Lizzie People keep

An interview with Jared and Lizzie…

Ah, I love your sweet love story and how you overcame a major misunderstanding to put your relationship back together.

Lizzie: That was such an upsetting time. I was so relieved to be with Jared again after more than a month of thinking I’d lost him forever.

Jared: Same. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when she arrived with Alex and David.

Speaking of them, Lizzie, do you ever wonder what might’ve happened if David hadn’t recognized you as the woman Jared loved?

Lizzie: Jared and I have talked about that so many times and how there was something bigger than us involved in making sure we didn’t miss out on the love of our lifetimes. We’re extremely thankful to David for what he did for us that night. We’re still close to him, Daisy and their family.

Jared: In some ways, I owe David everything for what he did when he saw Lizzie about to leave without seeing me. It can still make me a little weak in the knees to think of her being there and me never knowing.

Thank goodness it all worked out the way it was meant to. How is your darling Violet doing?

Lizzie: She’s about to be ten years old, and we’re in absolute shock at how fast the years have flown by. We were delighted to adopt her a little brother, Miles, seven years ago, and they’re the absolute lights of our lives.

Do you hear from Violet’s biological parents, Jessie and Brooks?

Lizzie: We’re in touch with all four of our children’s biological parents, and the kids know them and see them at least once a year. They’re part of our family.

That’s an amazing arrangement.

Jared: It’s worked out well, and we’ve always felt it was important for the kids to know their birth stories.

Being parents has been the most fun either of us has ever had, and we’re deeply thankful to the people who made it possible.

Vi and Mi, as we call them, adore each other and love being together.

She’s an awesome big sister to him, and he worships the ground she walks on.

Lizzie: People keep telling us to enjoy that while it lasts because eventually they’ll be fighting, but we don’t think that’s going to happen with them. They’re best friends.

That’s so lovely. We couldn’t be happier for you guys! How’s business?

Jared: I’m still working a few hours a day, managing my portfolio and that of several clients. I also teach others the secrets to successful investment. Oliver Watson, who was one of my first students, is a partner with me in that endeavor. He’s my star student.

We love to hear you’re still working with Oliver. How fun! And what about The Chesterfield, Lizzie?

Lizzie: We did thirty weddings last year, as well as several anniversary parties, a couple of bridal showers and two baby showers. We’re busy year-round.

Wow, that is busy. I assume you have some help running the place?

Lizzie: Ironically, Dara Watson has become my right hand there. I couldn’t do it without her.

I love that you’re both working with the Watsons.

Jared: They’re among our closest friends. We have a great time together and have even traveled together with our kids.

Who else are you still close to?

Lizzie: We have more friends here than either of us has ever had anywhere else.

We’re especially close to Jared’s brother Quinn and his wife, Mallory, as well as his sister Kendall and her boys when they’re home from college.

We love having Jared’s youngest brother, Cooper, his wife, Gigi, and their family here in the summers, when he runs his successful party boat business.

We spend time with Alex and Jenny Martinez and their kids, as well as Paul and Hope Martinez and their kids. The list could go on all day.

Jared: Life is good on Gansett Island.

Love to hear that!
