Epilogue

FIONA

One Year Later

After closing the door behind us, I plop the folder onto our dining table and then whirl around to face Killian. The flowy white dress I’m dressing opens around me like a blooming flower, and though I bought it off SheIn for less than thirty bucks, it’s still as beautiful as in the pictures.

Killian stands there, staring with those soft eyes he has only for me. “You look stunning,” he says, then sighs. “I wish I had a better word for it. You look more than stunning. Is there a word better than stunning? Exquisite? Is that a word?”

I chuckle, then end the space between us, slinging my arms around his neck. “Call me whatever you want. I’ll be happy with it.”

He hums, lowering his face to brush our lips together. “What about wife? Is that good enough?”

“Definitely.” And I kiss him, my husband. He bends and picks me up in his arms, deepening the kiss. I moan against his mouth, licking along the bottom of his lips. “Where are you taking me, Mr. McCarthy?”

“Bed, Mrs. Byrnes-McCarthy.”

Is it silly I kept my name and joined it with his? I’m still double-thinking it. After I met my father and we developed a good relationship, I felt it would be cruel to drop his last name. Also, it was because of him I met Killian. Sort of.

Killian crosses our apartment in a few strides.

It’s the same place I lived with my mother, down the block from the bar, a one-room apartment with a view of the street.

Not the prettiest thing, but rent is cheap, and it’s close to both the bar and the mechanic Killian works at.

Nothing like spending only ten minutes walking between work and home.

With my man by my side, there’s nothing I fear, even when we walk back in the darkness, way past three in the morning.

My husband lies me down, his body dipping the mattress next to me. He stops and stares at me, fingers tracing my jaw so gently one wouldn’t guess he’s a former mobster and now a mechanic.

“What is it?” I ask in a murmur when I notice his eyes drifting into thought.

He pulls a side of his lips up. “Wouldn’t you rather have more, princess? More money, more comfort?”

I brace myself on my elbows. “Are you talking about the money my father offered us?”

“Yeah.”

“No. I’m fine this way. I love working at the bar, and you enjoy the mechanic shop, and we’re happy like this. Yeah, it’s a simple life, but I’m happy. Aren’t you happy?”

Killian cups the side of my face. “So much. You have no idea.”

I shrug. “Then we’re good. One day, when we have kids, sure, he can help.

If it’s so the kids have a better life, I will let him help.

Put them through a good college, things like that.

” And I blink and Killian’s eyes have changed.

They now burn, two embers sizzling in the depths of his gray orbs. “What?”

“Kids?”

Oh, I don’t think we talked much about that. “Yeah. It’s okay if you don’t want them, though.”

“No, I do.” And his hand lands on my exposed knee, climbing my thigh. The roughness of his palm scrapes along my inner leg, making me shiver. “I want them. And since we’re having kids, we better start training for that.”

I shoot him a smirk. “Love that idea. What’s your plan?”

Killian kisses the air out of me, his big hand going around my leg to grip at my ass cheek.

He kneads at it fiercely, then hooks my leg over his hip.

A breeze hits me, then his fingers skate right over my wetness.

I gasp at the contact, breaking the kiss, and Killian growls against my mouth.

His erection pulses against my leg, and we’re both throbbing with need in a second.

“Did you go to the registry commando, princess?” he roars against my lips, never faltering the torturous moves around my clit.

“Maybe.”

He picks up his speed. “This doesn’t look like a ‘maybe’ to me.

You’re such a naughty wife. I have to put some sense into you.

” And he shoots to his feet, ditching his clothes in a second before he kneels between my legs, flipping my dress up.

Killian releases another deep growl when he sees how wet I already am.

His cock taps his lower abdomen, precome dripping from the head.

“What’s that?” I tease, licking my lips as I gape at his cock.

“Sense,” he replies, fisting the base of his cock.

“Told you I’d put some into you.” And my husband grasps my legs, bringing my body against his as he spears me with his member.

My entire focus pinpoints at the place we’re joined, flesh on flesh.

Every nerve ending in my body is on fire.

Killian holds me against him and pounds, world-rocking thrusts that bring me over the edge in instants.

Then again and again. When I think I’m done, his fingers pinch my clit, and he plays me like his favorite instrument.

I lose count of my orgasms before his sticky seed spurts into me, with no barriers between us, and I shatter once more.

Killian holds me in his arms, but he doesn’t stop. He tugs the dress off me and claims me with his lips until he’s the only thing in my mind. Until he’s the only thing in my entire world.
