Epilogue

“T here’s something magic in the dew, Jessie,” Lee said as she sat on the rock overlooking the lake, holding the sleepy toddler on her lap. “When you’re older, I’ll tell you the story.”

A story about destiny…about love. She knew, without turning around, that Adam was behind her.

“Happy thoughts?” he asked, brushing her well-rounded stomach with his hand.

She turned and looked at her husband, the man she’d dreamed about for so many years. “The happiest.”

“Ready to go home?”

“I’m already there,” she assured him. She looked at Adam and Jessie, as she placed her hand with the wedding ring on their unborn baby.

“I’m already there,” she repeated.
