To Whoever Needs to Hear it,
Life is weird. It’s this ugly, cold, dark, torturous existence sprinkled with incomprehensible beauty— sort of like when an older sister loves the younger one so damn much that she steps up and raises her child as her own. And she does it with grace and not an ounce of resentment. Or when you stumble across the other half of your soul right when you’re almost sure it’s time to take your last breath. And your other half is funny and kind and exactly as lost as you, but somehow, when you’re together, you feel found.
And sometimes that beauty is the perfect shade of purple, a lemon muffin, or your best friend’s kid’s sticky hands clapping with excitement.
The point is, maybe you don’t want to be here anymore because you think you know what’s around the corner. You think it’s more ugliness. You think you’re trapped because, around infinite corners, you will also encounter nothing but torture. That’s not true, though. The truth is that you don’t know what’s around the corner. Nobody does. And that’s how life should be. You might walk smack dab into something wonderful, and damn it, you deserve to find out.
Glad You’re Here,
Thea
