Chapter 46 Raven

Raven

Icouldn’t see Maverick’s expression, but from his tone, he was more curious than angry about Alaric. And also confused, which was unsurprising given my complicated history with the mage.

“After he killed Demelza, he said he’d kept his distance to protect me from his father.”

Maverick made a rumbling sound. Did that mean he believed Alaric?

“He said he wants to make me his,” I continued. “But Zane came looking for me and brought me back here, to you, so we didn’t finish…” I coughed awkwardly. “Our conversation.”

I pulled his arms closer around my waist as the hot water lapped over my breasts. The bubbles had disappeared, but the scents of lavender and vanilla still filled the room. It reminded me of the lavender cookies Nova used to make when I was small. My belly growled in response.

“Little mate, you’re hungry.” Maverick frowned. “Let me finish washing your hair, and then I’ll make you some food.”

“I can wait.” I needed more than food.

Wiggling free of Maverick’s grasp, I twisted around so I was sitting astride his thick thighs. His cock bobbed in the water, hard and weeping for me, but he resolutely ignored it. As always, my bear’s focus was on me rather than his own needs.

“I want to make you feel better, Daddy Bear.” His eyes darkened at my words, his cock pulsing gently between my thighs. “You need to relax more than I need food, so let me help you with that.”

Zane’s interest perked up down the bond, and I knew he was feeling my lust and desire. Maverick had locked the bathroom door to keep the incubus out, but no doubt he’d jump me the minute we left this hot, steamy room.

“Little mate, I can wait.” My bear was so selfless, but for once I wasn’t letting him lead. No, it was my turn to take control for once.

“And what if I don’t want to wait?” I pulled a sad face. “Surely my bear wouldn’t want his mate needy and unfulfilled?”

Maverick’s eyes widened, genuinely horrified at my suggestion that he wasn’t taking good care of his mate.

“I would never!”

“Then let me take care of you and satisfy myself at the same time,” I cooed, wrapping my hand around his thick shaft.

His eyes fluttered shut as a long groan rattled through his chest. My fist slid up and down, using the water as lubricant.

“Fuck, little mate. That feels…so good.” I rubbed my thumb across the swollen tip and then bent down, gripped his shaft with both hands, and took the tip of him into my mouth. Sadly, that was all I could manage unless I felt like drowning.

The groans grew louder. More desperate. With each hot swirl of my tongue, I clenched my thighs to stave off my own need. But Maverick could scent my arousal, and his bear would only stand taking a backseat for so long.

He wrapped a coil of wet hair around his fist and pulled me back.

“I need to be inside you, little mate.” Before I could protest, he gripped me around the waist and guided his cock inside me.

I moaned at the way he stretched me. Fiery embers rained down on us, sputtering out on the damp floor as water cascaded over the edge of the tub.

My bear’s eager mouth found my tits, sucking hard enough to make me scream.

It was all I needed to push me over the edge into oblivion, and with a long groan, he pulsed inside me, finding his own release.

When we’d both caught our breath, he brushed my wet hair away from my cheek and kissed me like he couldn’t bear the idea of ever leaving me again.

“I love you, sweetheart,” he said when he finally pulled away. “If you want to add the mage to your harem, that’s fine, but please don’t get upset if I punch him for being an asshole to you.”

Zane blinked into view, naked.

“What?” he said, eyes wide with fake innocence. “I need a shower, and this is the nicest bathroom.”

“I locked the door for a reason!” My bear growled while pulling me against his chest possessively.

“And I waited until you blew your load.” The incubus rolled his eyes. “Now move over, care bear. It’s my turn to please our mate.”

I tried not to stare at my incubus’s dick, but since it was pointed right at me, winking happily, I failed miserably.

“See, she wants my pretty dick too,” he said with a smug smirk.

“For fuck’s sake!” My bear stood, sending more water slopping out of the tub. “I’ll go start dinner while you finish washing your hair, little mate.” He dropped a kiss on my lips and climbed out of the tub, scowling venomously at Zane as he hopped in to take my bear’s place.

But my incubus gave no fucks.

Part of me wondered how the mage would cope with Zane’s inability to give me time alone with my other mates. Rasmus didn’t mind, but I knew Kai struggled.

I had a feeling Alaric and Zane would butt heads once the mage finally sealed the bond. Oh well. They could figure it out between themselves.

Maverick placed a plate piled high with veggies and a delicious meat stew.

“Eat up, little mate. Your other males haven’t been taking good enough care of you while I’ve been gone.”

Zane slammed his fist down on the table indignantly. “Excuse me? I’ve made sure our mate has had multiple orgasms every fucking night. If that’s not taking care of her, I don’t know what is!”

Kai appeared at the door, but upon hearing raised voices, he spun around and disappeared. My heart fell. I barely saw my merman as it was, thanks to our conflicting timetables and his habit of rising early.

While Maverick and Zane bickered, I silently resolved to drag Kai back to my bed later. He needed me as much as my bear after all the drama with his ho-bag of a mother.

I’d also seen very little of my bestie lately. She’d been preoccupied with something and didn’t seem inclined to talk about it.

Maybe a movie night was overdue. Glynda loved romantic movies. I’d ask my bear to download some good ones onto his laptop so Glynda and I could watch them. The vampire dorm had no TVs or any form of modern entertainment. I guess the vamps hadn’t been interested in television back in the day.

I turned to Rasmus, who’d taken a seat beside me, and asked him.

“No, we prefer other forms of entertainment,” he told me. “My parents’ court held weekly balls, and most nights there was dancing and a blood feast.” He lifted his glass of synthetic blood and took a sip. A faint grimace was the only sign he found the fake blood unpleasant.

He hadn’t fed from me in a week, but I wasn’t sure how to raise the topic. Part of me wondered whether he still liked my blood. Did I taste nasty?

“No, my darling. You taste divine.” Rasmus leaned in and inhaled. “You smell divine too.”

“But you haven’t been feeding from me,” I whispered.

“Only because you need your energy. I don’t need to feed all that often. I am old, and older vampires are less reliant on blood.”

“Is that why you survived?”

“I believe so.”

I pondered that while I chewed my food. If Rasmus had survived because he was old enough not to need as much blood, then surely his family would have survived as well?

He shook his head.

“Not necessarily, mea amica. Even if my family hadn’t succumbed to the bloodborne virus, being blood-starved makes us vulnerable.

Our family’s estate in Europe, as well as our other homes, was heavily warded against intruders, but the wards may have failed if not renewed by the witches on our payroll.

” His scowl suggested he thought at least some of those witches might have had good reason not to help their vampire clients, but he stopped short of saying so.

The food in my mouth turned to dust. I hated knowing he had no idea whether his family was still alive. Adam, Willow, and the other witches back on the farm had been my family growing up, and at least I knew they were safe.

Which reminded me, I’d promised to visit them at Beltane, assuming the headmaster permitted us to leave campus for the holiday. With all the lockdowns lately, I wasn’t hopeful.

“Maybe we can travel there to check on them?” I wasn’t sure if Zane could teleport us all that far, but if he could…

“Thank you for caring, my darling.” He nuzzled my neck, and I shivered. Stars, it had been less than an hour since my last orgasm and already I wanted more.

“I would like to feed from you later,” he told me in a low, husky voice.

“No,” my bear snapped, having heard Rasmus thanks to his shifter hearing. “She’s mine for tonight.”

I rolled my eyes and slammed my cutlery down.

“This is ridiculous. I’m not a toy you can pass around!

We all share a room, or I sleep alone.” My males glared at each other as I folded my arms. Kai wasn’t here, but I’d talk to him.

Of all of them, he was the most willing to bend to suit my desires, even when it made him uncomfortable, which sharing did.

“I have no issues with sharing your sweet body, pet.” Zane winked. “And I doubt vampy does either.” Rasmus slid his hand over my thigh.

“I love to share,” he purred.

Only my bear seemed less than enthused, but he huffed and nodded.

“Fine.”

“I’m not sharing with the pig,” Kenji muttered from where he lay curled up on a chair. “It stinks.”

“Fig doesn’t smell! I bathed him after you complained.”

“It didn’t help. The only time I like the smell of pig is when it’s fried or roasted.”

I threw a bread roll at him in disgust, but it missed. Fig woke up and snorted with excitement when he spotted the roll on the floor. Before anyone could stop him, he’d gobbled it down.

“It has no manners whatsoever.” Kenji shuddered in disgust.

“Where did you find Fig anyway?” I asked Zane. He’d revealed nothing so far, and I’d let it slide for too long. If some poor kid was crying themselves to sleep over Fig’s disappearance, I needed to know.

“The pig was destined for the slaughterhouse, pet. I swooped in and saved his piggy butt.”

“But how did you know to find him at such short notice?” Fig showed up less than a minute after Zane vanished with the mage charm.

“I spotted the pig when I hunted a demon around a farm on the other side of the forest. The mountain lion shifter farmer had the pig stuck in a crate and was busy chopping vegetables.”

“You seriously believe that crock of shit?” Kenji scoffed. “It’s a wild pig and should be returned to the forest immediately!”

“Poor little Fig.” Ignoring Kenji’s shameless attempt to discredit my pig, I jumped up from my chair and flung my arms around Zane. “You’re my hero.”

Zane grinned. “In that case, I look forward to my reward later, pet.”
