Chapter 70

BLAIZE

It sounded like a war zone when I walked into the hospital. Hawke was a beast of a man who lost control when he was angry. While I could easily shrink my feelings into a small ball in my stomach, Hawke was a big ball of raw emotion. I found him with his fists bloody and a hole in the wall.

The hospital staff knew who we were and it was something I’d pay for, but he needed to let out his anger. Hawke wasn’t one to hurt someone innocent, but the way he felt right now, he might unintentionally hurt an innocent doctor.

“Hawke.” He looked up at me, his eyes bloodshot and puffy, and there was blood on him. It might be his own or it might be hers. He rushed to me, and I allowed him to be vulnerable with me. He was there for me, so I’d be here for him. “We will find who did this.”

“She’s still in surgery,” he muttered. “They kept updating me, and she coded on the table. She died, Blaize. My wife died, but they got her back. I can’t lose her. It took so long to actually find a woman who looked past my scars and the demons in my head.”

Fallon came to the town from Jethro’s territory.

She left an abusive marriage and had a black eye that lasted for two weeks.

She finally had enough after her husband almost killed her.

She met Hawke when he was out patrolling on his bike, and he almost hit her because he was staring at her ass.

He fell in love with her sass first, then her heart.

They each had their own issues to deal with, but I knew love when I saw it, and those two were perfect for each other. Fallon completed Hawke, and he completed her. I knew how it felt to have a part of your heart ripped out. If Fallon died, I wouldn’t be able to bring him back.

“I’m going to see Damon and get more information. Keep me informed. She’s strong and stubborn. When she wakes up, she’s gonna want to kill the asshole who hurt her and Layla.”

“My little spitfire.” He chuckled softly. “Let me know if you need anything. If she does make it through, she’s going to be in ICU and I won’t be able to stay. I can’t be here if I can’t see my wife. I know my limits, and the next person that asks me if I’m okay is getting punched.”

Damon was yelling into his phone as I walked into his office. Having this happen on his territory made it his issue, and with how he reacted, I knew he had nothing to do with it. He made sure Layla’s body was sent home and got Fallon the best hospital care to save her life.

“I gotta go.” He hung up abruptly and tossed his phone on his desk. “There are no witnesses, but I’m getting security footage from the mall. I’m sorry about your girls, Blaize.”

“I’ll take the apology when we find the asshole who did this. My men are destroyed. If they acted any different, I’d shoot them myself, but this weakens us. This is a trap for something else. I know it. Whoever this is, will take the chance.”

He nodded. “I have some news. I’ve been digging into the security system and watching the territories. You have a rat.”

“None of my men would betray me. They all know the penalty, and they’ve seen me work. The big burly bikers are terrified of me and loyal. They’d never turn against me.”

He tossed a folder in my direction before placing his hand on top of it, preventing me from opening it. “It’s no one from your motorcycle club. They are loyal to the fucking bone. But those pretty little girls at your club are not.”

“You think one of the girls betrayed me?”

“Powerful dick and money attract the weak and na?ve. Her face was hidden until the other night, but she’s also been in Bellevue talking to an unknown man in a black hoodie. The couple Garrick saw, I found them, too. That is our Elijah wannabe.”

He opened the folder, and instantly, I saw a flash of blue.

The green-eyed vixen who captured my interest since the moment I saw her at Roadhouse.

The majority of these photos were taken from behind her, but I knew that signature blue hair.

The picture that really captured my eye was the one with her talking to a man in the alley outside of Hades.

It was the night I cornered her in my office.

She looked like she knew the guy if she was having a conversation with him. Was that her plan? To use her pussy to distract me so her boyfriend could destroy me? She infiltrated my club, my bed, my heart. My fists clenched tightly, feeling the anger bubbles inside my chest.

“I take it, you know her?”

“Yes. She’s going to pay for hurting my girls and using her pussy to distract me.

If you find anything else, inform me immediately.

I have a traitor to deal with.” I tried to focus as I grabbed my phone.

While on my way here, Hawke informed me that Fallon made it out of surgery, but the next seventy-two hours were critical.

He couldn’t stay there, so he needed something to distract him.

I had the perfect task for him. I called him, and he knew immediately that I had something.

“Kadence is a fucking traitor. I need her at the club. Take her, sedate her, and put her in the fucking basement, tied.” I hung up before he could question me. I messaged Hunter letting her know everything that was going to happen.

When I stepped outside, I punched the brick wall, feeling the skin of my knuckle split.

I fucking knew it, but why did this betrayal cut through me like a knife, leaving searing pain that twisted into burning rage?

She played us all for a fool, deceiving and manipulative, tricking every single person in my club and myself to believe whatever sob story she sold.

I fell for the pretty eyes without feeling the venom that dripped from her tongue.

This vexing organ in my chest made me blind to the truth, dazed and trapped in her.

The primal urge was screaming in my chest to kill and take everything I needed back.

I needed answers. I needed my fucking control back.

I fucked her, I lowered my walls for her, and I think I fell in love with her. This was why I didn’t let anyone in. This betrayal shattered what was left inside me, leaving a gaping void that would never be filled again. She was going to fucking pay.
