Chapter 25 Fists Under Streetlight
"Fuck your mother, Ji Yanli!"
I roared. The sound came out hoarse, not like me.
Lame leg, getting old, I threw all that shit behind me.
I went at Ji Yanli like a trapped animal that had been pushed too far.
I put everything I had into it and smashed at that cold face.
The fist landed solid on his jaw with a dull sound.
Ji Yanli's head snapped aside. He staggered a step. Blood showed at the corner of his mouth at once.
I did not stop. I was fully gone. Fist after fist.
Ji Yanli hit back.
After that we grappled.
Under that dim, freezing streetlight, we tore at each other like two wild dogs.
No form. Only the most primitive collision of force and hate.
Fists, elbows, knees...... every part we could use became a weapon.
The dull impacts and the heavy breathing rang sharply in the quiet night.
My leg was bad, and I was older. I started to lose ground.
I missed one beat, and Ji Yanli's fist drove into my gut.
The pain blacked my vision. I dropped, curled up, barely able to breathe.
Tang Xiaomang's face went deathly pale. He shoved Ji Yanli hard and threw himself on me, crying.
Ji Yanli froze in place. His hands trembled a little.
