Chapter 1 Delivery on Sixteen

"Bzz bzz bzz!"

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

I set the two jugs of water down with effort and dug out the phone. It was Lao Zhang.

"Qin Ye, did you find the place?"

The noise on Lao Zhang's end was loud. He was probably handing out jobs to other people.

"Found it. Heading upstairs now."

I hung up, grabbed the water, and walked toward the elevators.

This was the first time since I got out that I had come somewhere this flashy.

The commercial tower looked damn impressive.

I followed the crowd into the elevator and hit sixteen.

Right after I stepped out, I saw the large letters on the wall: Qichen Capital.

One look and you could tell it was a company that did not lack money.

A faint scent hung in the air, hard to name, and pretty nice.

I drew in a breath and walked up to the fancy front desk.

"Hello. Water delivery. Where should I put this?"

"Go all the way down that way. First room on the right."

The girl at the desk was typing. She did not even lift her head. She just pointed right.

"Okay."

I picked up the jugs and went where she said.

"Right turn. First room."

I looked up. It was a conference room.

The door was cracked open.

I did not think much of it. I turned sideways, put my shoulder to the door, and shoved it open.
