Logan
Ispend the rest of the flight texting. Lia fell asleep in my arms, her face drenched in tears, and while these don’t exactly make me feel hard, I don’t feel guilty either.
I probably should. I realize, objectively, what an asshole I’m being, threatening to lock her in a cage after all these years of traumatic imprisonment. And it’s not an empty threat, either.
Maybe I will feel bad, when the time comes to make good on my word. I have a feeling I’ll spend half my time aching to lock her up, and the rest of the time, feeling guilty about having given into the urge.
Oh, well. Fuck it.
I’ve carried her to the bedroom in the back, laying her down gently on the bed beside me, her head falling against my cock as I settle into a sitting position, my back resting against the headboard.
Okay, I’m hard.
But I’m also very focused on the semblance of a plan that I’ve come up with.
It’s really the only plan possible. Visit the Solaros, the dead baby’s parents.
There’s no indication that they’re related in any way to my Jane. The only thing tying them to my daughter’s disappearance is the case of mixed-up identity that led to me believing that the body lying under Devil College was my daughter’s.
But nothing else I’ve come up with so far makes any sense. So I guess that’ll be my first stop, as soon as we reach the States. Or my second one, the first being the cage where I’ll be locking up my girl.
_
By the time we reach the United States, I’ve found out a whole lot about the Solaros, courtesy of Everest and Google.
They’re recluses, and even their neighbors haven’t seen them in years.
No one’s sure if they’re alive; the only tell-tale sign is the groceries that get delivered every Monday at eight a.m. on the dot.
And then, the house doesn’t stink. No rotting cadavers inside.
“Wake up, lazy girl,” I murmur in Lia’s ear when the pilot announces we’ll be landing in twenty minutes.
“I don’t want to,” she mutters, flipping around to her stomach. “I hate you, and I never want to get up again.”
Her words send a pang of pain through me, but I ignore it, and rub her ass. “Too bad; you’re stuck with me.”
“Just lock me in your cage and let me die.” She sniffs loudly as I kiss the curve of her neck. “I don’t want to be alive anymore.”
“Stop that.” I flip her back, staring at her face to try to decipher her emotions. But she shuts her eyes, keeping me out. “Stop fucking with me, Lia. I’ve had enough.”
She draws herself up so she’s resting on her elbow.
“I’ve had enough of wondering if you’re going to kill me or just hold me captive,” she lashes out. “I’ve had enough of your casual cruelty, Logan. I’ve had enough of you.”
I reach out to squeeze her cheeks, anger coursing through my veins, and it takes everything I have not to strike her. She can tell, too: she can tell how close I am to doing something I could never forgive myself for.
She cringes, and that small movement makes me let go of her, and edge backward until I’ve hit the opposite wall. “Don’t fucking talk to me like that, Lia; you can think it if you want. I don’t give a shit what you’re thinking. Just don’t fucking say it.”
She stares at me sullenly.
“Answer me, Lia.”
“You didn’t ask me anything.”
“Just…” I ball my hands into fists, willing myself to stay in control of my anger. “Just fucking say something!”
“It doesn’t matter what I say.” She lets out a shuddering sigh. “You’ve made that clear.”
My heart twists as I realize I’m losing her. I’m losing her all over again. Only this time, it’s because of me.
Fuck, am I going to spend the rest of my life losing her?
No. She’s here, her body is here, and it’s mine. I can’t lose her, just as long as I keep her locked up. Can I?
“That’s right,” I spit out. “That’s right, it doesn’t matter. Get on the floor, Lia. On your knees with your arms up.”
Slowly, she gets into my preferred position, keeping her eyes down.
“Say something.” My voice comes out tight, far too tight.
“What do you want me to say?”
“Anything! Fucking anything! No, never mind. Don’t speak. I don’t want to hear your voice.”
I sit on the bed so I’m facing her, and try to glue my eyes to her body so they don’t wander up to her face. I don’t want to see the sullen, resigned expression that I know I’ll find there.
Gingerly, I tug up her shirt, bunching it up so it holds over her breasts.
They’re as fat as ever, but the nipples are soft.
I stroke across them, pinching and tweaking them, but they take an awfully long time to form stiff peaks.
And she’s not reacting at all; she’s perfectly still, as if I’m not having the least effect on her.
I grit my teeth in frustration, stroking her more, pulling her to me and sucking her tit into my mouth just the way she likes it, swirling my tongue around the sensitive bud, using just a little teeth to keep her on edge.
Still nothing.
She doesn’t say red, but she doesn’t say anything else, either.
How the hell did we get here? Everything had felt so good. I had felt so connected to her. All it took was me telling her my plans for the cage.
I know I could get her back by lying. I could tell her I didn’t mean any of it. That I love her, and she’s my equal.
Only she isn’t. And I’m going to lock her in that motherfucking cage, because there’s just no fucking way I’m losing her again.
Overwhelmed by sudden rage, I draw back, replacing my mouth with my fingers. I latch onto her tits, and pinch them until she has no choice—a loud scream leaves her lips.
“Logan! Stop! Please, stop! Red!”
“Sorry, Lia. Sorry.” Guilt overwhelms me. I lift her up into my arms, cradling her. “I’m sorry I hurt you. I love you, baby.”
It’s probably just from habit, but she nestles her head in my chest, wetting my shirt.
I really can’t help it; even as my heart breaks from seeing the visible sign of her pain, my cock feels ready to burst.
“Maybe I should have pinched you harder,” I murmur, my hand traveling down to her panties. “You said red, but you’re soaked, ghost girl. Can I touch you again? I’ll be gentle, I promise.”
She bites her lip. “Yes... please.”
“I think you’ll like the cage,” I breathe, stroking up her thighs. “We’re both fucked-up in the head, aren’t we? Just like you said. And I just know you’ll like it.”
She swallows audibly, but she doesn’t deny it, or go into that passive mode that terrifies me.
“I’m going to keep you inside it until you like it.
I don’t care how long it takes; days or weeks or months.
You’re going to learn to love it.” She lets out a whimper of fear, but it quickly turns into a moan as I slip a hand under her panties and draw circles around her clit, my fingers swiping away at her wetness before pushing into her.
Her cunt grips me and I thrust into her hard as she rides my hand.
But the moment she starts bucking up, I stop.
This time, it’s not fear but frustration that makes her whimper.
“Remember, no coming for nineteen days,” I tell her. “When you go around blowing up places with bazookas, there are consequences.”
“Logan…”
“Maybe, though,” I say, going back to stroking her pussy, “I’ll change my mind… if you let me keep you in the cage.”
She glares at me. “I didn’t realize I had a choice about that.”
“Of course you do,” I admit, pushing her down on the mattress and taking out my cock. “You’ll always have a choice.”
