Epilogue #2

His words and touch have me hardening again, and he leans over to nibble at my earlobe while my cock comes back to attention. I find myself pushing back against him again. “More, Milo,” I whisper. “Need more of you.”

He nuzzles his face into my neck, kissing the skin there. “You’ll have all of me, Omega,” he tells me. And then he starts to move.

He starts off with slow thrusts at first. Softer thrusts, quieter ones that set the stage for what’s coming.

I find myself pushing back harder and harder, desperate to have more of him in me, desperate for more of that fullness, more of that burn.

I want all of him, every single inch. “Mark me, Alpha,” I tell him. “Mark me.”

“Of course I will. This is how I make you mine. I’ll mark you every single day you’re inside my territory.” I tilt my head up toward him, and he finds my lips with his for a deep, albeit slightly awkward, kiss. “Mine,” he tells me again. “You’re mine, and I’m yours. This is us. Forever.”

“Yes,” I tell him. “Forever.”

He makes an almost keening sound as he pushes all the way in, and that’s the moment where I nearly lose track of everything else around me.

All I can feel is Milo, moving faster and deeper within me, taking up every inch of my body, my soul, my mind.

I’m so hard in his hand, and I know it’s only a matter of time before I let go for him.

I want that release so badly. I chase it, running after it as hard as I can, but at the same time I don’t want this moment to ever end. I don’t want this to ever be over.

“Mine,” he whispers. “My Noah.” And that’s when I thrust up and spill all over his hand, just as he pushes into me again and I feel the wetness spill out of him, marking me, just like he promised.

It feels like hours before we move again. I’m shocked when I check my phone and realize it’s barely been forty-five minutes since we came to the shed, and Malachai and Benson and Gabe are blowing up my phone in our group chat.

Benson

Thai for Two tonight! It’s standup comedy night! Prepare for Elmore to rip us all apart. I hear he’s got materials on the new political royalty that live in Devon Falls.

Gabe

Excellent. His material on Colin’s driving was getting a little stale. I told Scout to meet us all there.

“We’ve got dinner plans,” I tell Milo. “Think we’ll have time to clean up first?”

He frowns when I tell him how long we have before the comedy show starts. “Nope, no time for cleanup.” He leers at me slightly. “I guess you’re just going to have to keep me inside you all through dinner, Omega.”

Damn. Should that sentence be ridiculously hot? Because somehow I’m getting hard again, and I don’t even care that I’m going to have wet underwear by the end of the evening.

The whole crew, plus Ellie and Amelia, have a table waiting for us when we arrive at Thai for Two.

Everyone’s excitedly ordering and planning for food sharing, except Scout, who’s seems to have sort of balled himself up in the corner of the table and has his hat pulled down as far on his forehead as it will go.

“Hey,” I ask him as I sit down. “What’s going on?”

He’s looking around furtively now, like some spy in one of those action movies Milo likes. “Nothing. I just, um, thought I saw someone.”

“Someone?” Milo sits on the other side and sends me a glance. “Someone you don’t want to see, Scout?”

Scout glances around the room again before he lets out a breath and sits up. “Never mind, false alarm. Just my mind playing tricks on me, you know?” He shakes his head. “Hey, can we get spring rolls?”

Okay, that was strange. I can tell by Milo’s expression that he thinks so too.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about Scout since he started working with us, it’s that he’s still a little skittish with his trust. I hope he’ll eventually tell me and Milo and Gabe what’s been worrying him tonight.

But until he’s ready to do that, I know all the three of us can do is keep earning his trust. If we keep offering our friendship and support and showing him he’s got a home here, hopefully he’ll eventually let us see all of him.

I can hold onto that hope hard, because I know that exact pattern is what worked for me.

Elmore Tran leaves no table in his restaurant unscathed as he takes down half the residents of Devon Falls, including me and Milo, with his jokes. I sit back in my seat, taking a bath in the laughter, the trust, the kindness of the people around me.

My new family. Once, I was worried I’d be left entirely alone in this world.

Instead, I’ve now found a family that stretches from Pottsville to Devon Falls and all the way down to New York City.

Mia and I have been exchanging maple latte recipes.

We’re going to make them together the next time she visits.

“Fortune cookies!” Elmore announces as he starts dropping one at each of our seats. “Open the one that belongs to you, please.”

“Are you offering personal fortunes now, Elmore?” Benson asks him, but Elmore ignores him as he moves on to the other table.

“Think we’ll get matching fortunes again?” I tease Milo.

He’s tapping his foot up and down against the floor, I realize. Weird. That’s usually only something he does when he’s nervous. Why would he be nervous about me opening a fortune cookie?

I crack mine open and unfurl it, ready to read it to the entire table when it’s my turn to share aloud. My eyes track down to the words, where the message from my fortune cookie is clear.

Milo loves Noah.
