Chapter 18

Free

Anger doesn’t begin to describe what I feel right now. Rage. Pure rage. All I see is red. They stormed in here, took what didn’t belong to them, and then ran like cowards.

“Video feed is pullin’ up,” Mask announces as we gather around to see who the hell dared this stunt. They came out of nowhere, busting through all the doors. They fucking rushed us, and we didn’t have time to make a plan. And they took her. Addison.

“Wait a fuckin’ minute,” I snarl when I see the faces on the screen. I lean in to get a better look at them.

“You know the motherfuckers?” Van asks. I reach out my hand and point to the main one standing in the doorway, looking as though he’s calling the shots.

“That one. I bought Addison from him.”

“You fuckin’ kiddin’ me?” Pike yells.

“No. That’s him. He delivered her,” I tell them as too many thoughts rattle around my head. What could they want? Did they know she’d go for more money and come to steal her back?

My hands ball at my sides as I think about the reasons they could have taken her. None of them are good. A chill runs down my spine like icy fingers dancing on my skin. This isn’t going to end well for them. They took something that was mine. No one takes what belongs to me.

“What do you think they want with her?”

“How do you know they were targetin’ her?” I ask as my blood boils in my veins.

“Look,” he says, drawing my attention back to the screen. That’s when I see the asshole move through the room like a fucking ninja, pointing her out. How had I not seen this before? I was too focused on protecting her and not letting her get shot! That’s how! I’m pissed at myself. I’m pissed at the world, and someone is going to pay for this.

“This is bullshit,” I roar before spinning around and punching the wall. I’m beyond pissed off at this point.

“You know where they hold them?”

“Yeah. That old prison out on nine.”

“Then we hit that place. We call in back up, and we go in.”

“We don’t know if they’re there,” I remind them as they make plans.

“You got a better idea?” Fuck! No. I don’t so I shake my head. “Then we hit that place.” I nod my head once and roll my shoulders. I’m ready to hit it. I’m ready to find her.

I walk out of the office, down the hall to my room, and stare at the bed. The bed I shared with her and Kelly, of course, they grabbed her too. Now, I’m responsible for more than one life. I scrub my hand over my face as I look around the room, trying to decide on calming my ass down and punching the fucking wall again. I don’t know how this could have happened. I don’t know how they got in so easily and took her.

“You good?” I look over to the door and see Pike standing there.

“Do I look good?”

“You got feelin’s for that girl?”

“Yeah, I do. Not like I need to hide that fact,” I tell him.

“We’ll get her back, Free. Whatever they were plannin’ on doin’, we’ll fuck those plans up for them.”

“You sure about that?”

“Damn sure. You gonna be all fuckin’ negative about this shit, or are you gonna pull your head out of your ass and go after your girl?” Fuck he’s right. I need to stop this shit. I need to focus on finding Addison right now.

“We got guys lookin’ for that van?” I ask him.

“You know we do.”

“Then let’s go hit the old prison.”

“There’s the bastard I know. Let’s fuckin’ do this shit and get your girl back,” he tells me. I nod my head and walk over to the dresser, grabbing a cigarette. I need something to calm my fucking nerves, and this is the best I can do right now.

“When are they ready?”

“Ten minutes. We got our boys comin’ in to help. We’ll have the place covered.”

“Good. It’s a big ass place,” I remind him. He nods his head as I smoke my cigarette, trying to ease the tension I feel.

After I’m finished, I snuff it out in the ashtray and follow Pike out of my room and down the hall. By the time we get back in the main room everyone is armed and ready. Van tosses me an extra gun, which I gladly take and shove into the front of my jeans. I glance around the room as the other girls start cleaning up the mess. I see Mask with his old lady, kissing her hard before we have to leave to take care of this. That’s what I want. I want what they have. I want a woman who will be here waiting for me to get back. A woman who will love me regardless of what I’ve done or what I’m going to do. I roll my head around my neck to ease the tension before pulling my gaze away from them.

It is a complete fucking mess. This whole thing is. I bought her. How could I expect her to want to stay with me? How could she look at me and not see a monster who buys women and forces them to do things they don’t want to do? The thought alone makes me cringe and rethink everything I’ve been doing. I won’t do it again, not to her. I can’t.

“You ready for this?” Mask asks me. Shit, I didn’t even notice him walk over to me.

“Yeah, I’m ready. They stole our girls.”

“Your girl.”

“She’s mine, Mask. However that plays out, she’s still mine,” I tell him. He nods his head before slapping a hand on my shoulder.

“Then we get her back. It’s that simple. You think they’d try and resell her?” he asks.

“I don’t know. Possibly. She’s different. She isn’t the typical blondes they usually get. Redheads are hard to come by in their line of work.”

“Heard that. We’ll figure this out. We’ll get her back. Then I expect her to be chained to the bed again,” he chuckles.

“I might just do that.”

“I know you would.”

“I bet Bunny is pissed,” I tell him. She was once kidnapped before in a war between our club and another. She wasn’t hurt or anything, and we got her back, but to be kidnapped a second time? I can’t even imagine.

“Oh, I know she is. She’s gonna have to get a raise around here,” he laughs.

“No shit.”

“Let’s go. Let’s ride,” he declares as I nod my head. I’m ready for this. I’m ready to end this shit. I’m ready to get her back even though she hasn’t been gone that long. It feels like forever, and I don’t like that feeling.

We head for the door when I see the other guys already here and ready to go. I fist-bump a few before climbing on my bike and pulling my helmet on. Then I’m revving the engine and waiting for the others to get in line. Once we’re all ready, Mask pulls out and heads in that general direction. We don’t really have a plan for this shit. We don’t really need one. We’ll go in there gun blazing and take out their little trafficking ring. It’s as simple as that.
