12. Chase #3
My stomach pinches in fear as I turn to face her fully. “Do I make you uncomfortable?” She takes a second to think before she shakes her head. “Am I pressuring you to do things you don’t want?” I ask in worry, following it with, “Do you not want me to touch you?”
Her mouth parts but no words come out. Hunter presses his body to her back, slowly wrapping his arms around her as he lowers his mouth close to her ear.
I don’t know why he looks so damn calm right now.
My heart is beating so loudly I’m afraid it will leap from my damn chest. Does my mate not want me? Has something changed?
“Calm down, and look at her,” Hunter says through the bond before he speaks out loud.
“I think it’s the opposite.” He gently tugs on her earlobe with his teeth, and I watch as her eyes roll back in her head before closing.
“I think our mate is so desperate for you, for us, that everything you say is making her feel things… here.” He cups her sex over her jeans as she gasps.
“Am I wrong, baby girl? Do you want me to stop touching you?”
He starts to pull his hand away and her eyes fly open in alarm. “No!” she gasps, grabbing his wrist and pulling his hand back to her.
“Your mate is worried you don’t want him,” he whispers before sucking on her earlobe. “Tell him what you want. What you need.”
She blinks a few times as her eyes roam up my body until they connect with mine.
“Chase,” she whispers. Just hearing my name on her lips is enough for my dick to start raging again.
“Everything you say makes me feel so… turned on. It’s killing me not to be bonded with you.
With either of you. I need you, Chase. I need your knot inside me and your bite on my skin. ”
I groan, dropping my head back as I try not to throw her to the ground right here.
I have a plan.
“Hunter, keep doing what you’re doing, while I set up our picnic.” I step toward my bike, but Cherry’s voice stops me in my tracks.
“You’re thinking about eating right now?” I grin, turning back to rake my eyes up and down her body. I lick my lips and nod.
“Oh yes. And I’m famished.” Her cheeks turn red again, and my grin turns into a full-blown smile as I turn back to our bikes and start unloading everything.
I thought her blushing was a good thing, but for a moment there, I wasn’t sure. I worried I was pushing her beyond what she wanted. But now, I’m sure that she wants us, maybe almost as much as we want her.
“There’s a small trail to your left that leads to a little clearing in the trees, away from the road,” Hunter tells me through the bond.
I find it easily and it’s only a ninety second walk to the clearing, just far enough away not to be heard or seen from anyone using the road.
I shake out the red and black tartan picnic blanket on the ground then set the food and wine down on one corner.
I pull off my jacket and try to arrange it as a makeshift pillow for her, if she needs one.
Placing my hands on my hips, I look around. It doesn’t feel special enough. It should be surrounded by a string of lights and candles, and—I sigh, knowing I couldn’t have packed all that and brought it up here. This will have to do.
“Okay, bring her back, I’m ready,” I tell Hunter through the bond and wait as their footsteps get closer.
They walk into the clearing, hand in hand, and her face lights up with delighted surprise. “You did all this for me?” If by all this she means laid out a blanket and some food, then yes. Yes, I did.
“I wish we could have done more,” I tell her as I kick off my shoes and step onto the blanket.
“More? Chase, this is amazing.”
“Let’s get your shoes off,” Hunter says, thankfully breaking the awkward moment I was creating.
“Stop doubting yourself,” he admonishes me through the bond, and he kneels down to pull off her shoes. “You’re doing great, don’t worry so much.”
“I just want it to be perfect.”
“It will be perfect,” he tells me. “Because it’s her and us. Everything else is just window dressing.”
He kicks off his own shoes as she steps onto the blanket, and I take a second to take a deep breath, trying to calm myself. But as I do, I get a deep whiff of her intoxicating scent, telling me she’s already damp between those pretty little thighs.
We reach for each other at the same time, and I pull her body against mine, dipping my head to smell her more deeply. “I’m telling myself to go slow with you, but you’re just so Goddess-damned tempting,” I grit out as I tell my dick to calm down.
“Chase,” she says, reaching up and cradling my cheek. “We have our whole lives to go slow. I don’t want to wait for you two any longer.”
I groan, shaking my head and burying my nose further into her hair as Hunter steps up behind her, sandwiching her between us.
“Baby, stop saying things like that, or I will tear your clothes from you and rut you right now, like my wolf is screaming at me to do.”
Her hand skates around to the back of my neck, then her fingers dig into my skin as she presses up on her tippy toes and whispers words that are my undoing.
“Do it. I dare you.”
