Caprice got another chance to get it right and was doing the exact same thing that she got in trouble for at her last job.

She claimed that it was different this time around because nobody else knew.

Unlike her previous job, she swore that she was being more discreet and careful.

She was a fool for love but that was her life to ruin.

“Don’t take it out on me cause that nigga did you dirty once again.”

Caprice felt some kind of way about how Sade was trying to play her.

She was always trying to throw shade at her when her love life took a wrong turn.

As much as Caprice hated to admit it, Dash lived and breathe Clover so she was wasting her time from the start.

“It’s cool. I learned a valuable life lesson the hard way. How does Tia know anything about Dot’s anyway?”

Tia wasn’t like any of them. She was classy and drama-free. She loved to hit the streets and travel, but Dot’s didn’t seem like a place that she would hang in. She was a school teacher who loved brunching and wine. She didn’t really do the bar scene and neither did her husband.

“How do you think?” Caprice smirked deviously.

“Do you really think that was a good idea, Caprice? You know Tia don’t even do drama and mess. She never did.”

“And she’s not gonna do drama and mess now. It’s just a party, and she was cool with it when I suggested it.”

When her cousin asked for suggestions for her party, Caprice told her about Dot’s Spot.

She was kinda skeptical when Caprice took her and her sister there but she eventually gave in when Dot told her that she would cater the food.

Caprice didn’t really want to be seen, so she stayed outside most of the time when they talked to Dot.

She saw Iva’s ugly ass behind the bar but she doubted if she saw her.

She was embarrassed when Monty found out about the air tag that she had in his trunk.

Clover’s cousins were some low down hoes but she didn’t even fuck with them anymore.

They told her that they were gonna beat her ass whenever they came back to New Orleans, and she was ready.

Her family was way bigger and always ready for whatever.

She didn’t know why they even told him, but it was all good.

“Desperation is a mental illness that needs to be studied,” Sade said before she got up and walked away.

She was sure that Caprice was gonna have a rebuttal that she wasn’t trying to hear. She was always throwing cheap shots at her but she was even worse. She had a million burner pages that she used to stalk Monty and his family. It was pathetic, and Sade was happy that she was falling back from her.

“Stupid ass bitch.” Caprice frowned at Sade’s departing back. She felt stupid about getting her ass whooped and she was salty. Caprice was sick of her and she was happy that she wasn’t going to the party. She probably wouldn’t have gone either had she not been going with so many of her cousins.

“Bitch, I don’t know why I even agreed to come help you. Had I known that this party was for her people, I would have graciously declined.”

Dot’s was closed for a private party, but Clover didn’t know that it was for one of Caprice’s people.

Iva was working the bar and she agreed to help.

Kardi was staying the night with Amina and Fonzo, and she didn’t want to be home alone.

She loved her house so much, but it sometimes felt too quiet and empty.

For some reason, her baby had been clinging to Amina since her gender reveal.

She was so excited that she was having a cousin.

Amina’s baby shower was earlier that day, and Kardi begged to stay the night with her and Fonzo.

Kardi was spoiled rotten, so they were happy that she wanted to be around them so much.

“I didn’t know either because I damn sure wouldn’t have been here. I told you that I saw her here not too long ago. That’s the two chicks that she was with.” Iva discreetly pointed to two women who favored a lot. One of them had on a money pin, letting them know that she was who they were there for.

“I’m so muthafucking mad.” Diva walked out of the back and sat some plates and utensils at the end of the bar. Dot was catering the food for the party, and Diva was helping her. Had she known that it was for one of Caprice’s people, there was no way in hell that she would have agreed.

“I know the feeling. As long as that hood giraffe stays over there, we’re good. I meant what I said and I’m done giving passes,” Clover replied.

“Period! I guarantee it was her idea to even have the party here. Them chicks probably don’t even know nothing about Dot’s. They look too clean to be with that dirty hoe anyway. I know she thought Monty was gon’ be here, but my baby is tired. He was laid out on the sofa when I left.”

Iva looked over at Caprice and frowned. She looked like a big goofball standing over there with her people trying to dance.

All the other women looked classy in their heels, but she had on a big ass pair of high-top Nikes looking like a stud.

She had a ponytail in her hair and that was the only thing that made her look slightly feminine.

It was about time she left the braids alone.

“It ain’t like he would have acknowledged her even if he was. I just don’t understand what her obsession is with this family, especially when she got a big one of her own. I guess her hoe ass cousin decided to sit this one out,” Diva snickered.

“After Clo went viral for going Mayweather on that ass, she did right.” Iva laughed as she and Diva slapped hands.

“Here, they’re both filled with Seagram’s. I don’t know them like that to give away my good liquor.”

Dot handed Iva and Clo two huge black wash bottles before she walked away. She liked to keep the parties lit so the DJ always played the shots songs a few times. Whoever was bartending would get on top of the bar and give free shots that the partygoers had to open their mouths for.

“I might drown one of these hoes.” Clover pulled her freshly twisted locs back into a ponytail and secured them into a knot.

“I know you fucking lying! Bitch, look who just walked in.” Diva was furious when she saw Trent walk into the party with another man.

“He’s not even supposed to be around Clover,” Iva noted.

“It ain’t like he knew I was gonna be here, but he ain’t stupid. But, then again, who knows with his stalking ass. I’ll make his ass a distant memory and sleep like a baby tonight.”

Clover stayed ready and she had her tool right behind the bar whenever she was there.

And if she couldn’t get to hers, Dot had a few of her own close by that only they knew about.

“Big Shaq is his cousin, so maybe he’s just here for the party.” Iva shrugged.

“That bitch is really trying to be messy.” Diva was annoyed with so many things, and Caprice seemed to be behind them all.

“Shit! Next time, I’m listening to my first mind and staying my ass inside. I love you, friend, but tonight is already turning out to be one for the books.”

Clover wanted to hide behind the bar when she saw Dash and Monty walk into the bar.

Her ex was the last person that she wanted to see.

He called her phone a million times a day but, outside of Kardi, they didn’t have anything else to discuss.

She could have started a garden with all the flowers that he had delivered to the nursey and house every day.

Being away from him was the hardest thing that she ever had to do, but it was necessary.

“What’s up, beautiful?” Monty smiled as he leaned over the bar and kissed Iva.

“Hey handsome.” Iva was all smiles as she returned the greeting.

“What’s up, y’all?” Dash spoke, never taking his eyes off of Clover.

He and Monty had just left Fonzo’s house visiting Kardi.

Amina inadvertently told them where Clo was, and Dash wasted no time going to the bar.

Monty didn’t mind since he knew that Iva was there too.

Dash had been a wreck lately and he felt lost without Clover.

He’d been praying more than he ever did in his life.

He begged God to bring them back together and he swore that he would never do anything to make her leave him again.

“What y’all drinking?” Iva asked, preparing to fix them something to sip on.

Monty only wanted a Heineken, but Dash declined. He hadn’t really been having an appetite, so drinking wasn’t the best idea. Iva wanted to feel sorry for him, but however he was feeling was his own fault.

“The fuck is that desperate hoe doing here? That bitch is really trying my patience.” Monty frowned when he looked around the bar and spotted Caprice.

“Don’t trip, boo. The party is for one of her people,” Iva replied.

“Yeah, I wonder whose idea that was.” Monty already knew that Caprice was trying to start some shit.

He looked around and saw a few familiar faces, but one stood out in the crowd.

He nudged Dash and discreetly pointed Trent out to him.

His brother nodded and frowned, probably feeling the same way that he did.

They knew all about Clover’s protective order on him, and Dash felt dumb as fuck.

He lost his wife behind a lie that a bitch who wanted him told.

He didn’t see her anywhere in there but he wasn’t expecting to after Clover dog walked her.

“I’m so happy to see y’all. Come help me get these pans out the oven and put them in the warmers,” Dot requested when she came from the back and saw her two grandsons. She was a little annoyed to see Caprice there, but it was cool. As long as she didn’t start no shit, she was safe.

“Ten minutes, Clo. The DJ said he’s gonna play the shots song soon,” Iva said as she read the text that came through on her phone.

Clover held up her wash bottle, “I’m ready.”

The party guests seemed to be enjoying themselves, as they danced and sang along to the music. But, just like always, nothing good lasted forever.

“What’s up, Diva? How you been?” Caprice asked as she walked over with a stupid looking grin on her face. She felt bold since she was with her family, but that didn’t mean nothing to any of them.

“Bitch, you tell me. You stalk us enough on social media to know it all.”

“Stalk, nah, never that. I was just coming to speak.”
