“So have you found a big, strong, sexy mountain man to lose your virginity to yet?” My agent, Aria, certainly doesn’t beat around the bush about my love life.

I wish I had never told her that secret.

But thanks to the girl talk we shared, I know she is also a virgin.

“I packed a little present in your suitcase for you when you weren’t looking. ”

“That’s not what I came to the mountains to do.

I’m here to connect with nature.” I hold my phone between my shoulder and my cheek as I unpack my luggage, wondering if I packed the right clothes for roughing it.

I hold up an almost see-through short nightgown, knowing darn well I didn’t pack it, and it certainly isn’t appropriate for the wilderness.

Speaking of wilderness, I glance out the tent’s window, the flap raised, with only the mesh screen between me and the bugs outside.

But at least the mountain view is breathtaking, and the complete privacy is an added bonus.

I’m not sure I’m cut out for glamping in the wilderness by myself, even if it includes a queen-sized bed, a kitchen, and a bathroom, all with running water and, of course, electricity, all under a huge tent.

It really is a romantic setup. If only I had someone to share it with, it would be perfect.

“Would it really hurt if you actually lived out one of your romance novels? I mean, what better way to research than to find the real thing? Honestly, how long can you fake the love scenes in your books if you’ve never experienced them?

Aren’t you getting tired of watching all that internet porn for inspiration?

” When she says it like that, I sound like a complete pervert.

“I can’t hear you. The connection is breaking up.” I make a crackling noise into the phone to cover my lie, when in reality, I’m surprised at how good the cell reception is this far up in the mountains.

“That’s bull crap, and you know it.” Her voice comes through the phone loud and clear. “Don’t make me come up there and throw you in front of the first mountain man we see—even if he is old and gray.”

“That’s not a bad idea, Aria—readers are into that mountain man, silver fox, daddy vibe.”

“You’re right, I could get behind that whole daddy thing. By the way, I can hear you clear as a bell.”

Shoot, she caught me. “What was that? You’re breaking up again. I’d better let you go.” I disconnect the call before she can respond, then focus on my surroundings.

The bed looks so inviting, but I need a hot shower to wash the day's dirt off. The path to my tent was easy to follow, but I’m a city girl and not used to hiking any distance. Even my sweat stains have sweat stains.

I walk to the bathroom and turn on the shower, expecting a strong, steady flow of warm water, only to see a weak trickle of cold water.

I shut off the water and consider my options.

It’s getting late, and the bed looks so inviting.

All I want to do is lie down and sleep until morning.

But since I’m going to be here for a few days, I don’t want to dirty my bedding on the first night.

A binder on the bed catches my eye. I flip through it and find directions and a map to the main cabin, where a handyman lives. I glance from the map to the sky and decide I still have a couple of hours of daylight to find the handyman, get the water fixed, and shower before bed.

Tucking the sheer nightgown back into my suitcase, I untie the flannel shirt at my waist and slip it over my tank top, layering up in case I get caught in the mountains after dark.

The short denim shorts will have to do—the thought of putting on clean jeans only to sweat through them doesn’t appeal to me.

Leaving the safety of my luxury tent, I take off down the path to find the handyman, praying I don’t get lost in the woods or worse yet, eaten by any number of wildlife living in the area—unless it’s a sexy mountain man doing the eating.

Okay, maybe Aria’s right, I have watched way too much internet porn.
