night.
