Chapter 2
CHAPTER TWO
Lila
My growing family makes its way back to our rooms. We feed the children and put them down for a nap, the three of them worn out after their big swim in the Aquilian pool with their daddy.
None of them put up any argument, they just shift into their human forms, snuggle up next to each other, and are out within minutes.
“Holy crap, what did you do to them? I’ve never seen them go to bed so quickly before,” I ask Caspian as I return to the living area where all six of my mates are waiting.
Echo has returned to his humanoid form. I was freaked out when he shifted the first time after finding out he was pregnant.
I read many shifter books that said they couldn’t shift while pregnant, but they reassured me that it was fine.
Cas chuckles as I sit down on the sofa next to Xavier. “They had fun chasing Sweetpea around the pool. They were at it for ages. It seems to really love the children.”
“Of course it does, they are amazing.” I preen, not even slightly embarrassed about how proud I am of them.
“Now why do I get the feeling you’re not feeding properly?
” I reach for my warlock’s hand, and his skin is cool to the touch.
I worry so much about Xavier. He’s been dying to return home to have his parents return my memories so our intimate bond can be sealed.
This is just another delay to something that has been put off for far too long.
I’m surprised he’s so calm. I thought he would lose his shit, but maybe he’s too exhausted.
Now that I look closely, I can see the bags under his eyes, his silver markings are faded, and he’s much paler than normal.
He even feels less powerful. When I first met him, he felt like a power station.
He made my jaw ache with how powerful he felt, but now I don’t know if I’m used to it, or if I’m immune because I’m his intimate, but he doesn’t feel like that at all, and I’m worried it’s because he gave up his harem for me, and without the bond, he’s not feeding like he should.
A wave of guilt washes over me, and he huffs. “Don’t feel guilty, Lila. I knew what I was signing up for. Things will be better once we seal our bond. I will be back to full strength.”
His words basically confirm what I expected. “You’re starving? How long has this been going on for? Why aren’t you feeding properly?”
“Be honest, X. We can’t help you if you lie to us,” Saxon scolds his sometimes lover, frowning with disappointment. If I guess correctly, he’s feeling as guilty as I am.
Xavier winces, and his eyes shift from side to side like he’s trying to think of an excuse. He isn’t fooling anyone. “Just be truthful. We can’t help you if you lie,” I demand, and he huffs out a big sigh.
“I fed fully when we were on Station X69, with all those beings with all those vices. I felt full for the first time in a while, but when I let my harem go and promised to feed from just you, I thought our intimate bond would be established quicker. Once it’s formed, I won’t have any problems feeding from you exclusively.
It’s a part of what makes the bond so essential to a warlock, but without it, I run the risk of draining you until you’re a husk like Mithus was. ”
“Damn it, Xavier, I told you to feed from the others.” I wave my hand at the rest of my husbands. “I know Saxon will help you.”
He wrinkles his nose, and a small blush rises to his cheeks.
Saxon chuckles. “Lila, he went from feeding from nine different people every day to just you and occasionally me.”
“And by feeding, you mean fucking?” I ask dryly, already knowing the answer. “How did you find time in your day to do anything else?” I ask sarcastically, hating the reminder that I’m not enough for him, not that I think that was Saxon’s intention at all.
“Lila, phoeall, don’t be like that. I only have eyes for you,” Xavier lies, and I snort, not that I’m upset. He is a highly sexual creature and is used to having sex at his beck and call.
“And Saxon, and I’m sure everyone else in the room isn’t on the no list either,” I point out, knowing my warlock fiancé is somewhat of a man-whore.
He at least has the grace to blush a little harder.
“So what we need is an orgy then.” I stand up and brush imaginary lint off my pants as a rush of excitement replaces the guilt.
You have no idea how long I have been wanting to say those words.
It’s all I can do to contain my gleeful grin.
“Right, who’s in?” I look around the room and almost chuckle at the wide-eyed look Cas is giving me.
Saxon and Link are less shocked—in fact, both of them look amused.
They know this is what I’ve wanted for ages, but it’s the first time I’ve had a chance to suggest it.
I am all fucking in. My body starts to tingle with anticipation, and my mimic powers roll inside me.
I feel that familiar itch urging me to change form.
Maybe I should take my warlock form and feed too.
Xavier hasn’t taught me how to do that yet because he was waiting until our bond had been sealed so I can feed exclusively from him, but it really is something I should learn.
If I need it for an extended amount of time, then I need to learn how to feed so I don’t hurt myself while using my warlock powers.
“Well? Cas? Link? Want to come play in the bedroom with me and these two.” I cross my fingers behind my back, but I think Link sees it because he chuckles.
“Sure, why not. As long as that’s what you want, and Xavier doesn’t mind.”
“I mean, yeah, sure, it could be fun.” I’m nearly about to bust out a happy dance, but I’m trying to play it cool.
“Of course I don’t mind.” Cas has recovered from his shock and looks almost as excited as I do.
When I look over at my warlock to see if I can gauge his feelings, his eyes are hooded and smoldering with desire. Okay, this is a go.
I turn my attention to my kitties. “What about you two?”
Before either of them can answer, Xavier uncrosses his legs and gracefully stands, his movements lithe and languid.
“I know the pretty alpha kitty is probably feeling incredibly territorial with his pregnant omega over there, so I wasn’t even going to ask either of them to feed me. Not at this stage.”
Maxsim nods solemnly at Xavier, appreciation in his gaze.
“You are right. I wouldn’t want to share Echo with anyone but Lila at the moment.
” My glee dips slightly, but I also understand.
The alpha whisperer side of me is agreeing strongly with Maxsim.
It’s so weird having all these different emotions tugging at me.
It makes me feel slightly off balance. “But that’s not to say things won’t be different in the future.
” He shrugs casually, and my glee returns.
“I think I’ll take a little nap in my nest. I’m feeling extremely tired. Growing babies is hard work,” Echo jokes, rubbing his belly. I hurry over to my pretty kitty and wrap my arms around him, rubbing my cheek against his furry one.
“It sure is. I remember it well. Go rest, and I’ll rub your feet when we’ve taken care of Xavier,” I promise him, and he starts to purr, wrapping his arms around me.
“Or you could rub something else,” he whispers into my ear, and I smirk. Ah, yes, pregnancy horniness. I remember that well too. I feel Maxsim at my back, his arms circling my waist, sandwiching me between the two cats.
“Settle now, Omega. I’m sure Lila will rub whatever you want her to once she’s finished looking after the warlock.”
“I sure will.” My sexual appetite is just as big as Xavier’s now that my mimic powers are fully active.
Although I haven’t had the need to use them, they haven’t fully settled, and according to Oshan, they won’t until I have enough mates bonded to me.
Who knows how many that will be? “Sleep well.” I bid them farewell, and the two of them head to their shared room.
Much like their previous accommodations, it is designed like an Iceen den with temperature controls that lower it to the correct icy temperature.
They still use their previous accommodations to run around in for exercise, since their room in our suite isn’t big enough for that, and we kept the old Iceen den as is for when Minx and the other three return to the circus once it reconvenes.
The only change they made was combining the multiple dens into one for the four of them.
It also gives them a little more space to romp around in the snow.
I can barely contain myself as we head for our bedroom.
It’s all I can do not to use my Vilaxian speed to get there quicker.
I hear Xavier chuckle behind me. He must be able to feel my excitement.
I feel so bad that he’s starving because we haven’t been able to establish our bond yet.
I will rectify that as soon as we are done with our sexual shenanigans.
I’ll have Saxon help me make a call to his parents.
If we can’t get to them, then I’ll have them come to us.
