Epilogue #3

“Bray, why don’t you tell my mum why it is exactly, that you want to join the church.” I smirk at him.

Holly high-fives me. She knows once my mum hears the nonsense, she will switch to our team.

“So our babies, your granddaughters, can become nuns,” Bray says so seriously; to which, my mum laughs her ass off.

“Oh, hunny, Bray. I’m sorry, but if those babies turn out anything like their mother, you’re going to be chasing boys away from the age of ten.

” She then scrunches her face up and adds, “Actually, if I recall, the first time Reilly kissed a boy, she was three. It was at a play group and she was adamant that the little boy was her boyfriend. No matter how much her dad told her she wasn’t allowed to have boyfriends. ”

Bray looks over at me in shock. I just shrug at him. I can’t help it if I appreciated boys from a young age. He then turns to look out at the yard and calls out to Ash.

“Hey, Ash.” He waits for Ash to turn around.

“You and I are going to start training. I’m teaching you how to kick ass, mate,” Bray declares, walking up to him and picking him up.

Everyone else is laughing, but the problem is Bray’s not kidding. He seriously is going to start teaching Ash how to fight. As he reaches the top of the deck again, Zac is quick to pinch Ash out of Bray’s hands.

“Aw, come on, man. He needs to learn how to protect his little cousins.” Bray then looks at Alyssa.

“You…” He points to her. “You need to start pumping out some more boys. We’re gonna need an army.” Alyssa looks horrified.

“Me? Why me? You have a perfectly young and fertile sister you know, goes by the name of Ella,” Alyssa informs him.

Both Zac and Bray groan and screw up their noses. “No,” they say at the same time.

“Fuck no,” Bray says again, shaking his head and adding extra emphasis to the no.

I expected their reaction, but what makes me curious is Dean’s reaction. He goes still, looking back and forward between the two brothers. They’re in front of him so they can’t see him, or his reaction.

“You know, she’s not a baby anymore. It’s bound to happen,” he says.

Both brothers turn and glare at him. Bray, who happens to know just how Ella feels about Dean, raises his eyebrows.

“Oh, and just who do you think it’s going to happen with?” he asks, then furthers his point, trying to elicit a reaction from Dean. “You think Ella’s in her apartment now, busy with some university jock she met last night?”

Dean’s face goes blank. Got to give it to the guy, he has one hell of a poker face when he needs it.

I notice his hands clench and unclench though.

He does not like that thought at all. I can’t wait to see how this plays out in the future.

That man is in love, stupid for denying it, but in love he is.

“She is studying. I had a call from her earlier. She’s alone in her apartment, idiot,” Zac says to Bray.

“I know that. I spoke to her an hour ago,” Bray confirms. It amazes me how much these two can’t let go of their baby sister. It’s also endearing to know that my girls are going to experience that same unconditional love.

Bray is going to be the best father. He excelled at being the best boyfriend, he excelled at being the best husband and I know he will be the best father.

“Bray, can you help me up?” I hold out my hands to him.

I can fully get up on my own, sort of; I just want an excuse to touch him and pull him away from everyone else. He walks over and pulls me up, not letting go of my hands until he knows I have even footing. I grab his hand and pull him inside.

“I need you to, ahh, help me reach something in the kitchen,” I say maybe a bit too loudly.

Once inside, I pull his mouth down to mine. I’m so hungry for him. I thought I was horny a lot before, but that has nothing on these bloody pregnancy hormones. I moan into his mouth as he takes over the kiss.

We eventually pull apart, breathing heavier than we were before. “You good?” he asks while pushing my hair out of my face.

“I’m good. I just really, really love you.” This is nothing new to him. I tell him multiple times a day how much I love and appreciate him.

“I really fucking love you too,” he replies.

I get lost for a moment in those green orbs of his. I thank God that he was able to bulldoze those walls of mine down. I thank God every day that our souls are fused together as one.
