Chapter XV

How long could this possibly take?

Without a clock in the cramped space, it feels like we’ve been trapped for hours.

I squirm irritably, sitting on the floor with my legs outstretched.

Knox is sitting across from me; one knee bent upward as his eyes stay glued to my every move.

He watches me. I tilt away in both submission and avoidance of those piercing eyes.

“You’re cold,” he states as I try to stop shivering.

“It’s the draft from the air vent,” I glare up at it on the ceiling adjacent to me.

“Come over here,” Knox offers, removing his suit jacket.

Before I can even decide for myself if I want to do that or not, my body listens obediently.

I crawl across the elevator and sit beside Knox.

He swiftly wraps his jacket around my shoulders and pulls me into his side with the heavy weight of his arm wrapped around me.

A small sigh of relief escapes my lips from the additional body heat radiating off him.

After a minute, Knox heaves out a stressed puff of air, and I wait patiently for whatever has been festering in his mind during our entrapment.

“What about you and Brock?” he asks with a bitter edge to his deep voice.

“What about us?” I raise an eyebrow of confusion, though he can’t see my face.

“You know what I’m asking, Ari,” Knox grumbles, squeezing me tighter.

This time, I lift my head enough to face him when I respond.

“We’re coworkers, Knox. We work together.”

The Alpha scowls, possessiveness filling his gaze as his grip on me tightens to something almost painful. I haven’t seen him this close to losing control since we were kids. It should be scarier now that he’s much bigger and stronger, but I find myself shuddering against him inappropriately.

“Is that all you do together? I’ve seen him walk down to your wing.”

I groan with agitation, turning my head away, but Knox catches my chin and pulls me back, making my breath hitch. What is it about this Alpha that makes me so weak?

I open my mouth to respond, to tell him that at the end of the day Brock is a Beta and my anatomy just doesn’t crave him the same, but my eyes fall to Knox’s mouth and my cheeks burn hot. The scent of my slick fills the confined space, turned on by his assertiveness.

He knows. He fucking knows I only want him. What use is a conversation? It’s no secret what I came up to his office for.

A smug look of recognition fills his gaze and then his lips are on mine.

It happens fast and greedy the way we latch onto each other, overdue for our daily wild sex.

I swing my leg over to straddle his lap as his tongue pries its way into my mouth, sharing each ragged breath.

It’s impossible to even pretend I could have feelings for anyone other than him. And he knows that.

“Knox!” I moan his name, tossing my head back as he sucks my jaw and neck in a way that I’m sure will leave bruises.

His hands pause from groping me to frantically undo the button and zipper on his dress pants.

I watch impatiently, rocking against his clothed erection as it stiffens fast. Small gasps of appreciation escape my lips as I eat up the sight of his massive dick flopping free.

There’s something so hot about the way he exceeds in everything. Brock doesn’t even compare.

Holy hell. How can one man be so perfect? A cock like that should be worshiped. Praised. To think that my teenage years could’ve been a hell of a lot more fun if we’d stuck together.

Taking it into my hand, I gently tug the warm weight of it, stroking slowly as it twitches and grows.

While I play with it, Knox groans and feels me up, tangling his rough hand in the back of my hair as he kisses me with force.

Eventually he frees my own hard-on. Once we’re both deviously exposed, I grind my hips forward to press our erections together.

My eyes roll at the sensation and I move faster, chasing that wonderful friction that sends electric currents through my body.

“Such a good Omega. So fucking gorgeous,” Knox whispers against my skin as we rock together.

I moan into the small room as he wraps his large hands around us and begins jerking us in time with my thrusts. His leaking cock lubricates mine, pushing me to the edge.

“I’m gonna cum!” I cry out, unable to handle what a tantalizing Alpha he’s become. As much as I’ve been dying to take my time with him, sex hasn’t lasted longer than five minutes between us since we began fucking.

“Cum with me, Ari. Ready?” Knox says with a husky voice, stroking us faster and squeezing tighter.

“Ahh, fuck, Knox! I’m ready!”

“Look at me,” he demands and my eyelids shoot open.

Our lustful gazes merge sending me soaring on a wave of bliss as my orgasm surfaces.

It feels so intimate and meant to be, and I can tell just by staring into his cognac diamond irises as he groans and shudders against me, that he feels the same.

Shooting our loads, his hand continues to slide our mixed release over both our pulsing dicks, adding to the filthy pleasure.

It feels too good to stop. Too good to silence our shuddering moans or care about the camera in the corner.

Once our heartbeats slow to a less urgent rhythm, we use Knox’s jacket to clean the mess between us, leaving him in just a crisp, white top. I bite my lip, trying not to ogle his broad chest as we situate ourselves. Of course, he catches me and smirks while zipping up his pants.

“Remember when we were twelve,” Knox rumbles, sounding a bit tired after the amount of energy that grinding session drew from us, “and you had those black shorts with the white stripes on the side.”

I stand, attempting to situate my hair and clothes by using my blurry reflection in the silver wall of the elevator.

“Yeah. I think I remember. What about them?”

Knox comes up behind me, pressing against my back and wrapping his arms around my waist.

“They were so short. It was the first time I’d really seen your legs, and...you looked hot in them, but I didn’t know how to handle those feelings at the time,” he confesses and my heart warms.

“Well, you must’ve bottled them up tightly. I would’ve never guessed,” I mutter, not remembering Knox’s reaction from a single time that I wore those shorts. He’s always been respectful of me as an Omega. I raised him well.

“Have you ever had feelings like that? For me, I mean?”

I tilt my head back on his shoulder, cozy in his embrace while I try to think.

There was one time I’d watched him and our old friend Chet playing catch in the yard with their shirts off.

The way Knox’s biceps contracted and relaxed, rippling with new muscles of a developing Alpha.

I began to squirm in the grass, and a sensation of wetness began to form around my hole.

I assumed it was more about my own growing body rather than who caused it, but looking back, I can see how Knox may have triggered my Omega senses.

“I remember– “ just as I try to respond, the elevator makes a loud noise and jolts.

“Holy fuck,” Knox comments, staring around in confusion.

We split apart and the elevator jostles again, dropping us a few feet lower.

I gasp, clutching Knox’s arm until there’s a beep drawing our attention to the digital display which now says five.

Concerned, we both stare at the door, hearts hammering when it begins to slide open.

I swallow, unready to step out of the intimate moment we shared.

The last thing I expect to see is a crowd of people waiting in front of us. Not just mechanics, but also receptionists, assistants, security guards, and worst of all, news cameras.

Oh, no– Not the worst of all. That would actually be Jaimie barging through the crowd, eyes blown wide as he assesses the disheveled state we’re in. Hickeys, flushed cheeks, messy hair, haphazard clothes. It’s obvious what we’d been up to in there.

Embarrassment floods my entire soul.

Without thinking, I smash the button for the ground floor, even as mechanics try to cheer that we’ve finally been rescued and apologize to Knox for the long wait. Ignoring their stunned gazes and flashing cameras, I let the door fall shut again.

Knox and I are silent as we descend. I’m not sure what his plan is, but mine is to run for the nearest exit and never look back. This is horrible for both our careers. Knox’s more than mine. I wince at the thought, bravely stealing a glance at his tense expression. Is he mad at me?

Quickly, he slides his phone from his pocket and rapid-fire taps at the screen before tucking it away.

I’m a little irritated that he had that on him the whole time, but I suppose it wouldn’t have been much help.

The elevator beeps for the first floor and I take a deep breath knowing we won’t have escaped the nosey crowd.

“Hold on to my arm and don’t let go or stop for anyone,” Knox commands.

I nod, accepting his strong forearm as the door slides open again.

Cameras blind us, capturing the shame on my face.

Knox pummels through the group, pulling me along behind him as I try to shield my eyes with my free arm.

I can picture the tabloid covers already.

He leads me through a door, pestering questions hot on our trail.

Astronomers and scientists stare, disturbed by the loud disruption. We’re so getting fired.

I’m relieved when Knox finally bursts through an exit, guiding me outside. We hurry down the steps, ignoring the lewd remarks following us. Part of me simmers with anger, disgusted that they think less of an Alpha and Omega for having feelings for each other.

Tears burn my eyes as Knox helps me into the waiting backseat of a black luxury sedan.

Without a word, a valet swiftly closes the door on us, and the driver peels off.

I break the silence with a sniffle and then I’m being enveloped in strong arms. Knox holds me tight as I break down, petting my hair which I’m sure is disastrous.

“I’m sorry,” my voice cracks.

“Shh. It’s not your fault,” Knox whispers.

The baritone of his voice vibrates my cheek where it rests on his chest.

“You’re going to lose your job!” I sob against him.

“We’ll be okay.”

Knox grabs my jaw, pulling me up for a deep kiss. I don’t understand how he’s okay with everything. I might’ve just jeopardized his whole career. At least he belonged at Comet XI, unlike me. No wonder Omegas aren’t allowed anywhere. Clearly, we just get in the way.

“Stop it,” Knox demands, making my skin shiver.

I gaze into his intense eyes before tilting my neck in submission. He’s right. I shouldn’t be self-loathing. We fucked up and that’s that. We need to accept the consequences.

Knox’s phone rings in his pocket, buzzing against my thigh. I lean back, but he tugs me forward, ignoring the call. I’m not sure if it’s because he wants me close, or because he’s avoiding whatever trouble we’ve gotten ourselves into.

A few minutes later, we arrive at the gate of a fancy brick house across a perfectly cropped lawn.

Knowing Knox, I can only assume he saved the mega mansion for his parents and settled in this humble yet extravagant home for himself.

He climbs out first, taking my hand to guide me out.

Chivalry is alive and well where this Alpha is concerned.

He leads the way inside, and I’m immediately comforted by his surrounding scent. It’s everywhere, hugging me like a cover to a book, fiercely protecting me in an embrace.

“This is nice,” I comment, observing the classy decoration style. It’s very masculine with an undertone of softness that makes it feel welcoming. A stark contrast to being shunned out of the place that was a second home to us.
