“Aww, shit, it’s happening. Iva don’ made my baby lose his mind.” Diva shook her head as she looked at her son.
“He ain’t losing his mind. He’s just tired of laying up with a bitch that got more hair on her legs than he do,” Dot chimed in.
“Ain’t nobody making that nigga stay. Monty did that shit to himself and I don’t feel sorry for him,” Hank replied.
“I’m coming stay by you, baby. You’re the only one who understands me.” Monty laid his head on Dot’s shoulder.
“And you can stay as long as you want to.” Dot kissed his cheek and rubbed his head like he was a baby. Her elderly parents lived with her and so did her man. But there was still plenty of room for her baby if he needed a place to stay.
“That’s his problem now. That nigga is too spoiled.” Hank shook his head.
“And Dash ain’t?” Diva chimed in.
“This ain’t got nothing to do with Junior. And stop acting like Fonzo ain’t still on the titty milk.”
“Man, what?” Fonzo looked at his father and laughed. He could admit that he was closer with Diva than his younger brothers, but that was to be expected since he was the oldest.
“Speaking of Fonzo, I thought you said you wanted to rap with me and Monty about a few things,” Dash said while looking at his brother.
“Well, we already talked to Diva and Hank, but me and my baby are having a baby.”
Fonzo smiled happily. He and Amina told her parents too and they were just as excited as his.
That would be their first grandchild and they couldn’t wait.
Amina took a test at home but she wanted her doctor to confirm it before they told anyone.
“That’s what’s up, bro. Congrats to y’all. That’s one of the best feelings in the world. Damn, I’m finally about to be an uncle.” Dash got up to give him a hug. His brothers had Kardi but he was excited to be a first-time uncle.
“I’m happy for you, big dog. I thought you was ‘bout to tell us y’all was getting married.” Monty gave his brother a fist bump.
“Stay tuned. That’s coming soon too.” Fonzo nodded.
“I can’t wait to do another baby shower. I hope this is my grandson.” Diva was ready to spoil another grandbaby and so was Hank.
“We just want it to be healthy.” Dot touched her grandson’s hand lovingly.
Fonzo was her first grandchild and, if she were being honest, her best one too.
He not only got his two brothers in line; he sometimes had to talk some sense into his cousins as well.
Monty was her baby, but she appreciated Fonzo for always having a leveled head.
Just like her, Diva was a baby having babies and they didn’t always make the best decisions.
But she was proud to say that all three of her boys turned out fine.
Denny raised some straight killers and even his daughters were thugs.
“That’s the most important thing.” Hank nodded his head in agreement, pulling Dot out of her thoughts.
“Where lil country been at, Clo? I ain’t seen her in a minute,” Fonzo spoke up, changing the subject.
“Let her lil nervous ass stay wherever she’s at.” Diva waved him off. She loved Kim like she was family but she was too young to stress about every little thing. She was happy that Clover’s friend was able to help her with a job and that made things just a little better.
“She just started working at the tattoo shop,” Monty noted.
“Doing what?” Hank was curious to know what kind of job Kim could be doing at a tattoo shop.
“She’s just the receptionist but she loves it so far. She got a new friend so she’s been hanging with her a lot lately.” Clover was happy that her cousin was coming out of her shell.
“What new friend?” Hank felt a sense of responsibility where Kimber was concerned. Her family and his were close and grew up together.
“The girl, Tru, who works there too. She’s cool and they seem to vibe.” Clover was good as long as her cousin was. Cash gave Tru the stamp of approval and that was good enough for her.
“That’s good to hear. It seems like she’s finding her way around the boot.”
The women ended up staying over for a while, but they didn’t mind.
They ate and drank for hours and it felt like old times when Diva and Hank used to do things at their house with their boys and bonus daughter.
But, as the old saying goes, all good things eventually come to an end.
Nobody even paid attention to Denny’s girlfriend, and mother to his youngest two kids, walk up but she quickly made her presence known.
Jess was still occupying her spot on his lap and she didn’t make a move to get up.
“I guess this hoe is the reason why you can’t answer your phone, huh?” Kizzy barked angrily when she saw Jess sitting on her man’s lap.
Bitch…” Tre hissed, ready to pop off in his mother’s defense, before his father stopped him.
“Aye, lil nigga, respect your grandma.” Denny frowned as he looked at his oldest son and namesake.
Jess didn’t care if they cursed in her presence and neither did he.
They were grown but he drew the line when it came to Dot.
His oldest three didn’t play about their mother, and Kizzy knew that better than anyone.
His oldest daughter had to tag her ass once before for coming at their mother sideways.
Denny didn’t condone it but he had to respect it.
Kizzy couldn’t accept the fact that he and Jess remained close, even after they separated.
They shared kids and grandkids, and he was happy that they didn’t have no tension between them.
“Let him say what he gotta say. He got every right to defend his mother,” Dot replied.
She didn’t scold her grandkids for their use of language and she didn’t need him to do it either.
She hated everything about Kizzy and it was no secret.
She was never invited to any of the family gatherings and she knew better than to show up.
She was baby mama number three but she acted like her kids were the only ones that mattered.
It’s like she wanted Denny to forget about the ones that he had before and focus more on the ones they had together.
“So, it’s cool for him to disrespect me.” Kizzy pointed to herself for emphasis.
“Go handle your shit, Denny.” Jess got up from his lap and sat down next to Diva, who was scowling at the other woman the entire time.
Denny wheeled himself to the side of the house and away from the crowd. As soon as he did, he and Kizzy started arguing.
“I can’t stand that bitch, with her insecure ass.” Diva couldn’t wait until Denny finally got tired of Kizzy. He’d cheated on her more times than she could count, and she still refused to walk away.
After a while, they heard Kizzy crying and screaming obscenities before she rushed from the side of the house to her car. She pulled off in a hurry, making her tires screech when she turned the corner.
“Dumb bitch crying over a nigga who can’t even chase her when she run away.” Dot shook her head in disgust, making everybody laugh at her comment.
“Yooo, granny, you wild for that.” Tre doubled over with laughter.
“Bitch, I ain’t nobody’s granny.” Dot frowned. He knew she hated that term and he was the only one who sometimes called her that. She was a young grandmother and being called granny made her feel old. For some reason, Tre, the same as his father, liked to piss her off.
“You know I like to get a reaction outta you.”
“I love my son but I’m not crying over no nigga who gotta pump up his dick just to fuck me.”
“Not too much on my brother,” Diva laughed.
“Girl please. How is everything coming along for Leo’s party, Hank? I told your sister that I would supply all the alcohol but I can do whatever else y’all need me to do.”
Dot loved Hank’s mother and she made sure to always show her a good time whenever she visited. Leo rolled out the red carpet for her when she visited Georgia, and she appreciated her.
“Nah, we got everything together but I appreciate it. I’m happy you mentioned that though. It’s a lot of us going out there, and we got a lot of alcohol and other stuff to transport. What y’all think about renting a chartered bus to bring us instead of taking a bunch of different cars?
Nobody will have to drive and we can all be comfortable.”
Hank had been thinking about that for a few days but he wanted to run it by everybody else.
“That’s a good idea. I’ll help pay for it,” Fonzo offered.
“I’ll foot the bill if everybody is okay with it.”
Everybody agreed that it was easier and made more sense.
The party was the following month, so they all had a little time to find something to wear and make arrangements at their perspective jobs.
Clover was excited about seeing her family again soon, well, at least the ones who fucked with her.
The rest of them could kiss her ass and she had no problem telling them so.
