38. Cassie
CASSIE
“How’s it going over here?” I ask as I approach the table of Rebels.
I hover right behind Robbie. It’s criminal how good he looks.
He’s wearing a goddamn cummerbund for fuck’s sake, like he’s an aristocratic duke, but the collar is open enough to show off the gold necklace that hangs between his firm pecs.
“Hey, Cassie.” Santi turns to smile at me. “Put our debate to rest. Sandals on a red carpet? Yes or no?”
I lean forward, letting my hand rest against the back of Robbie’s chair. I can’t resist letting my hails scratch against his shoulder blade. His shoulders barely fit in the chair, his white jacket discarded and white silk shirt barely containing his bulging muscles.
“I think you already know my answer to that one,” I tell Santi, leaning forward and letting my breasts press every so slightly against Robbie’s firm bicep.
Santi introduces me to his wife, and I reluctantly have to relinquish my hold on Robbie’s chair so I don’t dislocate my shoulder while I speak to someone four seats away.
“You guys are all welcome to come to the after party at La Boheme, by the way,” I tell the team, though I’m looking at Robbie as he drains the last of his drink.
He catches me looking and shoots me another inconspicuous wink, and I have to fight back my grin.
There’s something deliciously illicit about catching his eye across a crowded room, knowing that it’s his bed we’ll be tumbling into later.
“Sounds good,” one of the guys says.
“I better go and do the rounds, but I’ll see you later.”
I hold Robbie’s eye contact until I have to turn, but instead of heading to any other table to ‘do the rounds’, I head straight for the door leading out to the entrance, glancing one final time over my shoulder as I go. He’s still watching me.
I let my hips sway as I reach the exit, my heels clicking on the marble as I wind down the long corridor to the bathrooms. I steal inside, grateful it’s empty and take a second to fix my makeup in the mirror.
My stylist, Ana, has another dress waiting for me in the car and I’ll have a few minutes to change but I do love this one.
My favorite dark emerald green and glittering crystals that catch the light as I move.
I’ve just about readjusted my hair when the door creaks open behind me.
“Should you be in here?” I don’t turn around. Instead, I lean closer to the mirror and let my back arch across the counter.
He’s silent behind me, but I hear a distinct lock flip before his dress shoes click on the marble tiles.
Finally, he appears behind me in the mirror. His suit jacket is back on, hanging open and baring the tantalizing strip of skin at his open neckline. His eyes are dark as they catch mine in the mirror.
“I’m right where I need to be.”
Robbie’s hands clasp at my hips as I stay immobile across the counter.
“I don’t think I can wait until after the party to have you, Cass.”
I twist my hips, brushing against the erection straining his trousers.
“Hmm.” I tell him as I rise to my full height, tilting my body towards his warmth. It’s been so long since I’ve been this close to him. I want to climb inside his clothes and plaster his skin to mine. “You’re going to have to.”
He nuzzles at my neck, his lips barely touching my skin. “Not if I have to look at you in this dress for one more second.”
“You won’t have to,” I purr. “I’ve got another one to change into.”
He practically growls into the curve of my throat. “No.” His tone is firm and causes goosebumps to erupt across my skin. “I want this dress on my bedroom floor.”
“You haven’t even seen the other one yet.”
“Don’t care.” He grazes my skin with his teeth, catching my gaze in the mirror. “Wear it tomorrow instead.”
His arms wrap around me, barely grazing the bottom of my breast with his thumb, the other exploring my hips. He fists my dress and tugs, pulling my skirt higher and higher until he can brush at the skin on my thighs.
I let my head fall back against his shoulder.
“Can I?” he whispers in my ear. “I’ve been such a good boy all night. I’ve waited so patiently.”
My eyes roll back as his hands creep closer to where I’m aching for him. He lightly brushes against the silk of my underwear, and I twitch in his firm hold.
I tilt my head towards him, my lips a breath away from his. “Don’t mess up my dress,” I whisper against his mouth. “If I’ve got to keep it on.”
He groans and captures my lips with his as he plunges his hands into my underwear.
“You’re soaked, trouble.” He teases one finger through my wetness, circling my clit once, twice, before he pulls his hands away, snapping the elastic of my underwear back, the sound reverberating through the room. “Turn around.”
I’m obedient as I spin in his arms, and he lifts me by my hips until I’m perched on the counter. He rucks my dress higher, spreading my legs apart lewdly. I let my head fall against the mirror as he devours me with his gaze.
“They’ll be wondering where I am,” I tell him, tugging at the open collar of his shirt, almost ready to pop another button and peel the silk from his skin.
“Then we’d better be fast.” He shoots me a wicked grin as he drops to his knees.
He kisses a frantic path up my thigh until he reaches my underwear.
He presses an open mouthed kiss to my damp pussy, and I nearly combust. His teeth graze my hip as he pulls at the band of my underwear, tugging until I lift my hips and he can pull them away from me.
Cool air assaults me, but he quickly replaces it with his talented tongue.
He swipes through my slit and stars erupt behind my vision.
He grips my thighs with his hands as he devours me, and my heart pounds in my ears.
My eyes drift to the locked door and the crowd of well-dressed philanthropists waiting outside, unaware of what’s happening behind it.
Just the thought is enough to drive me wild, and when he crooks a finger inside me, it’s almost too much.
I arch my back as my orgasm takes over me, my heels digging into his back.
He licks me as I come down, pressing kisses across my inner thighs.
Before I can catch my breath, he pulls away, gently tugging my underwear back up my legs and into place.
“You don’t want to keep that pair?” I ask.
He smirks as he crowds me against the counter. He’s still fully dressed, barely a hair out of place after thoroughly debauching me in all my finery.
“I want you to keep these on all night. Soaked and ready for me.” He presses a kiss to my lips. “For later.”
I moan against his mouth as I kiss him again, tasting myself on his tongue.
Robbie helps me jump down from the counter, my dress falling back to my ankles. I’m briefly unsteady on my heels, but his strong arms keep me upright.
“I need to say goodbye to people before going to Pip’s,” I say, twining my arms around his neck. “Shall I meet you there?”
He nods. “I can’t believe I’m letting you take me to a party.”
I trail my hand down his waist until I can gently tug at his waistband. “You won’t regret it.”
He chuckles as he presses a kiss to my lips. “I better go see if my ride is still out there.”
By the time I pull up outside La Boheme, a small crowd of paparazzi are waiting outside. I rejected the second dress and my underwear is still damp, but at least my lipstick has been reapplied and my hair carefully fixed.
I keep my head down as my bodyguard escorts me to the door, and I barely have a second to get my bearings before Pip is in my eye-line.
“Hello, hello.”
“Great party, honey,” I tell her as I press a kiss to her cheek.
La Boheme is normally a nightclub but it feels like I’ve stepped into a Parisian cocktail bar, complete with a live jazz band and waiters clad in tuxedos.
The high ceilings are covered with plush red drapery and foliage climbs every wall.
The lights are muted and dim, so I can’t see Robbie in the crowd, but a light from the door opening behind me changes at just that second and I’m finally able to take in my best friend.
Her hair is perfectly styled, and her dress is immaculate as always, but there’s something in her smile that immediately feels wrong.
“Are you okay?” I ask her, clasping her wrists and pulling her closer. “I haven’t heard from you in weeks. What’s going on?”
She glances over her shoulder, nervously ducking her head before she turns back to me. Her chin wobbles, and I link our hands together firmly.
“Let’s go get some air, yeah?” I tell her.
She nods silently as I tug her behind me as we weave through the crowd. I spot Danny and Jackson near the booths lining the back so know my other friends are here too but we don’t stop and I don’t let go of her hand.
We’re barely through the side door that leads outside before Pip pulls away from me, leaning against the wall and taking a deep breath. The last few months of secretive phone calls, strange looks and furtive excuses run through my head.
“What’s going on?” I lean my shoulder against the wall, sheltering her in case anyone decides to follow us out here.
Pip takes a steadying breath. “It’s Callum.”
I groan. “McBride? Pip, you haven’t.”
She nods miserably. “I know. I’m such an idiot.” That chin wobbles again, and any frustration fades into concern.
“You’re not an idiot.” I sigh, brushing the hair that’s fallen in front of her face back behind her shoulder. “What did he do?”
She bites her lip. “We bumped into each other a few months ago, and after everything that happened with my dad, I just wanted well…” She glances away guiltily.
I grimace. “How big is his dick for it to be that good?”
“Cass.” Pip chokes on a laugh.
“What? I don’t get it! He’s so… eugh.” I shrug, unable to describe the level of sleaze that emanates from that man whenever I have the unfortunate displeasure of coming across him. “He literally punched your brother. And destroyed my glass table. It was imported from Italy.”
“I know but—”
“Not to mention what he put you through,” I insist. It’s so hard to watch someone you love make terrible choices and not be able to do anything to stop it. “Pip, he’s not a good man. And you’re way too good for him.”
“I know,” she moans, catching a tear as it escapes with her finger. “He was going on about taking our—whatever we were doing—public and I woke up a bit, I guess. I tried to break it off, but he got so angry.”
“Did he hurt you?” I try to keep my voice even, but my heart thuds in my ears.
“No,” she says unconvincingly. “He just said some…anyway it doesn’t matter. I left.”
My jaw tightens, and I curl my arm around her, tucking her into my side as if I can shake some sense into her.
“But now he won’t stop messaging me,” Pip admits with a cry. “Everyday it’s more phone calls. I blocked his number, but he keeps changing it, so I can’t get away.”
Fury tightens in my gut.
“Okay, we need to get a restraining order or something.”
“No, Cass, it’s fine,” she says into my shoulder.
“It’s not fine,” I say firmly. “He’s a fucking asshole, and he needs to be put in his place. God help him if Danny finds out.”
She groans. “Don’t tell him please. I just need him to leave me alone.”
I rub my hand up and down her arm. “We’re going to find you a nice guy, Pip. Not a fucking sleaze-ball. Not an industry guy. You’re going to settle down with a nice farmer. Or a schoolteacher. Ooh, or a sexy priest. The right guy is out there for you Pip, he’s just waiting for you to find him.”
“Can he start looking too, or is that just my job?”
I shrug. “You know what men are like. You might need to help him out.”
She laughs as the last of her tears dry on her cheeks.
“Okay, enough about this. I can’t talk about it anymore.” Pip shakes her head and straightens to her full height. “Now, there are quite a few Rebels in there.” She gestures to the party. “Are you ready to tell me what the hell is going on with you and Robbie King?”
