17. Han’some Valentine
Reaching for some paper towels, I quickly dried my hands.
Tonight, I wasn’t working, so after my studio session I came home to cook dinner for my wife.
I made her my infamous seafood-baked potato with a NY strip and broccoli on the side.
To ease her mind, I even handled the dishes and cleaning up so she could relax.
Koi was officially four months, and her belly was taking form.
Because I was so afraid she’d leave me if I slipped up, I waited on her hand and foot.
When I said she wouldn’t have any worries, I truly meant it.
Every morning and night, you could find me singing to her belly because I wanted my baby to know Daddy was here and always would be.
Since the kitchen was clean, I shut off the lights on my way out.
The house was quiet, so I had to go search for Koi.
I was on the way to our bedroom figuring she was in there, but my steps slowed when I heard her whispering on the phone.
Peeking through the crack in the door, I saw her lounging in my man cave like she was right.
“Wow, so y’all going out without me?” she whined.
“Yeah, it’s no point in inviting you when that husband of yours is going to come snatch you up. Just stay in the house and finish letting that baby bake,” I heard Marni tell her.
Koi pouted then leaned forward to rest her chin on her hands. “If y’all hate me, just say that.”
Merci’s voice was the next I heard. “It’s always love. Your man just strict as fuck.”
I snickered in the doorway and slapped a hand over my mouth, but I realized it was too late. She’d spotted me spying on her call with her cousins. “Are you hearing how your behavior has gotten me exiled from the group functions?”
I pushed the door open to walk deeper into the room. “It’s really your fault for being so beautiful. If you were ugly, it wouldn’t be an issue, honestly.”
She eyed me suspiciously. “And why is that?”
“Because no one would want you but me.” I shrugged my shoulders with a smirk.
She raced toward me and began beating on me.
Laughter flowed from the depths of my soul.
I tried to get away, but she straddled me on the couch to continue her assault.
“Aight, you better stop before I get the wrong idea.”
I bit my bottom lip, allowing my hands to roam over her soft skin. She nuzzled her nose against mine. “Can you keep your dick to yourself for more than one day?”
I gripped her ass cheeks with a grin. “I tried, but I swear, you be seducing me. Your perfume alone is enough to entice me into devouring you.”
“Oh my God. Bye, Koi. Don’t nobody want to hear this shit,” Marni fussed seconds before the phone beeped, indicating she’d hung up.
Koi snickered with a hand over her mouth. “See. You made me forget they were on the phone.”
I shook my head, ready to defend myself. “You’re the one that started turning me on first. It doesn’t take much, and that’s why you’re pregnant now.”
She nodded, sliding off the side off my lap to sit beside me. “You’re right.”
I pinched her cheek, making her smile. “What do you want to do, baby? You want to have the club at home?”
She pushed me to the side. “You’re annoying.” Glancing over to the far wall, she said, “I want you to teach me how to play darts.”
With a grin, I shot to my feet. “Alright, come on.” She accepted my hand so I could pull her to her feet. I walked us over to the board in the corner of the room. “You ever did this before?”
She shook her head, excitedly bouncing on her toes.
She waited expectantly for me to coach her.
Easing up behind her, I handed her a dart, then anchored a hand on her waist. Lifting her hand, I helped her aim for the target while giving her instructions.
On a count of three, I helped her launch the dart at the board.
It landed right in the middle. Koi clapped her hands together excitedly.
“Let me try on my own this time.”
I gave her another dart, sad that I had to take my hands off her.
Her soft, silky skin was my current obsession.
I hated to be too far away. I was so focused on the way the spandex of her two-piece set stretched over her growing frame that I almost jumped out the way too late.
The girl had somehow tossed the dart behind her instead of in the right direction.
“You trying to take my eye out or something?” I questioned, feeling very suspicious of her.
She yelped, looking so guilty. “I promise I’m not. That was an accident. It slipped.”
“Mhm, you get one more try before I declare you a threat to humanity.” I handed her another dart and dashed for the other side of the room. She couldn’t contain her laughter when she realized I was hiding behind the couch.
“Really, Han’some?”
“Don’t worry about me. Focus on the target.”
She slowly turned back to the board. I watched her close one eye and stick her tongue out to focus. That time, the dart went in the right direction; however, it lost air way before it hit the target. “I’m not good at this,” she whined with the most adorable expression.
I walked over to her and pulled on her bottom lip that she was sticking out.
“Don’t worry, baby. You’ll get better. It takes some practice.
” Using the last dart in my hand, I barely turned to look at the target before I launched the dart, hitting it directly in the middle. “Bullseye,” I said proudly.
Koi shoulder bumped me on her way by. “Show off.”
I chuckled as her phone began to ring where she’d abandoned it. Once I realized it was Skye, I snatched it up to answer the FaceTime. I took a seat on the couch, and Koi plopped down on my lap as the call connected.
“Hey, Daddy!” she greeted me excitedly.
“Hey, baby girl. I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” Koi said, joining in.
“I miss you,” Skye replied, referring to both of us. “I learned a new dance, Daddy.”
I tightened my grip on Koi and sank deeper into the couch. “Oh, yeah? Let me see.”
Koi rested her chin on my shoulder while we waited for Skye to prop the phone up.
Out of nowhere, she started bouncing her chest, and I looked at Koi, bewildered by what was happening in front of me.
I knew exactly what dance she so-called herself doing, and now my blood was boiling.
She even had the nerve to make the motion like she was smoking a cigarette and patting her weave with the dance.
“I’m going to fucking kill, Tana,” I mumbled to Koi, who was trying her hardest to hold her laugh in.
“Don’t hate on my Skye. She lowkey eating it up,” she joked in response.
I gently pushed her off me, making her laugh. She chased behind me and hopped on my back as I got ready to leave the room. “Aww, that’s such a cute dance, baby. Where’s your mommy? Let me talk to her.”
