Chapter Eleven
YOUR ANGER JOURNAL
“Anger is never without a reason, but seldom with a good one”
– Benjamin Franklin
Monday:
What happened?
Justin got a new girlfriend and put it all over Instagram.
How did you feel?
Er, shit? Obviously?
What was the trigger?
Justin getting a new girlfriend, only a few weeks after dumping me. The hateful prick.
Tuesday:
What happened?
The WiFi stopped working. I turned it on and off about five times and it still wouldn’t work. I can’t get 5G in the flat so I couldn’t spend the whole afternoon googling Justin’s new girlfriend Orla get any of my work on Orange Flags done.
How did you feel?
Like throwing the router at the wall and screaming until the police came and took me away.
What was the trigger?
I guess… feeling like I couldn’t do anything to control or fix the situation.
Wednesday:
What happened?
I went to M&S and this man wouldn’t get out of the way of the sandwich fridge. He stood there with the fridge door wide open for close to six minutes, even though it was so obvious I was waiting to get in there!!
How did you feel?
Furious. And confused about how people can be so selfish and oblivious.
What was the trigger?
Aside from certain men being unbelievably self-involved and unaware? Probably being really hungry for an M&S three bean Mexican wrap with tomato salsa and sweet potato.
Thursday:
What happened?
This is stupid.
How did you feel?
This is stupid.
What was the trigger?
This is stupid.
Friday:
What happened?
Sod off.
How did you feel?
Bugger off.
What was the trigger?
I’ve had enough.
