“I’m tired of this delulu ass bitch. Your brother-in-law must have been her first man,” Clover fussed as she and Cash drove to Rondell’s apartment for the second time that week.
She was happy that Kim had met some new people since she moved there but she was starting to regret that Rondell was one of them. His ex was a pain in the ass, and her cousin wasn’t used to that kind of drama. Nothing that happened was his fault, but the shit was draining.
Her cousin had just called and told her that his ex bitch came over there with two other girls to fight her.
Tru was ready to box it out, but the twins didn’t let them go outside.
Now, they were outside banging on his door while screaming obscenities.
Clover had just come from working out, so she was already dressed for the occasion.
She picked Cash up and they were in route to their destination.
They had to be some bold ass bitches to still be out there for so long.
“That hoe cornbread ain’t done in the middle. I mean, it can’t be fully cooked. That faking a pregnancy to keep a nigga is old and played the fuck out. My husband told Rondell to break his lease and move, and I hope he listens.”
“I hope so too. He needs to be in a gated community or something. His apartment is too accessible. I’m not asking no muthafucking questions either. I’m ‘bout to line all these hoes up.”
“Bitch, it’s been a minute since I dog walked a hoe. I’m too excited.”
Cash cracked her knuckles and stretched.
She used to be like Tyson in his prime when she was younger but her husband put a stop to all that when they got together.
He would probably die if he knew that she was planning to fight now, but she hoped he never found out.
Clover’s blood was boiling when she pulled up and saw three women kicking Rondell’s front door.
Some of the neighbors had come outside, waiting to see what would happen next.
She called Kim and told her that she had just pulled up.
Clover and Cashmere got out of the car right as Rondell opened the front door.
One of the women tried to rush inside, but Clover grabbed her hair and pulled her back.
“You hoes outchea on some bully shit, huh!” Clover slammed her fist into the woman’s face, as the crowd yelled and went crazy.
Cash was about to grab the other one, but Tru beat her to it. She started swinging like a wild animal, making Alva’s scary ass back up in fear. She’d had fights before but she wouldn’t consider herself a pro. That was the reason why she got her two cousins to go with her.
“Man, fuck!” Montrell ran outside and tried to break up the fight.
Clover was doing the other girl dirty, and Cash stood there and let her. Alva went over and tried to stop it, but Kim must have thought she was trying to jump in.
“You better not put your hands on my cousin!” Kim grabbed a fist full of Alva’s hair and slung her to the ground.
“Stop! I’m pregnant.” Alva covered her face, but Rondell lifted Kim off of her feet before she even had a chance to swing.
“Pregnant!” Kim yelled as she broke free from Rondell’s grip.
“Come on, Clo, that bitch ain’t even fighting back no more.”
The woman that Clover was fighting with had balled up into a fetal position.
Montrell already had Tru under control but she was still going off.
As soon as Clover was pulled away, the woman that she was fighting with started going off on her cousin.
“Your scary ass got us out here fighting for you and you didn’t even help.” She looked at Alva in disgust as she walked back to the car.
Alva and the other woman followed her as she continued to yell obscenities. Cash was happy as hell that she didn’t fight when she saw all cameras that everybody had out. She’d already made her fighting debut on World Star years ago but her husband wasn’t having that anymore.
“I’m so sick of all the bullshit. It’s always something.” Clover was fuming as she pulled her locs into a ponytail.
“That bitch is really delusional. And I hate to say it but she’s not done,” Cash replied.
“Text me your brother-in-law’s number. That bitch gon’ be done when I finish with her ass. Let me check on Kim before we go.” Clover followed Cash inside to make sure her cousin was good. Kim was putting her shoes on but she could tell that she was upset.
“You good, cousin? I’m ‘bout to go.”
“I’m coming with you. I’m over this crap.” Kim stood up and grabbed her purse.
“Man, Kimber, I swear, that bitch is lying. Don’t let her fuck up what we’re trying to build.” Rondell was pissed that their day was ruined by Alva once again.
“We ain’t building nothing until you figure out what you got going on with your ex. Maybe she’s not the ex after all. She seems to be here more than I am. That’s exactly why I’ve been single for so long. All you female dog donkey negroes do is lie.”
“Did she just call my twin a bitch ass nigga?” Montrell questioned, as Cash turned her head and laughed. Clover told her that Kimber didn’t really curse, but that was funny as hell.
“Wait, friend, I’m leaving too. Maybe we can go out to eat and talk,” Tru said as she grabbed her purse and followed Kim to the door.
“Hol’ up, I thought you and I were supposed to be talking,” Montrell jumped up and said.
“That’ll have to wait, Montrell. My girl needs me right now. We came together and we’re leaving together.”
Clover smiled, loving Tru more than she already did. She really fucked with her cousin and it wasn’t a fa?ade.
“Thank you, Tru. I appreciate all the love you show my cousin.” Clover grabbed her hand and smiled when they walked out of the apartment.
“That’s what best friends are for.”
Clover and Cash waited until they left before they pulled off right behind them.
“Nigga, you better fix this shit. You fucking up what I got going on. My girl is talking about letting me come back home,” Montrell fussed as soon as he and his twin were alone.
“The fuck is you getting mad with me for! That retarded hoe is messing me up too. I just got called a bitch ass nigga country western style.” Rondell regretted the day he ever met Alva. She seemed too good to be true in the beginning, so he should have known better.
“I hate that strong face ass trans bitch.”
“Oh shit!” Rondell jumped up excitedly when a text message came through on his phone.
“What? Is that Kim? Tell her to come back.”
“Nah, that’s her cousin, Clover. She said she wants to rap with me about something.”
“What’s good, bro? Call her.”
“She said she’s gonna call me in a few. I wonder what she wants.”
“Shit, me too.”
The twins paced the living room floor, wondering what Clover could possibly want to discuss.
Rondell really liked Kim and he was hoping that she wasn’t gonna tell him to stay away from her.
Kimber looked up to her cousin so she would more than likely listen.
Sadly, that was one request that he wasn’t sure that he could honor.
Alva pulled her compact out of her purse and checked her appearance.
Her hands were shaking nervously but not out of fear.
She was excited when Rondell called her a week after the fight and said that they needed to talk.
She was sure that he wanted to know about their non-existent baby but she was up for the conversation.
All she needed was another month before she started complaining of stomach pain and had a miscarriage.
She laughed at herself and how far she was going to keep her man but she wasn’t ashamed.
She realized where she went wrong and she swore that she was gonna do better.
She was so used to seeing how her father always gave her mother her way and she behaved just like her.
The difference was that her parents had been married for close to forty years.
Men her age weren’t with all the nagging, so she had to chill.
Her cousins were still pissed with her, even though she apologized a million times.
They were gonna be even more upset once they found out that she and Rondell were getting back together.
Alva only wanted them to fight his new bitch.
She didn’t know where the other woman came from but she was a wild one.
She’d seen his brother’s wife multiple times but she made it clear in the beginning that she didn’t like her.
That was too bad for her too because she wasn’t going anywhere.
“Alright, bitch, go get your man back.”
Alva popped her glossed lips. She sprayed on a little perfume before she exited the car.
She wore her colorful maxi dress and her fringed wedge heels.
She took her time and applied her makeup and her wig was freshly installed.
She put a little extra twist in her stride as she walked up to the door just in case he was watching.
Alva took a deep breath to gather her nerves before she knocked on the door.
It was opened a short time later by Rondell, who stood in the darkened living room.
“What’s good Alva?” he spoke but something seemed off. He looked more annoyed than happy to see her. He moved to the side and granted her entrance.
“You asked to see me so you tell me what’s up. I hope you’re ready to discuss the life that’s growing inside of me. I can’t see a damn thing in here. Why are you sitting in the dark?”
As soon as Alva asked the question, a lamp was turned on and everything was made clear.
She paused when she saw Rondell’s new girlfriend and the other woman who beat her cousin up the week before.
The first thing that came to mind was catchback for bringing her cousins there to fight.
Of course, Montrell and Tru were there, along with another woman who she’d never seen before.
Alva wanted to kick her own ass for being so hard headed.
Her sisters told her not to go over there but she was too lovestruck to listen.
They knew all about the fight and they thought it was strange that he just up and asked her to come over.
Besides her cousins, nobody else in her family knew that she was faking a pregnancy. They would have died to know that she had stooped so low. They hated Rondell and they definitely would have been pissed. She was happy but surprised that her cousins hadn’t said anything.
“You can sit down, bruh,” Montrell said, talking as if she was one of the homies.
“I don’t think so, I’m leaving.” Alva turned and headed for the door.
“Yeah, I know that’s what you thought.” Clover stood in front of the door, preventing her from leaving.
“Why is she dressed like my mama in the nineties?” Iva asked as she scrunched up her face.
“Look, I’m not trying to argue or fight with anybody. I’m pregnant.” Alva held her flat stomach, still keeping up with the deceit.
“And that’s exactly why we’re here. Go handle your business.” Clover threw her a pregnancy test that fell right at her feet.
Kimber was over the bullshit and so was Rondell.
He explained everything to Clover and he was just as annoyed as her cousin was.
Kimber confessed to really liking and wanting to be with him.
The only thing that had her second-guessing her decision was his ex who couldn’t seem to stay away.
Rondell swore that she was lying, but Kim was still skeptical.
Clover told them that there was only one way to find out and they were there to get some answers.
“I don’t have to take this to prove anything to anybody.” Alva kicked the test away from her. She was scared out of her mind but she would never let them know it.
“You don’t have to, but you are. Now, you got one of two choices. You can either piss or get the piss beat out you. We ‘bout to get some answers either way. What’s up?” Clover cracked her knuckles and got ready to square up.
“Boy, pretty black is a savage. I love this shit.” Montrell liked Clover’s style. She was a tiny lil thing with the heart of a lion.
“Just shoot that bitch, Clo. I ain’t tryna be up in here all night.” Iva frowned in annoyance.
“Oh, my God. I’m calling the police.” With shaky hands, Alva reached into her purse for her phone.
“Fuck it, this bitch is trying to do everything the hard way.” Iva slapped Alva’s phone out of her hand and grabbed her by the neck, leading her into the half-bathroom in the hallway. Clover picked up the pregnancy test and followed them.
“Boy, Cash got some straight up thugs for friends.” Montrell was happy to see Alva getting exactly what she deserved. She talked all that hot shit and was scary as fuck.
“Help! Please, somebody help me!” Alva was screaming like somebody was killing her.
“Shut up, dummy!” Clo yelled as she slapped Alva across the face, instantly silencing her.
“It ain’t even that deep. Just take the test and be done with it. I hate dumb bitches like you. Babies don’t keep a nigga and never did. You hoes be too pressed to keep a nigga that don’t wanna be kept. Just outchea begging to be a single mother.”
“Fine, I’m not pregnant,” Alva whispered embarrassingly as tears rolled down her cheeks.
She felt like a fool and she hated Rondell for what he’d done. Never in her life had anything like that happened to her before. She was a sheltered mama’s girl. She regretted not sticking to the prim and proper men that she was used to. She just had to have a bad boy but it wasn’t even worth it.
“We already know that but my cousin needs some proof. Take the test and this is my last time asking.”
Clover handed her the test, and Alva reluctantly received it.
She felt violated as both women watched as she took the test.
She cried the entire time as she peed on the stick and washed her hands after.
She swore that she never wanted to see Rondell again after that day.
She would be too ashamed to even face him.
Once the test showed negative, Clover grabbed a handful of paper towels and took it to the living room to show Kim and Rondell.
Although they both knew that she was lying, they were still relieved to have solid proof.
After a minute or so, Alva came rushing out of the bathroom and out the front door, keeping her head down the entire time.
“You got your answers now, Kimber. So, are y’all in a relationship or not?” Clover asked while looking at her cousin. Rondell looked at her too, hoping that she finally gave him a chance.
“Yes, we’re in a relationship.” Kimber smiled, making Rondell smile in return.
“Cool, welcome to the family, cousin. Here, throw this away.” Clover handed him the test before she and Iva left the four of them alone.
“Another problem solved. Who’s next?” Iva questioned jokingly.
“Boobie,” Clover replied as they got into her car.
“Dash! What the hell did he do?”
“I don’t know, Iva, but something is off with him.”
“Something like what? I love my brother-in-law, but he can get it too.”
“I can’t explain it but I can’t shake the feeling. I don’t have proof but my intuition is at an all-time high.”
“Damn, friend. I don’t even know what to say.”
“Me either but it’s all good. Light will always expose darkness.”
Clover hoped that she was just being paranoid but she really didn’t think so.
Dash went from never wanting her out of his sight to seemingly being angry all the time.
His mood had been all over the place lately, but she didn’t know why.
He claimed to be okay every time she asked and she didn’t push the issue.
Whatever it was would be revealed soon and she would have to handle it accordingly.
