Ghosts of the Island Library

Librarian Callie Jameson heads for Petite Bois Island, a barrier island off the Louisiana coast, after learning she has inherited its historic library from Khaki Boudreaux, the beloved patron who told her about the beautiful life and love once lived there.

Seeing a chance to start over, Callie packs up her tortoiseshell cat, Stella, and goes south.

She is met not with hospitality but by Trey LeBlanc, a strikingly handsome tenant who claims the library is his; he spent his happiest summers there with his Aunt Khaki, has been renovating the building, and means to persuade Callie and her opinionated cat to sell.

When strange things begin happening, Trey hopes the supposed ghosts will frighten her away.

He changes his mind once he sees that the disturbances are not neighborhood kids pulling pranks but a dangerous scheme to get rid of the woman he is beginning to fall for.
