Chapter Nine
Salizar
The flash of fear in my bonded’s eyes as I attacked would forever haunt me, but it still wasn’t enough to stop me from claiming him as mine.
Forever. I’d known I was obsessed, had contemplated why numerous times, but I truly hadn’t believed I would ever bond him to me like I’d just done.
But the rage I’d felt when I heard he was someone’s mate?
That he belonged to someone that wasn’t me?
I’d never known anger like that before and now he would be mine and only mine.
The werewolf alpha would change his mind.
I knew as much, but once he realized he wanted my Benji it would be too late. Benji would never be his.
My lovely bonded was deep asleep on the bed, his neck now in a pretty bandage, his tongue still red with our mixed blood. He looked perfect.
I took out my phone and called my master. He would need to be informed and I’d rather have it done before Benji woke up. “Zar,” Altaur’s smooth voice said.
“Master,” I greeted. “I have chosen my blood-bonded.”
There was a beat of silence before a deep chuckle escaped him. “Have you now? Is it that little hunter you were so adamant you had to partner up with?”
I wasn’t even embarrassed by my lack of discretion. “It is.”
Another warm chuckle. “And you’ve claimed him?”
“I have,” I confirmed. “I’m waiting for him to wake up.”
“Good. It was about time you found your person. But I have to ask…”
“It was a forced bond,” I admitted, not even feeling the least bit guilty about it. Altaur wouldn’t blame me either. He’d taken his own bonded without consent as well.
“He won’t be happy when he wakes,” he warned, but he sounded gleeful as he said it, like he was reminded of how his own bonding had gone.
“I don’t doubt it.” He would be pissed, and then some, but I would soon show him just how well I would treat him.
“Remember to feed when he wakes and complete the bond before his mind catches up. It will make it easier on you both,” he said and I nodded in agreement.
When Benji woke up he would be confused and horny as hell.
We basically needed to fuck while I fed from him before our bond settled.
I doubted he would be agreeable to the fucking when he realized I’d forced our bond.
But as I looked at his relaxed expression, I couldn’t even berate myself for acting on my instincts.
I’d been selfish, but I didn’t regret it.
“I’ll focus on our new bond,” I continued, still not moving my eyes away from what was mine. “I apologize for the timing—”
“Don’t!” he cut me off. “You deserve happiness, Zar. And I, for one, am beyond pleased that you picked someone who can protect himself. You spend the time strengthening your bond, and while you do that, I’ll send more in your stead.
The hotel is warded for the next ten days. Let that be your deadline.”
“So, no leaving until he’s no longer angry with me?” I teased.
My master simply scoffed at that. “If you think ten days will be enough… foolish child.” Then the bastard hung up on me!
I glared at my phone, but then smiled softly as my gaze once again landed on my bonded. He was just so damn beautiful. A perfect human for a vampire.
His phone rang and I all but crushed the device in my hands when I saw the alpha’s name on the display.
How dared he contact my bonded?! I was tempted to accept the call, if only to tell the idiot that he’d missed his chance.
But I knew his wolf would be forcing his ass over to us in seconds if he learned, so I reigned in my jealousy.
I wanted some alone time with my Benjamin and no pissed off dog would ruin that.
I turned off his phone, pleased that we’d have no disruptions. Then I got undressed, ready for when my bonded woke up and needed my cock. I’d already undressed him, needing to see everything that now belonged to me. And only me.
I slid under the covers, a bit miffed we were bonding in a hotel room, but I would have plenty of nights with him in our shared home soon.
I hoped he didn’t mind the décor in our wing of the coven mansion.
We had plenty of room to do with as we pleased and if Benji wanted something changed I wouldn’t be opposed.
It was our home now and should reflect that.
It sadly wouldn’t happen until we’d dealt with whoever was behind the rogue vampires.
The thought soured my mood immensely. At least my human couldn’t be killed easily now.
It would take the same amount of effort to kill him as it did me.
And if he did die, I would join him seconds later. And vice versa. We were bound for life.
A soft sigh escaped Benji’s lips and I smiled at his gorgeous face as his lashes fluttered.
My human was finally awake.
