Chapter 20

Mommy and Daddy,

I asked Papaw Kip why you guys are always reading these papers, and he said they are love notes. But I thought that’s why you kissed? He laughed when I asked him and said I should write a note and ask you.

He’s helping me because I can’t spell. That’s for when you’re in Kindergarten. But Daddy said I couldn’t go because it means I’m getting too big. If I don’t go, though, how will I ever be able to write love notes?

So, Daddy, you’ll just have to let me go because I need to learn to write love notes for Uncle Tayte. He’s been grumpy, and anytime you’re cranky, you just kiss Mommy. Then it’s all better.

I think Uncle Tayte needs a girl to kiss. Maybe he should kiss Aunt Mia. He likes looking at her.

Love you to the moon,

Avery
