Going Down with the Forbidden Bodyguard

Going Down with the Forbidden Bodyguard

"Perfection!" Jessica, the makeup artist we hired for our stop at the Fox Falls Music Festival, puts the finishing touches on my face before turning me toward the mirror.

"Now, don't go doing anything that will mess this up, doll."

She gives me a wink and my cheeks heat like I'm a twelve-year-old being teased about a school crush.

I let out a weird laugh that almost sounds like a sneeze.

"Um, excuse me? What is that about?" Jessica asks. She grins at me before her gaze darts to my manager, Alice.

"What is what?" I look in the mirror instead of at either of the two women in the room. "You did a great job, thank you."

"Um, no, missy. Your cheeks are red and that is not from any blush I applied." Jessica glances at Alice again, whom I try to wave off but she speaks up anyway.

"Oh, it's probably because Hulk is on his way to get her safely to her performance." She grins at Jessica without even pausing to stop typing on her phone.

I hired Alice at the beginning of the year to help me manage my growing singing career.

We are completely different people, which is why it works so well.

I'm much more of a homebody than this profession allows, preferring to hide away with my guitar and avoid the fame.

Alice is making sure I'm getting out there as much as possible.

I give Alice a look, wondering why my manager is trying to fuel rumors while we're on tour. Is she the one who gave Dane that ridiculous nickname?

"Hulk? Who's Hulk?" Jessica asks as she gathers her tools and supplies.

"Oh, just the six-foot-five wall of muscle who Silver hasn't stop making googly eyes at all weekend." Alice rolls her eyes letting me know exactly how she feels about my little crush.

"His name is Hulk?" Jessica asks as she puts lids back on pots of eye shadow.

"No, his name is Dane. And yes, he's very handsome. But both of us know that this is a job. I'm not about to hook-up with my bodyguard."

Especially one who makes fireworks go off in my brain the second he looks at me because who has time for that?

I've had to change my panties more times in the last forty-eight hours since having met him than I typically do in an entire week, but he looks at me or, hell, breathes near me, and I'm soaked.

Alice snickers. "The hotel staff calls him Hulk."

I roll my eyes. "Alright, thank you for all your help, but I need to get dressed. Can you walk Jessica out? It was great to meet you. You're my go-to gal any time I'm in Fox Falls."

She grins. "Thank you, Silver. Break a leg tonight."

I head through the double doors into the bedroom as Alice walks Jessica to the door.

"Oh hello, Dane." Alice's voice stops me in my tracks. Little butterflies erupt in my belly – as well as a hell of a lot lower – at the mere mention of my big, growly crush. I swallow hard and glance over my shoulder to find Dane standing at the door of the suite.

Alice turns to me with a smirk. "Hey Silver, I'm going to walk Jessica to the lobby. I'll meet you down there."

I nod, even though I'm silently screaming inside. Oh, dear god. I need a buffer with this man.

The door closes behind the two women, and I swear I hear snickering in the hallway, but Dane doesn't acknowledge it.

"Hello, Ms. Langford." Dane says, like I'm just any other client, even though his eyes send me a different message. The combination makes me want to climb him like a tree.

"How'd you sleep, Dane?" My voice sounds breathy even to my own ears and I chastise my horny vag for trying to put us out there.

We do not sleep with our bodyguard. Hell, if you'd told me I'd even have a bodyguard on this tour, I'd have bet you a million dollars you were wrong about that, but Alice has made a world of difference and I'm starting to get some traction online.

She's insistent that the perception of a bodyguard is important, so here I am, lusting after the man.

I've been dating my mattress exclusively for way too long.

"Slept great, Ms. Langford," Dane replies. His quiet intensity is a sharp contrast to all the butterflies erupting in my belly.

"Dane, please call me Silver." I put my hands on my hips, which opens my robe a little bit and I squeeze my thighs together when his dark eyes land on me.

I clear my throat. "I just have to throw on my clothes and then I'm ready to go down."

My cheeks heat as I realize what I said and I correct myself quickly.

"I mean go down to the lobby. Not down on you."

He raises his eyebrows at that statement and I lift both hands.

"I mean I would. Not. Oh my god... I need to get dressed."

I finally stop babbling like an idiot, desperately wanting to disappear into a hole, but I can't stop staring at him like a crazy goober.

The faint hint of a smile flashes across Dane's face before it's gone and he nods, turning to face the door.

A little buzz of disappointment snakes through my body at the idea that he might not actually be interested in seeing what I look like naked.

I'm a curvy lady. I've got thick thighs and a nice sized Tennessee ham on my backside, but I've always felt good about my body.

So, if he doesn't want it, well, that sucks.

Maybe it's for the best.

"You don't have to stand there facing the wall, Dane. Sit on the couch." I gesture to the plush sofa.

He turns to face me and clears his throat. "You could close the doors."

I laugh. "I could, except I haven't been able to get the door unstuck since I got here." I slip deeper into the room, dropping my robe to the floor as I slide into my heels. I'm wearing my lacy panties and my lucky bra, because it's a show night.

A sharp intake of breath has me looking up quickly to find Dane standing in the doorway to the suite's bedroom. His hand is on the knob like he was planning to help me close it, but his eyes are drinking me in like a glass of cool liquid on a hot day.

I should probably grab my robe or do something to suggest that I'm not all about this moment, but that would be a lie. And my mama taught me not to be a fibber.

Besides, something about the heat in his eyes has me preening like a peacock. I slip my hand on my hip, giving him even more curves to admire.

Dane's hungry eyes feast on my body and a little thrill of excitement courses through me.

I wasn't imagining anything.

Dane's gaze reaches my eyes, and then they go wide. He shakes his head like he's coming out of a trance, and he turns around quickly.

"I apologize." His deep voice goes straight to my core. It's the only explanation for what I say next.

"Sorry about seeing me, or sorry I caught you?"

The back of Dane's neck turns red, and a little huff of a laugh comes out of him.

My heart sings with that small victory. Ever since I met him, besides the heat between us that feels written in the stars, he has barely spoken more than two words to me at a time.

I've never seen him laugh or smile, which would normally be a dealbreaker, but his quiet intensity is calming.

I have never felt safer with anyone in my entire life.

And I've had a life that has made me need safety more than I need air.

In this moment, however, I want to do the unsafe thing. I want to taste the forbidden fruit and say, bless your heart, to the rules as I give them a southern middle finger. My entire body tingles with need for this man.

"Dane, if you wouldn't mind standing right there, watching the door. There's a little thing I like to do before I go on stage. Something that... relaxes me." My heart is pounding and I bite my lip as Dane's body tenses. He stares at me for a long moment before responding.

"Of course." Dane turns his back to me, and I walk unsteadily to the bed. I can't believe I'm about to do this, but there is no stopping me now.

I lie down on the soft mattress, sliding my panties off but leaving my heels on. I open the drawer of the little bedside table where I left my trusty companion after getting myself off to fantasies of a certain broody bodyguard late last night.

I click the plus sign to turn it on and open my legs wide, watching Dane's back as I slide the head of silicone through my slick heat.

"Oh." I let out a breathy moan as I glide past my throbbing clit, rolling the vibrator in a circular motion.

Dane is still facing away from me, but I pant loudly as my entire body coils like a spring.

I close my eyes, picturing his dark eyes on me, and especially the way he looked at me in my underwear moments ago. "Yes," I whisper.

"Move it inside you."

My eyes fly open at Dane's order and I swallow hard. He's standing at the edge of the bed, his eyes glued to my vibrator. I follow his instructions, thrusting the vibrator inside with a squelching sound that has his eyes closing in ecstasy.

"Circle your clit," Dane commands and my chest heaves as I do exactly as he says. His large hand covers the massive bulge at the front of his pants, and his clenched fist works himself through the black material of his suit pants.

"Yes, yes, yes..." I moan loudly, begging him with his eyes to come join me. He takes a step toward my side of the bed and then my phone rings.

"Leave it," Dane grits out and I nod, gripping the sheets with my hand as I try to hold off as he stands next to the bed, his massive frame towering over me.

He reaches his hand toward me and then my phone rings again and Dane stops in his tracks.

I'm panting with need, but suddenly I realize I'm supposed to be somewhere.

"Oh my god!" I sit up quickly as my phone rings again. "Hello?" I say, already scrambling off the bed.

"Silver, where are you?" Alice's voice breaks me out of my euphoric trance. "They're getting you mic’d up in thirty minutes. We need to go." The click of Alice's fingernails on her phone tells me she's not paying much attention, even though her voice is urgent.

"Sorry," I say, staring at Dane who draws me in like a magnet. I shake my head. "Dress emergency. I'm coming down." I hang up quickly and grab my dress, slipping it over my head as the realization of what just happened smacks me in the face like a banana cream pie.

"Dane, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have–"
