Chapter 6
VANCE
“That was... an experience,” Delta says from her spot on the balcony. She lounges in one of the two chairs overlooking the ocean, her heels forgotten as she moves her toes to the evening breeze. The crashing of the waves works as a lullaby as I ditch my tie and suit and open the shirt.
“If you meant a nightmare, then I agree.” I offer her a glass full of golden, bubbly liquid, then leave the bottle next to us as I take the second chair.
Delta chuckles, a ringing sound that does weird shit to my stomach. “I expected worse.”
“How? My father literally called you out for not being skinny. As if I’d ever date a girl who doesn’t eat.”
She arches an eyebrow but says nothing. Delta watches me a moment longer, those hypnotizing eyes on me.
I don’t know what it is, but it’s impossible to move away from her presence.
She could have left already, but I insisted my parents could still come back.
They wouldn’t, but the white lie slipped past my lips naturally.
It worries me that I want her to stay longer.
That I want to spend more time with her.
“Oh,” she murmurs, then puts the glass down to fumble with something in her hand. “I should give you the ring back.”
“No, keep it.”
She cocks her head. “Why? Is it a fake rock?” And she stretches her arm to look at it under the dim light.
“No.” I would never give her a fake rock, even when I know this relationship is a lie. “Do you like it? If you like it, you can keep it.”
“Mm, it’s very pretty. Maybe a bit too big for my fingers, but it’s pretty.”
“So you’d prefer a small rock?”
“Yeah...” She snaps her head to gape at me. “Why?”
I shrug because I shouldn’t be thinking of giving her another ring. “Curiosity. Never bought a ring, so I wanted to know if I got it right.” And I gulp deeply from the champagne. What in the world is this woman doing to me?
I’ve never wanted relationships, but Delta bewitched me. With her smiles and how easily she takes life. How she defies and challenges me at every turn, never caring about my status or my money. She’s different from every other person in the world, unique, and I can’t deny how hard I desire her.
“How did you do it, anyway?” she asks, half-turning on the chair to look at me. “Find out my ring size? Was it a guess?”
I smile at her. “No. I stole a ring of yours when I gave you the computer.”
Her jaw drops in mock offense. “A thief! I can’t believe I thought I had lost the ring when you’re the one who stole it from me.”
I shrug, but she shoots to her feet, gathering the heels from the floor. Cocking my head, I watch her marching into the house, hips swaying. “Where are you going?” I call out before standing up, too.
“How could I stay in the same place as a thief?” she says, but I hear the laughter in her voice.
Picking up my pace, I laugh with her as I reduce the distance between us.
Delta stops suddenly, and I reach out to grip her waist and stop myself from crashing our bodies.
She whirls around and the humor dies on her lips.
The smell of her invades my nostrils, sinking into my lungs like a powerful drug.
I can’t move away. Can’t look away. Can’t stop touching her. My mind is a whirlwind of desire, and I can only see her.
Leaning, I kiss her. Delta sighs against my lips, parting hers to let me in. It’s just like the first time, natural and mind-blowing, and I know every kiss we share will be the best one ever. Her heels hit the ground with a thud, and her arms fold around my neck as her body collides with mine.
I kiss the air out of her, devouring her plump lips until they’re swollen.
Until she can’t think of anything else. Curling my fingers around her hips, I haul her up over the kitchen island.
She hisses to the cold marble against her legs, but desire shoots through my blood, making me think of nothing else.
I drop to my knees, rake her dress up, and bury my face between her legs.
Delta moans as I suck her panties between my teeth.
The smell of her arousal explodes in my face and I spread her knees and then rip her panties off to make way for my lips.
More moans drip from her when I lick her pussy, working her clit with my lips and my tongue until she’s bucking off the island, nails scraping my scalp, her moans climbing higher.
She comes apart, her body growing taut and then relaxing against me.
I lick at her juices, drink from her delicious taste, then sit back to watch her face.
She glows with pleasure, her chest heaving as she catches her breath.
Delta looks back at me with her eyes lit, then she slides off the island and urges me to stand. Her fingers go to my belt.
“What are you doing?” I ask her, lust making my brain go fuzzy.
“I want to taste you, too, of course,” she replies with the naughtiest look on her face. And I have no reaction. She drops to her knees and brings my pants down with her, fishing my cock from my boxers to lick at the head.
The grunt escaping me is hoarse with lust. Delta wraps her fingers around my base and laps at the head as if she’s parched. The sight of her taking my member in her mouth almost makes me blow on the spot. I grind my teeth together, taking a fistful of her hair between my fingers.
“You should know,” she says once she pulls back. “I’ve never done this, so tell me if it’s alright.”
Fuck. The idea that my cock is her first makes everything ten times hotter.
My balls grow heavy with the sight of her bobbing her head, her saliva coating me thoroughly as she lathers me in attention.
In the back of my mind, I remember I should have told her so many things.
That she doesn’t need to suck me back, that I don’t want her to feel forced...
That I’m falling hard for this woman, even when I never thought it was possible.
Once upon a time, I didn’t believe in love.
Everyone had a reason to enter relationships, a reason to be attracted to someone else.
It took me meeting her and falling head over heels for this woman to understand how it feels.
Like she’s the only person who matters in the world.
Like she’s the best thing out there. Like I can’t breathe without her.
I should have told her. I should...
Pleasure barrels down my spine, fast. Every muscle in my body tightens and stars pop in the back of my eyelids as I try to hold the orgasm back.
Impossible. Completely impossible when she’s sucking me as if her life depends on it.
I try to pull her back, but she fights against me and I spurt all over her tongue.
Delta swallows, then pulls back to lap at the head again. I gape at her, wonder filling my chest. This woman. She’s... She’s everything.
I help her up and clean her chin and the corner of her mouth. Fuck. She’s perfect.
“Good?” she asks, batting her eyelashes.
“So fucking good.”
She smiles at me and I bring her against my chest, propping my chin on the top of her head. Delta stays there for all of a minute before she steps away. “I should go home. Do you want to come with me?”
I study her eyes. “Of course.” How could I spend another moment without her?
So, I follow her out of the house, lock everything behind me, and then take her hand to cross the short distance to the neighboring house.
Delta shrugs off the dress and lies next to me in her lingerie.
I do the same, then tug her closer so she can sleep on my shoulder.
Everything comes at once. The stress of the day, the numbness after an amazing orgasm, the weight that comes off my shoulder when I accept I love her.
It makes my body warm and pliable, and I fall asleep faster than ever before.
With her, I’m comfortable with being myself.
And even when I fall asleep, she’s still with me. She’s still in my dreams.
