Chapter 13
Chapter
Thirteen
L eo looked away from the screen where Johnny Depp was trying not to get killed in the lighthouse to look at Torres, only to find him passed out on the couch. Slumped down with his head leaned back on the back of the couch and his mouth opened as he breathed, his body limp and relaxed as he laid dead to the world, his hair wild and his beard needed a shave but Leo’s heart warmed at the picture his man made. Leo covered his mouth to contain his snort of laughter and pulled out his phone to capture the picture, and set it as the man’s contact photo. He knew Torres was tired. The man had been burning the candle at both ends trying to find out who was a threat to him, and he appreciated the hell out of him for it. Grinning at his man, he felt the words come to him and he almost cried out in joy. He should be working on his new thriller, but his mind went straight to his story about the dark knight who wanted to save the prince. Instead of leaving Torres in the living room by himself, he ran to the office to grab a pad and pen, not wanting to grab his laptop and risk waking his man. He gently nudged Torres to lay across the couch knowing if he didn’t the man would wake up with a crick in his neck and back, then sat down and pulled his feet into his lap before he used the arm of the couch as a flat surface to write. He got lost in the story of the brave knight saving the prince after his whole family had been murdered in a coup. The knight traveling across the realms with the prince in tow and showing him all the things he’d never seen having grown up in a lavish lifestyle. He chuckled as he pictured it. Torres, the battle-worn grumpy knight who had been chosen to protect the prince. A high honor in his day that he didn’t like, the knight didn’t want to be saddled with a kid but after the kingdom fell the knight starts to see that the young prince will grow up to be a good man, firm like the king and calm like the queen. Imagining Torres as the knight and himself as the young prince gave him so many dirty ideas, he didn’t know how he was going to write them all down before he forgot them. He started on the one that poked at his mind the most. The knight teaches the young prince about all the pleasures of the body as they holed up in an abandoned farming village miles away from the bloodshed of the kingdom falling.
“Words come back?” Torres slurred as he tried to force his eyes to stay open. He grinned when Leo jumped, rubbing Leo’s thigh with his foot to apologize. He hadn’t meant to scare him. He’d slowly come awake to see Leo’s furiously writing, chuckling as he did. He could almost see the scene play out through Leo’s body. He used his whole body to write, his feet and legs bouncing, him rocking back and forth as he hummed and his shoulder shaking with his laughter. To see Leo get some much pleasure out of writing made him smile.
Leo cleared his throat. “Yeah, they did, but not for the book that I needed them for, but I think my agent will be happy with this one too.” At least he hoped so. He wasn’t looking forward to that phone call. His agent, a woman that barely reached five feet and was a retired marine, scared the shit out of him on a good day. He really didn’t want to piss her off. He’d never written a book like this before, he had always been one for romantic suspense and he hoped the newness of it would intrigue his agent enough to at least read what he’d gotten down so far before she tore him a new asshole.
Torres hummed as his eyes closed again. “I’ll let you get back to it. I just wanted to check-in. Wake me when you’re ready for bed, baby.” He snuggled down into the cushions, allowing Leo to get back to work. He was needy and would fully admit it, but he could also just sit in a room with his partner and just bask in the togetherness. He didn’t need Leo’s undivided attention all the time, and he enjoyed relaxing while he could hear the scratching of the pen flying over the paper as his man’s mind made magic.
Leo chuckled. “Ok, I will. You get some sleep Vince, I know you’re tired.” He said softly. He almost felt guilty. He was putting so much pressure on Torres and he didn’t want the man to ever get tired of him. Torres had been running himself ragged with worry and trying to do whatever he could to find out what Daegan had been into and who this person could be and for each lead that went cold he could see a little of Torres’ happiness die with it.
“Yeah, it’s been a rough few months.” Torres mumbled angrily. He was still pissed at himself for not solving this case. The one case that meant the most to him was because of who was involved and he couldn’t get the puzzle pieces to fit and it was driving him crazy. He could see Leo’s worry every time he woke in the night to find Torres not in bed but in his office, going through the files yet again to see if he had missed anything. He hadn’t, but that didn’t stop the sinking feeling that he had somewhere, or that there was something he should have thought about, but his mind wasn’t locking on it. He knew it was only out of respect for him that Kade let him be led on this case. It wasn’t a good idea to let partners be on cases together when one of them was in danger. The mind went into survival mode and important clues were missed because the mind was too focused on the other person. He hoped he was able to get his shit together soon to be able to figure this out, and he was so glad his brothers were rallying around and doing their best to find anything they could that would make it easier to piece things together.
Leo ran his hands over one of Torres’ incredibly thick calves to comfort him. “I know it has and I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done in that time to keep me from going insane. I do believe a bunch of sex is in your near future when you can stay awake for it.” Leo laughed at Torres’ glare.
Torres grinned like a dope. “Shudd up, I can stay awake for it, trust me…just give me a few to take a nap, and then I’m ready.”
Leo snickered. “Go back to sleep. I’ll wake you when I’m done.” The man was a fucking child in a big body.
Torres pouted. “I thought you said I could have sex.” He blinked at Leo. He felt like he was little and his mom took away his favorite blanket again.
Leo raised a brow. “Can you even get up?” Leo laughed when Torres’ jaw dropped. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
Torres stuck his tongue out. “Rude, I’ll just fuck myself then, thank you very much.” He grumbled, rolling away from Leo.
Leo chuckled and set his notebook aside before crawling up Torres’ body. “I’m sorry I hurt your feelings, baby, you are so big, so strong!”
Torres’ eyes lit with amusement. “Oh baby, talk dirty to me.” He wiggled his hips as he winked at Leo.
Leo’s head thunked on that powerful chest as he laughed. “I promise when both of us can stay awake and be present, I will let you fuck me into the mattress for however long you want to.”
Torres groaned. “Fuck’en hell Leo, I’m up now.”
Leo grinned as he wiggled over Torres’ hard erection. “I can feel that, but you really do need to get some sleep baby. You’ve been going for too long lately without proper sleep and this may be the only time you get for a while.”
Torres sighed, knowing Leo was right. “Alright, I’ll doze. You continue killing people in your mind and when you're ready we'll go to bed and I’ll hold you all night. How does that sound?” He was already having trouble keeping his eyes open. Damn it, he hated when Leo was right.
“Like heaven.” Leo murmured and gently kissed Torres, before moving back to his side of the couch as his man settled back down and his eyes drifted closed and his breathing deepened. Leo rolled his eyes. If only he could fall asleep as quickly as that, he’d be a freaking millionaire.
Leo worked for a few more hours getting to the conflict in the story before his eyes started to cross from staring at the white paper, and his fingers cramped from how much he’d written. He got up and stretched his lower back, screaming from sitting hunched over. “Hey, baby.” He shook Torres as he yawned.
Torres grumbled, smacking his lips as he rolled over and settled back into the couch.
Leo chuckled before he bent down and blew warm air over the back of Torres’ neck, causing the man to flinch.
Torres tried to smack Leo, waving his hand around and missing his mark by a mile.
Leo grinned and nibbled on the man’s earlobe. “It’s time to go to bed.” He teased in his ear.
Torres shot up, startling Leo so badly that he tumbled backward. Torres caught him easily. “If you insist.” He grabbed Leo and tossed him over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry and headed to the back of the house where his bedroom was.
Leo laughed as he dangled over Torres’ back. “I could have walked by myself you know?” He didn’t know whether to be annoyed or giddy by the treatment.
“Nope, you said bed. That means move it, you were taking too long.” Torres said like Leo should have known that fact.
Leo gasped and poked Torres in the butt, making sure to make it hard enough he could brush over his hole, making the man stumble.
“Fuck’en hell Leo, don’t make me drop you.” Torres grumbled as his legs shook. “If you wanna play with my hole, at least wait until we’re horizontal.”
Leo snorted at Torres’ exasperated tone. “You're the one who thought it would be a good idea to manhandle me.” He looked up in time to see his man grin.
“Well, yeah, who wouldn’t want to manhandle you?” Torres asked as he tossed Leo on the bed.
Leo gasped as he hit and giggled when he bounced. “I think you would find there’s a lot of men in this world that wouldn’t want to manhandle me…I guess it’s a good thing you found me then, isn’t it?” He asked, settling into the bed and crossing his arms under his head to watch Torres as he moved closer.
Torres sucked in a deep breath, warmed at the thought. “Yeah, I guess it is.” He crawled up Leo’s body, nipping at his skin through his clothes as he settled in between his thighs. “Fuck.” He grunted they were a perfect fit.
Leo urged Torres to give him all his weight, curling his fingers through the short hair on the back of the man’s head and grinned when Torres shoved his face into Leo’s neck and sighed. “Get some more sleep baby. I’m sure we’ll have a busy day tomorrow.”
Torres hummed in agreement. “I’ll ravish you in the morning.” He mumbled.
Leo snickered. “Oh, yeah?”
“Mmmhmmm. You were mean to mean, so you don’t get my dick tonight.” He relaxed against Leo and let the man’s laughter and gentle caresses ease him into a deep sleep.
