Chapter Eleven
The music was loud, but it felt good to dance around the whole house with Doc. They were both very much naked. Razor and Eden had left for the night to go to the club. Maeve had tried to talk to Eden, but they made a date promising to talk to one another soon.
She had yet to tell Eden about the job offer from Kristin Shaw, which she’d already taken, and would start after Easter.
She’d also turned down several other big career opportunities, but she didn’t care about those.
It was time for her to get settled. Work was still part of her life, but she was going to take the clients she liked, rather than just any job thrown her way.
She wanted to talk to her sister, because she was tired of keeping Doc a secret. Nancy already knew about them, and soon, they were going to tell Charlotte together. She was nervous about Charlotte and Eden and wondered what they would think.
“I’ve got you,” Doc said, wrapping his arms around her. She laughed, putting her arms around the back of his neck. She couldn’t stop laughing. It felt so good to be in his arms.
“And I’ve got you,” she said.
She let out a squeal as he dipped her down, swinging her around, tipping close to the floor and lifting her back up.
“Don’t drop me.”
“Never.” He pulled her in close and the moment his arms tightened, she felt so incredibly safe. No one ever made her feel this way. “Are you ready to go again?”
With him holding her, yes.
She smiled and couldn’t help but laugh as he dipped her back down and she let out a squeal.
He lifted her up, spun her around, and then pulled her in close, spinning her away again.
The third time, he cupped her cheek and kissed her hard.
Her toes curled as it filled her body with warmth.
She got lost to the feel of his lips. One of his hands moved down from her back, going toward her ass.
The way he squeezed her cheeks made her whimper, and she didn’t want to stop.
“Oh, my God!”
Maeve gasped, and she spun around, only to let out a scream. Doc pulled her behind him and lifted up one of the cushions.
Razor and Eden had stepped inside the house, and they witnessed her and Doc dancing naked together. This was not how she wanted her sister to find out. This was a nightmare and why she should have taken the time to talk to Eden.
“Is this ... what the ... am I dreaming right now?” Eden asked.
“You’re not dreaming,” Maeve said. “Uh, this was something I was going to tell you about, but it kind of just happened, and ... well ... what are you doing home?”
Maeve looked on the floor attempting to find any clothes that would cover herself up.
This was the last thing she anticipated.
She saw Doc’s leather jacket, and she quickly pulled it on.
He had the pillow that covered his dick, and she had nothing.
Thankfully his jacket was long enough to cover her personals.
“I was not feeling too good,” Eden said. “I didn’t want to say at the clubhouse and figured I’d come back home.”
She stepped around Doc and quickly moved toward her sister, taking hold of her hands. “Let’s get you upstairs. Do I need to call the doctor?” she asked.
Eden shook her head. “No, please, no doctor. I can’t stand anyone poking or prodding me.”
Maeve tried not to think about her ass sticking out of the back as she made her way upstairs with Eden. Neither of them spoke as she helped her sister onto the bed.
“You know, I can move.”
“I know. I know. You’re getting bigger every day,” Maeve said. Eden glowed with happiness. Pregnancy suited her so much.
“Thanks, that is what every pregnant woman wants to hear. How fat they look.”
Maeve rolled her eyes. “Stop it. You’re not fat.”
Eden sighed. “Do you think there’s a chance I’m carrying twins?”
Maeve frowned. “No, not at all.”
“I’m being serious right now. What if there is a second baby inside me, and I don’t see it?”
Maeve chuckled. “You’ve got one baby.”
“Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?”
“I have no idea but I do know it’s going to be spoiled rotten.” She smiled at her sister.
Silence fell between them.
“So, I’ve given you plenty of time to come clean, do I have to be the one to ask all the questions?” Eden asked.
Maeve nibbled her lip, and she couldn’t help her nerves. “What do you want to know?”
“You and Doc?”
“Yeah, I know.”
“You two looked so lost in each other. It took you a second to realize I was even in the room,” Eden said.
Maeve laughed. “I am so sorry about that. I didn’t expect you to come home.”
“Is that what has been happening since I’ve been away?”
“You and Razor went away for your honeymoon, and everything was just ... I don’t know what happened.”
“What happened to Nancy? Does she know?”
“She knows.”
“Was there a fight? Did you have to punch her?”
Maeve shook her head. “No, I didn’t have to punch her. It was all nice and handled without any violence. Nancy’s actually happy for us.”
“And Charlotte?”
“We’ve not told Charlotte yet. We’re waiting until after Easter.”
“Easter?” Eden asked.
“Just in case she’s upset and decides to make it difficult at the fair. You know how kids can get.” Maeve winced. “That sounded awful.”
“It’s okay. I know what you’re trying to say, and you do care about Charlotte.”
“I do.” Maeve sighed. “It’s all a mess right now.” She pouted. “There is so much going on.”
“I saw the way you looked at Doc,” Eden said. “I’ve never seen you look at a man that way before.”
“He’s not like any other man I’ve been with,” Maeve said. She couldn’t keep the smile from her face as she thought about Doc. “Honestly, just being around him makes me feel so happy, so secure, and I know I’m babbling right now.”
Eden laughed. “It’s good to babble. Babble away. We’ve not talked like this in so long.”
“Do you think we should keep Razor and Doc alone together?”
“Yeah, they’re family in their own way. Besides, we’ve got so much to catch up on, and you’re not going to leave anything out.
I know you’ve been going through a lot, and I wanted to ask you so many times, but I didn’t want you to freak out or worry.
I know you always put so much on your plate, even when you don’t need to. ”
Maeve looked at her sister and couldn’t help but frown. “I am so sorry.”
“You don’t need to be sorry, not at all.
I get it. It has been hard for you. After Mom and Dad died, you had to be the mom and dad, and let’s face it, we hate to admit it, but even when they were alive, you were the same.
Mom wasn’t the one that taught me about sanitary napkins, it was you. You gave me the sex talk.”
“You’re not mad?”
“What do I have to be mad about? You’re happy, aren’t you?”
Maeve nodded. “I am.”
“So, that’s all that matters. You’re happy, and that makes me happy. Do you have feelings for him?” Eden asked.
Maeve pressed her lips together before nodding her head.
Eden let out a little squeal. “This is a huge deal.”
They both giggled. “This feels so good to just talk,” Maeve said.
“I had no idea this is what you were keeping from me. I thought you wanted Razor and I to move out of the house. I know it has been so long since we’ve had a guy living with us. The last one was Dad.”
“I don’t want you and Razor to move out. I figured you two were looking for a new place to stay and I was the one cramping your style.” She hated how much it hurt.
Eden frowned. “What? Hell, no, we’re not looking at different houses. Razor doesn’t mind living with you at all. We’re both very happy here, and there’s no other place I’d want to be. We go to the club from time to time to give you space.”
Tears filled Maeve’s eyes, and she couldn’t help throwing her arms around Eden and holding her so tightly.
“Thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me? For giving you space?”
“No, for being my sister and being amazing. I love you so damn much.” It felt so good to catch up and finally get all the crap brewing between them off their chests.

Several days later, Doc was in his office going over some paperwork when Razor stepped in. He held a file and looked pretty grim.
“Are you sure about this?” Razor asked.
“Tell me what’s inside.”
“Why is this so important to you?” Razor asked.
Doc didn’t have to answer to anyone. He had his reasons for feeling irritated over the situation. However, seeing as Razor also agreed he would remove the image of Maeve naked from his mind, he kind of owed him.
Eden had accepted him with open arms. At least, when she came downstairs for something to eat. Everything seemed to be going good between the two sisters. The love the two shared and that bond was important to both of them.
“Because call me old-fashioned, but I believe a guy should take care of his mistakes.”
“You think Wilson should kill his wife and kid?”
Doc frowned. “Fuck, no. I think that piece of shit should walk out, pay most of his wage for raising that kid, and learn that where you stick your dick is important. You give a woman a kid, you take responsibility, end of discussion.”
Razor winced. “He even got paternity tests done on his daughter. Everything you asked for is in there.”
He got up from behind his desk, rounded it, and leaned against the front, taking the file from Razor and started to read all the documents inside. There were notes to explain what each document meant.
“So based on this, he’s trying to get her to relinquish her rights, only he’s attempting to state she walked out of the house.”
“That’s it,” Razor said. “He’s also moved his new woman into the house, and from my sources, there was a yard sale where he sold most of his little girl’s toys.”
Doc snapped the file closed. “I think it’s time I pay this man a visit.”
“Do you mind if I tag along as well?” Razor asked.
“What’s pissed you off about this bastard?”
