Chapter 1691 Mission Completed (2)
Sun Hao felt carefully; this giant dragon seemed at a critical juncture in its undead transformation, sluggish in reaction, not fully asleep. Sun Hao laughed softly and whispered, "Little Lan, your brother apparently took the mission to kill this big lizard. Should we help your brother slaughter it?"
Gerlane perked up immediately, clapping her hands and shouting loudly, "Slaughter it! Slaughter it! Daring to oppose my brother, we must absolutely slaughter it..."
Sun Hao said, "Very well then, Little Lan, sit tight. I'll test this big lizard's strength..."
Gerlane had just said "Good," when Sun Hao had already advanced. With a casual sweep, his enormous hand seized the relatively slender tail of the Frost Dragon.
The Frost Dragon finally reacted at this moment. Its eyes snapped open wide, and its mouth gaped, ready to unleash its frost breath.
Sun Hao roared loudly, "Jerk it!"
His right arm thrust forward, wrenching violently with all its might.
A surge of overwhelming power blasted from Sun Hao's sturdy right arm. The Frost Dragon, waking just a step too late and thus denied the chance to cast its innate spells, was thrown utterly off balance.
The massive dragon body actually straightened instantly under Sun Hao's force, like a snared snake being shaken stiff, pointing rigidly forward like a spear.
A thought of sheer disbelief flashed through the Frost Dragon's mind atop the mountain: What kind of monster is this? Such tremendous strength! Gathering all its bodily power, the Frost Dragon writhed frantically, desperate to break free from Sun Hao's grip.
Gerlane shouted enthusiastically, "Smash it dead! Smash it dead! Smash that big lizard flat!"
Sun Hao bellowed fiercely, "Good! Little Lan, watch how I exterminate this lizard."
He gripped the straight, rigid form of the enormous Frost Dragon in his right hand, then swung it overhead and slammed it down hard onto the solid ice of the Sacred Mountain with a thunderous crash.
The Frost Dragon, which had been struggling just moments prior, instantly spun into dizziness.
Before the Frost Dragon could regain its bearings, Sun Hao heaved it fiercely again and slammed it once more onto the icy mountain with another deafening boom.
Robbed of any chance to unleash its signature spells or tap into its potent undying physical strength, the Frost Dragon felt nothing but humiliation. Utterly helpless in Sun Hao's grasp, it became subdued purely by Sun Hao's terrifying, explosive, earth-shattering power.
Shaken arrow-straight and smashed with resounding cracks.
Left three times, then right three times – the very peak of the icy mountain caved in by dozens of feet, carved with gaping trenches eerily mirroring the Frost Dragon's own shape.
Amidst Gerlane's ecstatic cries of delight, the Frost Dragon was completely knocked unconscious.
The unconscious state didn't linger.
The Frost Dragon was completely pulverized.
Thus, the mighty Frost Dragon, capable of representing the pinnacle combat prowess of the entire Lower Realm, was silenced abruptly without managing a single counterattack. Bitterly humiliated, it became nothing more than flattened pulp under Sun Hao's onslaught. Its entire head was smashed concave, internal organs thoroughly fragmented beyond recognition, dead beyond any doubt.
Sun Hao took a slight breath, casually tossing the Frost Dragon carcass onto the ground. "Quickly, Little Lan," he urged. "That big lizard's blood, pair of horns, and hide are invaluable resources. Gather them fast. We can exit through the roof of its lair to carry these back..."
Gerlane leapt out swiftly to retrieve the Frost Dragon's horns, but questioned suspiciously, "No way, Xiaoshan. Grandma said Mirror Descent is an excellent method for Spirit Separation practice, but resources can't be brought back. Can these things truly be taken back?"
Sun Hao chuckled as he deftly skinned the dragon, using the shed hide to collect the azure-colored heart's blood. "Don't forget," he said, "You are the awe-inspiring legendary sorceress revered throughout the entire Half-Dead Frost Dragon Realm! Carrying a few things back might just be permitted for someone like you."
Gerlane didn’t hesitate either, wrestling determinedly with one immense dragon horn, straining to pull it free.
Sun Hao smiled as he worked. "Little Lan, you'd best dig around the horn base first. Otherwise, you'll never wrench it out."
After toiling for well over an hour, they had thoroughly dismembered the Frost Dragon. Gerlane eyed the still-massive remains and muttered, "The beast's claws and Dragon Tendons would be useful resources too. Probably too big to pack out, though."
A thought stirred within Sun Hao. "We've already gained plenty," he stated decisively. "Let's move."
Gerlane hoisted the huge horns. Sun Hao bundled the dragon skin and carried the collected blood as they headed into the Frost Dragon's cavern.
After a considerable distance, Sun Hao paused, glanced back at the Frost Dragon's corpse, mentally commanded his First-grade Purple-Gold Belt, and silently willed: "Draw it in."
The immense carcass wavered... then vanished completely, truly absorbed by the First-grade Purple-Gold Belt.
Wild elation surged through Sun Hao! The First-grade Purple-Gold Belt could actually carry resources out of the Lower Realm? His Mirror Descent training expeditions suddenly promised immense, tangible rewards!
Deep within the lair – once the domain of the realm’s apex predator – treasures glittered. Especially dazzling gems caught Gerlane’s eye, scattering beautiful, mesmerized reflections everywhere. Her backpack, crafted by Sun Hao, filled steadily with precious stones. Meanwhile, Sun Hao discreetly pocketed a few unique relics that inexplicably resonated with his inner Sumero-Void Condensing Pagoda.
They’d barely finished their plunder, still seeking an exit, when sudden dizziness struck them both. Recovering their senses moments later, they stood back inside the Mirror Image chamber.
"We're out! We actually exited!" Gerlane exclaimed. But glancing swiftly at her hands, disappointment clouded her features. "Oh dear, Xiaoshan! None of the gemstones made it back! Only the horns I was holding!" Her backpack treasures were gone; only the Dragon Horns she clutched had been transported.
Sun Hao, sitting cross-legged, reassured her warmly. "Getting the horns back is already quite an achievement, Little Lan. Don't fret. Safeguard these treasures quickly; they’re extraordinary finds." Internally, he confirmed that all items stored within his First-grade Purple-Gold Belt had returned intact. He then calmly secured the dragon skin and blood vials externally.
Gerlane sighed softly but obediently stored her Dragon Horns away.
Urgent thuds suddenly echoed at the chamber door. Grumbling, Gerlane strode over, "Who on earth... No sense letting people train in peace..." She pulled it open to reveal her brother Germain, eyeing her strangely, peering past her into the empty room.
Germain finally spoke, bewildered. "Lan'er... It's just you and Xiaoshan here? Truly?"
Gerlane replied, puzzled, "Yes, just us two. What's amiss, brother?"
Something wrong? Desperately wrong! Utterly unfathomable! Germain had waited endlessly, then been utterly floored: he received a Mirror prompt confirming successful completion of the Half-Dead Frost Dragon Realm mission! Meaning he could now claim the immense rewards!
But truthfully, Germain himself had been ejected a month ago! According to his information, the only Warriors remaining in that Realm – supposedly frolicking aimlessly – were his sister Gerlane and her Guardian Knight, Jiang Xiaoshan.
Had they killed the Frost Dragon? Preposterous!
Flinging open the chamber door only to find it barren deepened the baffling mystery further.
Taking a long, steadying breath, Germain lowered his voice. "Lan'er... So... The Half-Dead Frost Dragon Realm... Enjoyable?"
Gerlane instantly brightened, recounting excitedly, "Brother! You wouldn't believe the incredible adventure! All the natives revered my legendary sorceress fame! Gerlane's greatness echoed everywhere! Wherever I journeyed, countless souls pledged their allegiance spontaneously! Utterly epic!"
Germain rubbed his temples silently. Was his sister deluded, or was he losing his wits? Her words felt utterly mystifying...
Still deeply perplexed, he asked another question cautiously. "Those... massive hordes of bats? The ones shifting shape to mimic humans? Obsessed with tearing and biting... You saw them?"
Gerlane nodded vigorously. "Absolutely saw them! Millions upon millions! Endless black clouds blotting the mountaintops!"
Germain felt faint. His sister truly had reached the Sacred Mountain of Ice and Snow! "They... didn’t attack you both?" he pressed, utterly astonished.
